  1. Game 2 coming sometime tomorrow...then we are back on the 1997 team's run!
  2. The top two teams in the WCHA are battling it out in Grand Forks for the league playoff title; North Dakota and Minnesota! The Hrkac Circus with 'Steady' Eddie Belfour in net go up against Corey Millen, Peter Hankinson, Paul Broten, Scott Bloom and the rest of the Gofers. John Blue in net for Minny. Game 1 took place on Friday March 13, 1987. https://youtu.be/_6WjYSVwc8o
  3. The Sioux played Minnesota on March 13-14, 1987 for the WCHA League title in Grand Forks...back then teams played a 2 game, total goals series. I will try post game 1 today but here's one fond memory of the series...enjoy!
  4. Impressive!
  5. Stuart Senden played for Minny from 1997-98 to 2000-01.
  6. Glad to be of service!
  7. Another one for you Shawn-O!
  8. Halloween night, 1986, against Bucky Badger! I'm somewhere in that mosh-pit of a student section...Tony Granato, Paul Ranheim, and Gary Shuchuk on the top line for Sconny; Mike Richter in the net. It's the usual cast of characters for the Circus with the exception of goalie; Scott Brower (RIP) gets the start. Enjoy!
  9. I may have some Hrkac Circus vids as well...I’ll take a look this weekend.
  10. My favorite part of the video is after UND gets their first goal, a live gopher appears on the ice...classic!

  13. I doubt that...I mean they've been so forthcoming on this issue from the start.
  14. I've got the file for the game uploaded; I only loaded from the second intermission to the end of the game; quite a big file...Nice to hear Sweeney getting all fired up again! https://youtu.be/ghy8gwG-IuM
  15. Maybe...I'm no expert YouTuber but I'm pretty sure I could upload it...I don't really want it on my channel mixed in with family videos etc.
  16. Dug through some old DVD's in my basement and what do you know...not the best quality but it was fun watching it again...
  17. Careful...you might catch the 'brown-bag flu'.
  18. Either one.
  19. Yes, but glad that goon is gone.
  20. Not as good offensively as Michaud....
  21. Pete Bain is a life-saver! I moved to the Twin Cities almost 30 years ago and it was not an easy thing to see Sioux hockey on the local media unless they were in town playing the Gophers. Anyway, this guy (Mr Bain) comes on the SiouxSports site around 2005 and says he can hook you up for all the Sioux home games for the price of a dish and a receiver...something called FTA (Free to air) signal and all you needed was the proper equipment and be pointed at the correct satellite. Long story short, I got the UND home games in the comfort of my own living room for about 10 years until the NCHC came into existence. Anyway, during the time I was getting the games, I met some interesting people while trying to upgrade my satellite system. One gal who delivered a larger dish to me was a former UND student around the same time I was in Grand Forks. She was telling me how her and her friends would throw Gofers onto the ice after goals...I asked her how the heck she got them into the arena since they searched everyone when they came in. She said they would walk over to the Old Ralph on Thursday afternoons and tape dead gophers underneath the seats and then on Friday they would rush in to claim those seats. Now thats dedication!!
  22. Heard something like that as well.
  23. Ok Mafia, I got one for you. Attended the Friday game in Forks against Goldy Gofer in the late 90's and once again our Sioux were trailing by a couple going into the third period. I remember Wooger was coaching for Minny because between the 2nd and 3rd period me and two other guys switched seats so we could sit right behind the Gofer bench. As usual, UND made a big push in the third and tied the game. The old Ralph was rocking so Woog calls his timeout. It is complete bedlam as the Gofers huddle up and the two guys with me, who shall remain nameless (to protect the guilty), start getting on Woog. By the end of the timeout, the entire Gofer bench is looking at us in the stands, including Woog. I'm not sure he got to pass on any pearls of wisdom to his players as they were too busy watching the crazy UND fans harassing them and their coach. "You're not in Red Wing anymore Johnny (Pohl)!" Of course the Sioux scored the next goal to win the game. Good times!
