  1. It has been quiet lately. I have updated Wiki with some info regarding kids we have offered getting additional offers, etc. but nothing much is happening right now.
  2. I bet the ladies got an earful from Gene after this one - many, many mistakes down the stretch along with lousy FT shooting!

Thanks for the info - how could a kid with those kind of numbers at a big-time HS not get an offer? I don't think the problem was grades! You mentioned Sparks - are you going to provide some insight into this year's redshirt class - who may see a lot of playing time next year, who has significant potential, who may have added 30 pounds since being recruited, etc. It would be great if you did. Thanks again for the nice job you do - keep the info coming!

For those of us who follow UND FB recruiting closely, you will remember that last year we offered Lucas Dunne, an all-state running back from Concord De La Salle, CA. De La Salle is, year in and year out, one of the top FB big schools in all of CA. I was sure hoping that he would sign with us but was puzzled when he didn't sign with anyone. I, and others, have wondered what happened with him. I have just learned that he is playing rugby for the Cal Golden Bears. Mystery solved!
  5. We are down 39-16 at halftime - ugly!!
  6. I don't know but we do have a least six offers out to Arizona prospects.
  7. You make a very good point - one that I had not realized. Even on our list of all kids that UND has shown some level of interest in - there were only three from CA. We offered one who committed to UCLA and the other two were QBs so I am sure we no longer have interest in them. That is very strange - it almost looks like we abandoned CA for IL! We have the commitment from Bartels plus we have at least five other offers out to IL kids!
  8. I sent a note to Rivals a couple of hours ago about Rich and Bartels. It didn't take them long to make the update.
  9. Woods is to have commented on his offers immediately following the team's loss to Rocori on 11/25. Supposedly at least two people heard him say that he had full ride offers from Bemidji and Moorhead for BB along with a full from UND and a partial from SU for FB. Obviously, SU has offerred him a full ride as of a few days ago. I don't know if that is fact but I would highly doubt that yesterday was the first communication that UND has had with Woods. If this kid is as good as advertised, that would be very poor recruiting on our part!
  10. Agree - I also have concerns about how much offense the current freshman class will provide in upcoming years.
  11. My opinion: Schuler shoots the ball well and I am very glad we have him. The challenge is that he is not overly quick nor is his release quick. This makes it hard for him to get many shots off as the quickness (and size, at times) of DI guards means that someone is on him very quickly when he gets the ball. The above comments can be said about a ton of college guards - some of them are very good players. So this isn't meant to be a knock on the young man - it is just the way it is. Two observations: 1) Our offense does little to take advantage of his shooting talents. He gets an open shot once in a while due to rapid ball movement but I have not seen any plays designed to give him open shots. 2) Schuler needs to "want" the ball more often and "want" to get a shot off. Most of the time when he catches a pass, he is relatively stationery and someone can get on him very quickly. Part of that is the offense but true scorers (and he could be one) do a lot to "get themselves open" for a shot. I very seldom have seen that - he will take a shot when the opportunity presents itself but he doesn't create any (many) of those opportunities. Bottom line - I like Schuler and think he can be a real asset to the team. I wish our offense would work to utilize his shooting talent more often and that his mindset would become a more aggressive in creating shots for himsellf.
  12. You guys have done a hell of a job in getting UND fans to vote! Thanks! I fully agree that this is nothing more than a popularity contest (plus Liberty Mutual wants everyone to see their name every day for a month or so) BUT in case a potential recruit checks out the voting, it sure can't hurt that the UND coach is among the top vote getters. I have three e-mails addresses so I vote three times a day when I can. Again - thanks for rallying the troops!
  13. I am sure that we have withdrawn this offer. There is no way we would expend three scholarships on QBs.
  14. For those who are relatively new to this board, you can go to Wiki (on this site - see menu at top on home page) and click on 2012 FB Recruiting. You will see the list of kids that we have offered (and who else has offered), those who have committed to us, committed elsewhere and others we are looking at. I certainly am not going to tell you the list is perfect but it is updated whenever we learn anything new.
  15. Welcome to our board. Thanks for the positive comments - we are excited to be in the Big Sky!
  16. Welcome to the board - I see it is your first post. Interesting insight - does your analysis come from watching Comes and Hendrickson practice or di you hear this from another source? A championship next season???
  17. Appears to be a talented kid with great speed. He will visit UND the weekend of the Omaha hockey series so there should be a good atmosphere. USD was also recruiting him so that is likely on hold for now.
  18. Birck in the game - I am surprised she hasn't seen the floor yet this year.
  19. It's hard to tell just listening to the game. Not sure how well we may or may not be playing but we certainly have been controling the play.
  20. No discipline and little focus today! We looked like a bunch of sophomores today - that should improve but it was ugly!
  21. Unreal overtime so far - Montana has not scored yet!
  22. Thanks for the insight - I was wondering about that.
  23. Thanks, Ira - I was looking forward to your response. I am pleased that, if read into your comments correctly, that the current coaching staff does a good job of relaying the right message (family, Sioux Pride, academics, etc.) to our potential recruits.
  24. How has Jer enjoyed his first year at UND? He has a lot of talent and I am sure we will see a great deal of him in the future.
