The Force put a whuppin' on Lincoln tonight 7-3. They went 5-7 on the PP and are now 5-0 in the playoffs this year. See ya Saturday night at the UP.

I'm assuming that's 1:05 Eastern, 12:05 Central.

You're right...this thread has nothing to do with the Gophers. If I'm not mistaken, you said it was "disturbing" that someone could be a Bison fan and also a UND hockey fan, yet you are both a Gopher and Sioux hockey fan. So "nothing on this message board annoys you more than when somebody "scolds" you for liking the Gophers", yet you can tell people that it's disturbing if they like NDSU and Sioux hockey. OK, got it...makes perfect sense. I'll await your "I'm entitled to my own opinion" response from you.

You're just itching for someone to comment on you being a Sioux and Gopher fan to stir it up even further, aren't you? Well, I, for one, am not biting!

Yeah, I saw that at the end. I see that Dan Carcillo from the Flyers got suspended for delivering an elbow to Maxime Talbot of the Penguins on a faceoff with 7 seconds left in their game. With that precendent set, I'd be surprised if either Komisarek and/or Maxim Lapierre from Montreal don't get fined and suspended for their antics.

The 3rd period of the Chicago/Calgary game just ended and it is going to overtime. I've only watched about half of the 3rd period, but Pierre McGuire is gushing over Toews talking about how well he's played this game. Sounds like he's been a monster on faceoffs.

AMEN to that Goon!! Man, I am hoping so!

Game 5 and 6 (if played) of this series will be on Versus. The rest are on TSN. Not sure about if it's available or not on the Center Ice or any other packages - but I'd think it would be. I suppose this is all subject to change depending on how each series goes, too. Versus Stanley Cup Playoff TV Schedule

I wouldn't be surprised to see Schroeder gone. He'll be drafted high this year - may not be a Gopher next year.

I agree. I was hoping that this does not turn into a Fargo vs. GF thread. I think it's a good thing that the tournament rotates between the 2. As a player, I would love to play in the Ralph, but I would also love to play in a jam-packed 5,000 seat arena as well. No doubt the Ralph is one of the nicest arenas in the country, but I'd say the atmosphere at the UP Center would be on par or better than the Ralph - to play in front of 5,000 people filling it for a championship game rather than a 2/3rds full lower bowl at the Ralph. Back when I played HS hockey, we played the Central/RR games at the old Engelstad. That was one of the biggest games of the year and we were all excited to play at UND's arena. Looking back, I would have rather played at a sold-out Purpur and have people hanging over the glass than playing at a half empty arena.

This was talked about in other State HS Hockey Tournament threads, but thought it deserved its own thread. Committee to recommend Fargo gets North Dakota state hockey tournaments

Yeah, I don't disagree with that. But you can't tell me that if he was considering the college route that BU would "have no interest in him"!
-
Yeah, after this discussion started I went out and did some more research. I tend to agree by looking at the logo, website, etc. They are located right on the Long Island Sound, so I'd think that the Sound Tigers are "Tigers from the Long Island Sound" and not "hearing Tigers" or "Tigers that you can hear"! Man, I never thought I'd spend that much energy researching the Sound Tigers. I stand corrected!
-
I wouldn't put too much stock into Dan Hammer's pronunciation. I think "Sound Tigers" is just slang, or a way to shorten it up. I still think it's Bridgeport Sound........Tigers.
-
I like this quote: "His father listed North Dakota, Boston College and Boston University as possible destinations. However, BU coach Dave Quinn said he has no interest in Morin." Umm...yeah...sure. I wonder if Jack Parker has anything to say about that?

Bridgeport Sound........Tigers.

Now that there is nonsense. Lucic has nothing to worry about.

Runninwiththedogs is going to be at the game, too?

DaveK would be outraged at this! Quit celebrating a fight by Brian Lee. Have you no class?!

I'd like to know the detail behind that. That's a steal for Fairbanks. -
Heading East vs. New Hampshire, BU, and Ohio St.

Who cares if they're not there? We don't want them there anyways!

HA...thanks! I wish I would have had that link earlier - would have saved me some time yesterday.

I had to do this the old fashioned manual way, by going to NDSU's website, clicking on each home game to see the stats and adding up the attendance myself. Here is what I came up with. All 15 home games - average attendance was 3336. Of those home games, 2 were exhibitions (vs. U of Mary and MSU-Moorhead). If you take those 2 games out of the equation, the average for the remaining 13 home games was 3596.

Last night they had 2880. Over the course of the season they are 2nd in the league behind Lincoln, averaging 3309 per game. I would assume that this is tickets bought and not necessarily the number of butts in the seats - but I'm not sure. USHL League Attendance
