Wow - that sure appeared out of no where! But it is good to see that he had a couple other legitimate offers.
-
Nick Dachota, the big OL from the same HS as Golladay, has verballed to IN St. I am not sure if we had offered him but he would have been a good get - 6'8", 305!
-
A couple of other sources have him at 6'2", 220. He played some TE - caught about one pass per game. I would guess we are interested in him as a LB.

While I don't disagree with your point at all and we did recently have a shortage of WRs, there are only so many scholarships available and the team certainly has other needs. As homer pointed out, it could be that Fletcher is coming in as a safety. That would make more sense - very nice size for that position!
-
Three scholarships to WRs really surprises me especially when it appears we already have some good ones on the roster (including redshirts Jackson and Young). Does anyone know if all these receivers are back on campus this semester? I wonder if we had a couple disappear on us.

I am exceedingly happy to read this. It would have been a travesty if Gene had been forced out! Any reasoning for the odd timing of the announcement?
-
I think Brewster would do a great job but Faison wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't do his due diligence to see if there wasn't someone better available!!!

GF Herald's Wayne Nelson calling UND "Green and White"

Ira - once again, I fully agree with every point you made. The blame-game and whining must stop - there is no basis for it! -
Sounds like a great idea but would hope that UND could share in some of the additional gate revenue generated by a crowd likely to be much greater than UNO would have at the Omaha rink.

After a great start to the winter up there, it sounds like this weekend's weather won't be a great for hosting recruits!!

Does anyone know what type of injury Madi Buck has? Will she play this weekend?

Anyone know what music is playing in the bball intro?

I am probably also too old school to appreciate it but didn't it last way too long? -
Thanks, Ira - apparently his walking on is fact? Are you aware of any other recruiting news?
-
Anyone know anything about a Nate Ellingson from Jamestown who may be walking on?
-
While we did not play well on offense, I was very impressed with the defense and defensive rebounding. I was also impressed with Hoff. He certainly was shut down offensively but he contained himself well, did not try to create something that wasn't available to him and he played excellent defense. As has been stated, hopefully, the win will result in more students (and other fans) attending our home games.

We are really making some inroads in Illinois. Both these kids sounds pretty good. Bayer was primarily a defensive lineman but, at 5'11', he may be a little short for that position. At 235, he has great size for a FB!
-
Great move for Tim - he will continue to move up the coaching ladder!
-
Per another website, both UND and SU have offered Forman's Justin Arp, DE/TE. he may also be reeceiving some attention from Nebraska.
-
Recruits are "dropping like flies" off of our "offered" list. I hope we hear some good news soon!
-
Well said, Ira!

If anything, it should help. There are a handful of folks (Phil Jackson being one) who have implied they wouldn't contribute until the Sioux name was gone. I hope the fundraising group is reminding this small group of alumni of their earlier past comments! Feel free to enlighten me if the Jackson example is not fact.

Would someone who has been through the FB recruiting process at UND provide some insight into what takes place during a typical weekend? Do the recurits normally arrive on Friday (hopefully, the answer is yes so they were at last night's game)? If they arrive on Friday, I assume they depart on Sunday morning? Often parents accompany their kids, do parents go to the hockey or BB games and sit with their kids or is it just the recruits hanging out with each other? Is a current player assigned as a host to each recruit? If so, is that normally determined by where the recruit lives (a recruit from WI is hosted by a WI player). Is position a factor - I would guess that maybe specific position is not but a recruit who plays defense is likely hosted by a defensive player? Rather than players, the host certainly could be one of the coaches - I am sure they are very involved in the weekend's activities. Obviously, a recruit gets a tour of campus, the Alerus, the Ralph & the Betty, FB offices and weightroom (unfortunately), meets with academic advisors - especially if they know what field they want to go in to. Are the tours individual or are the players together for all of this (other than the academic discussions)? Where are the recruits normally taken for meals? I am sure it isn't fast food but how upscale do they go? Regarding last night.... How much snow is on the ground up there? I know you are having your first real dose of winter right now (wonderful timing) but it looks like it will be fairly nice today and tomorrow - hopefully, weather will not be a detriment in a kid making up his mind about UND. Anything else of note? Your insight would be welcomed - thanks!

If they didn't use that location for the IPF, it would be handed (appropriately so) to EERC for their expansion. From what I understand, it would cost a ton to get the old REA back into shape for hockey/concessions, etc.

As soon as I typed that, I realized he was scheduled here next weekend. There is confusion whether he will be at UND or SU next weekend, however.
