HOCKEYTOWN USA CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
THETRIOUXPER replied to THETRIOUXPER's topic in Men's Hockey
It's too bad that the Siouxper Swing didn't meet people's expectations. This tournament should be everything that one was supposed to be and more. -

Hell, I don't even golf, but I'd go just to see all the celebs and take in the auction. -
HOCKEYTOWN USA CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
THETRIOUXPER replied to THETRIOUXPER's topic in Men's Hockey
This golf tourney is looking like it's going to be one hell of a good time. Any poster's on here thinking of participating? The list of celebs looks pretty good. Lot's of past and present Sioux players. It will be cool to see the DOT boys together one last time before Johnny embarks on his pro career. I hope I can make it to see those two Hobeys together. To top it all off it's for a great cause. -
Were you included in that?
-
Well, you know what they say. "You can wish in one hand and crap in the other, and see which gets filled first!"
-
It's my fault for the Duncan leaving after next year thing (I just lumped him in with the other NHL drafted players that may leave.) I just think it's a real possibility. The Blues ran a tough development camp, and from what I've heard and read, Dunc's held his own. Would I be suprised and delighted if he stayed all 4 years, hell yes, and I hope he does. However, if the opportunity should arise where he can ink himself an NHL deal after next year, I say "more power to ya kid." As far as "the source" goes, I'm down with the way he can articulate, disseminate, compensate, coagulate and dissapate, as Don King might put it.
-
That's alot more than anybody gets from one of your posts.
-
Exactly, we have already seen the last of the D.O.T. era, after this season the D and the O part of that will probably be gone. (Along with a couple other D's, as in defensemen, Chorney and Finley.)
-
Even if we were to win it this year, there is no way in hell you would see these guys together the following year. St. Louis is already chomping at the bit for Osh and possibly Duncs. The same goes for Chorney and Finely with their respective NHL teams.
-
The bottom line here is that Radke is filling a role that coaching staff has asked him to fill. I realize that there are naysayers who just think Radke sucks and that they moved him to forward because he can't play defense. That's a bunch of horseshit as far as I'm concerned.
-
This is just my opinion, but I think you guys are way off on Radke. I think the reason they moved him up to forward last season was just like RW said. They needed a little bit of grit, and that's what Radke brings. If you go headhunt the likes of Osh, Duncs, or are other skilled guys, you better be able to back it up. I don't want to open the old goon hockey and fighting is bad/good for the game debate, but our entire coaching staff played here, and the game was different when they did. They all understand the importance of "protecting" our skilled players. Again, this is simply my opinion.

No, but Sica's post sure has some shade's of "they better win it or else" to it. I was mereley trying to point out that we are fortunate as fans to be able to watch these kind of players. Plus, we get the added bonus of 4 (or more) of them deciding to stay here one more year, when they clearly could have moved on. Winning another National Championship is really beside the point here. Obviously, it is what you strive for, but reality is something quite different. As Siouxeleven's pointed out, if the effort is there, and they fall short, that's just the way things happen. I do agree with sica about one thing, being 4-7-1 at home is hardly acceptable.
-
I don't get it, hammer on them when they make the jump to the NHL for big bucks, and now we're hammering on them because they decided to stay, c'mon people. That's a bunch of bull$%!#. We should feel fortunate regardless of the season's outcome like Dagies already said.
-
I guess the point I was trying to make was that it is unusual in this sport for top end talent to forego the money and stay in school. That's all I was trying to get at.
-
Yes, thoughts are free, booze, stripper's and debauchery are extra, that's where the $$$ comes in.
-
Yeah, and if you see those guys, make sure to shake their hand and thank them for coming back, I know the'll appreciate the kind words as well. On a side note, if I were inticed by that kind of $$$, at that age, all I would be thinking about would be booze, stripper's, and all other kinds of debauchery. But hey, that's me.

After having a stellar performance last week at the Blues prospect camp, I can tell you that TJ is 100% coming back to play for the Sioux. I cant' say enough about all of these guys (Tj, Duncs, Chorney, Finley, and others,) and their commitment to UND. Put yourself in their shoes. Would you be able to turn down literally millions of $$$$, and put off a life-long dream of playing pro hockey if the opportunity presented itself? I respect every one of these guys and their decision to stay at UND and be part of something magical. I'm telling you folks, these guys are driven, they want to finish what couldn't be finished for two years in a row. Next year is going to be a hell of a year, I hope we all enjoy watching these guys play. I want them all to know that I appreciate the fact that they gave up the money to stay here one more year and try to win another title. It means alot to the fans, the Sioux Hockey program, the university, and the community. Plus it shows that we not only recruit top notch players, but quality people as well. Thanks again guys, and let's go get #8.

Doesn't siouxyeahyeah already have one of those?
-
I guess you neglected to read the part about the alumni and boosters. Maybe I don't understand what grousing is, but I interpret that as being "not good."
-
Hmmm, that's funny, I thought everything was just fine as far as the AD was concerned.
-
Sounds like the same s&!t the Devils feed ZPar. McInnis is trying to "call him out" through the media. Hey, it's all about the business, the Blues are just looking out for their best intrest. I can't say I blame them for that. That being said, I feel that TJ is totally committed to his UND teammates, coaches, and the fans, and if he said he is coming back, I have to believe him.
-
You can, if you got the right connections. I believe the prospects usually come in around the first or second week of June, get some campus orientation, and skate at the Ralpf for a week. But then again, what do I know I'm not a stalker.
-
Yeah, you could set a blind up near one of the greens and try to pick off incoming golf balls. That would rule.
-
Hell, I'm all for it. I might even start golphing on a regualr basis if I can carry a firearm with me.
-
Why do you need a shotgun on the golf course?
