We offered Wilson last spring. It would have been great if we had landed him. He is good!!

Sather has offered Paul Bruns, a 6'4" guard from Dakota Valley HS, North Sioux City, SD. As a freshman, he was a 5'11" PG, he is now 6'4". I assume he has moved to SG as he is averaging nearly 30 points while grabbing 12 rebounds a game. So far, he has only received offers from Augie and USF but I am sure the SD schools are watching him closely. I am not sure of the talent level of his competition but the kid appears to be very good. Hopefully, offering him before USD and SDSU will work for us!

I agree - he was one of our better recruiters. This will be an important hire!

I don’t think he is interested in both, right now, at least. That said, this was a brief conversation 2+ months ago. He may have totally changed his thinking since then.

I talked to him at Thanksgiving - a nice/humble kid! He said he didn’t know if he was good enough to play college FB - I would guess he is. He was very interested in talking about throwing. I would guess we have a decent chance to land him for FB but not track.

$30 million is a ton of money. Even if you have 4-5 people ante up $500,000 (and that is a lot of $), you are still less than 10% of what is needed. They are working hard to get a major donor to step up with an amount that will really get people excited. Hopefully, that will be soon. That is when an announcement will be made. There will be many announcements before "all they need is $5 million".

I certainly hope you know something that I don't. It must be a recent development - I certainly hope you are correct!!

Not very big (5'9", 165) but has great speed (4.4). Would be great to land him! He currently has offers from Kent St, WMU & NIU.

I have not heard anything about Rebraca thinking about moving up. He does a great job underneath despite not having much bulk. In my opinion, he would need to add another 20 pounds of bulk/muscle to play at a higher level. I’m hoping he does add this bulk and STAYS at UND!

I know we don't have much $ left but it has been very quiet - hopefully, not alarmingly quiet! Feb 5 will be here soon!

A few observations: Danielson certainly isn't going to be a star but he has played well in many games this year. We would have 2-3 more losses (including Nebraska) had we not had him. He should be a good player off the bench for the next three years - I don't expect him to be a starter. I think Eikens has good potential but I expected him to better than he has shown. No knock on the kid but he was highly recruited - I thought he would be an impact player this year. He will be good, hopefully, very good! I think G will be a good ball player for us. Too bad we couldn't have red-shirted him this year. Sather wants to win. If he thought that playing more than the 7 players would give us a better chance of winning, he would do so. That said, with so little depth, many players will not be back next year. The challenge is that we need to be recruiting their replacements now and, until you have the "heart-to-heart" conversations with the kids who won't be back (which will happen after the end of the season), it is difficult to be bringing a bunch of prospects in for visits. I am sure Sather has a plan but it would be much more easier if we had another 3-4 scholarships open right now. He and his staff are likely explaining the situation to a variety of prospects and asking them to be patient before making their decisions. Ramsey was quite disappointing when he arrived on campus. I wouldn't be surprised if he is not with the team next year. I am not sure about Hazekamp - I think there is a decent chance he can be a contributor. I understand that Moody won't be back anytime soon - that may mean he won't be back this season. Lastly, nobody should be surprised that we are having a so-so year. The cupboard was quite bare and a lot of work needed to be done (attitude, dedication, work ethic, "team comes first" mentality, etc.) with too many of the returning players. At this point in the season, we have won 8 games. I would guess it would have been 5 (maybe fewer) under last year's leadership.

And it would have been much worse if Sather hadn't brought Danielson with him!

The 3-4 issue is really a good question. They have known for awhile that Schmidt was leaving so I would think a replacement should be named quite soon. My opinion - they will bring someone in from the outside.

I am not a Walter fan but it was too bad he had such a lousy game. He had a bunch of family and friends at the game.

Lowell will be missed in many, many ways! Prayers for the family! A tough weekend for UND football!

So sad - our prayers will continue for Hunter and his family!

I am a big backer of Sather but let’s not get too optimistic about the team’s success over this year and next. While he inherited 2-3 pretty good players, that was about it. There is no depth and very limited talent. It will likely take a couple of years before we he has the talent on the roster to do great things. While we will continue to win some games we probably shouldn’t win, we better not be too optimistic!

I was there - I can assure you that we would not have won two games at the FGCU tourney under the prior regime.
