  1. A couple of weeks ago, many of us that follow the program closely were disappointed that we didn’t have any scholarships available. That has certainly changed quickly. I have been a Sather supporter - he will have plenty of opportunity to bring in some of “his kind” of talent. We will see how he does!!
  2. Geno didn’t give up 4 years! He “got” 4 years of education and 4 years of DI BB at UND rather than playing NAIA ball!!
  3. That really sucks! UND took a chance on Tyree (just like they did with Crandall a few years ago) when others didn't. Many didn't think he would be eligible as a freshman. UND brought him in, gave him guidance, saw that he had good academic assistance, etc. After that, he decides to walk!!!!! I guess he didn't learn anything about integrity!
  4. UND 24 SU 17
  5. We need to give Mallory our full support. I wouldn’t be surprised if does well. She had everything go wrong for her this year: - No opportunity to work with the girls over the summer. - Only one available scholarship which she had to use on a point guard without the ability to meet her in person. Many coaches were faced with this challenge but most didn’t just get the job. - Mallory certainly had a hand in recruiting the current roster but I can assure you that the roster would have been different had she been the head coach the prior couple of years. - Players came to fall camp hurt or not ready to contribute. - COVID and injuries resulted in often not having 10 players for practice and a few games with us having only 8 players. - We didn’t have the opportunity to play some weaker teams early which would have allowed us to gain some confidence and have the opportunity to try different player combinations, different defenses and offensive schemes. - More injuries including our only real PG being out for the season. - Inability to win some early season games that were winnable. Maybe some of that was coaching but I think it was simply other teams having better talent and our ladies just “not knowing how to win”. The decision has been made and I wouldn’t be overly surprised if 2-3 years from now we don’t all agree that it was a good decision!
  6. I had guessed that you were right but I was wrong!!
  7. I would guess that you are right!
  8. Considered by some as the best RB in MN. Has offers from CMU, EMU, UNI & USD
  9. He is Noah's younger brother. Must be a smart kid - has offers from Dartmouth, Penn, Columbia, etc. Also a pretty good hockey player! The brother and UND being a hockey school may sure help in our recruiting him!
  10. UND 45 WIU 20
  11. Very good point!!
  12. Those of us who helped purchase new jackets for the FB team may see them this weekend. The team is taking them to Macomb. The high there is to be 54 on Saturday so they may choose to be "tough" and not use them.
  13. Check your messages.
  14. Update on the committed recruits: Paul Bruns (6'4" G) is averaging over 28 ppg and an incredible 12.6 rpg. Shooting 50% from the field, 41% from the 3 and 87% at the line. Dakota Valley is 20-2 and playing Sisseton tonight in the state tourney. Isaac, Paul's brother is a 6'3" so. guard averaging 24 ppg. He may end up being the best of the brothers! Grant Reid (6'3" G) is averaging over 14 ppg along with 4 apg. He is shooting 51% from the 3. Johnstown is 10-4 and will play in the IA state tourney. Gavin McGrath (6'11" C) is averaging over 13 ppg, 7 rpg and 2.5 bpg. He is shooting over 65% from the field and even shoots a few 3's (43%). At only 200 lbs, he will need to put on a bunch of weight but he must be pretty coordinated as he only has 29 pf in the 19 games. He is rated the #13 top recruit in WI. Onalaska (19-0) will play in the state tourney. FB player CJ Siegel was instrumental in McGrath's choosing to attend UND.
  15. Treysen is a 6’5” G/F at Bismarck High, averaging 20+ ppg. He said Bob Eaglestaff was his uncle. Bob graduated in 1976 so you would think he would have been Bob’s grandson, not nephew. Maybe Bob’s brother was 20 years younger than Bob.
  16. You called it!!
  17. You jinxed him!!
  18. Not a catch normally made by a true freshman!!
  19. Agree - we were fortunate.
  20. UND 38 USD 31
  21. I would think that he would near the top of the list!!
  22. I am sure that many have seen the picture of four guys from Moorhead at the SDSU game. One was Feeney, who were the others? I hope Altepeter and Teiken!!
  23. I would guess in the 6-9 range.
  24. There has been no mention (in Herald or otherwise) that Craig Orlando and Elijah Beach were both out with injuries last week. Both are expected to provide good DL depth. Anyone know if they are playing today?
  25. Leet plans to return and continue her music education but the new coach may have other ideas.
