So the big election is today...when will we start to hear about the results?
-
I can't speak for Goon, but I'm not disappointed that the Bruins got 2 first round and 1 second round draft pick for him. Claude Julien is a good coach and he clashed with Kessel. 1 guess as to why...if you guessed that Kessel didn't want to play defense you are correct. Word is he demanded a trade out of Boston. What a punk. Kessel had a great year last year and as a Bruin I was glad...but now I can go back to hating the guy as he's a Maple Leaf. He was a bitch when he played for the Gophers and he's doing it again now in the NHL. Good luck with him, Mr. Burke. And have fun in Toronto, Kessel. Wait until the Leafs suck it up again this year, only now you're in Toronto and you'll have everyone and their sister wanting to hunt you down.

I agree with you, and I'm not going to lie...I wouldn't have cancelled DirecTV because of this. I also believe that at some point here they'll strike a deal with Versus and it'll be back. However, another poster mentioned that they got the NHL Center Ice package for free because of it and I thought I'd give it a shot.
-
THANK YOU for letting us know. I now also have the NHL Center Ice package (HD as well) for free this year! SWEEEET!!!!

Yes, I believe if you look at the numbers for the U-18 team they are the lower numbers, and the U-17's have the higher numbers.

This could be good news for Oshie. US Team Looking for Stars, Grinders
-
In my expert opinion, the only question mark there is Oshie. I'd say Parise (US) and Toews (CAN) should easily be on their country's teams on the men's side and the Lamoureaux girls should make the US team on the women's side. Toews may not be a "shoe-in" for Canada, but he should make it.

Maybe this is a dumb question and we all should know this, but who did Zajac marry? Where did she go to school? Should I know this?
-
NOOOO...say it ain't so, Denny! I just know that Denny could have gone pro driving the Zamboni, but chose to stay at UND...he'll be missed.

Wow...I consider myself an adamant nickname supporter, but don't think I'd go that far as to wish Brand to rot in hell. I am not a fan of his by any stretch of the imagination, but come on...he is a human with pancreatic cancer.

Funny: Head Coach: Darren Turcotte, North Bay, Ont. I'm assuming this is Darren Turcotte from Boston, who coaches in Ontario, but still looks funny seeing this on the roster.

This could have all been avoided if they hadn't upped the deadline. And if the reason to do that had to do with the Summit League, then why not up the deadline to 12/31/2009? They knew when the tribal elections would be, and that gives 3 months after the election for this exact scenario.
-
Even if it does come down to Murphy and RHHIT, am I correct in my thought that only one of them will win, and it looks good since Murphy had double the votes in this primary? Although, you never know where the other 200 and some votes that the other person who took 3rd will go to.
-
2 votes?!! We were 2 votes shy of never having to hear from Ron His Donkey's Farting again?!!
-
When were the tribal elections to take place? Wasn't that supposed to be July 15 (yesterday), or am I mistaken?
-
Yeah, this surprised me as well. Why keep him on as the GM through the draft, let him build the team for next year and then can him? If you're going to do it, why not do it as their season ended? I wonder if it didn't have to do with the issue about their free agents and missing the deadline to fax them their qualifying offers, which the NHLPA has since filed a greivance against the team?
-
He'd sure look nice wearing a jersey with a great big "B" on the front.
-
So they're back together again! Separated at birth? Look at the last names...is it just a cover? Lemaire or Lamoriello? Lamoriello or Lemaire? You make the call.

USHL officials aspire to move up, and the WCHA is not "moving up" from the USHL in the officiating sense. WCHA officials aren't going anywhere, except to the retirement home.

SIOUX Recruits - 2008-09 Updates, Monitoring Their Junior League Play
Ray77 replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Yes, there are 2 new teams in the USHL this year, Team USA and the Youngstown (Ohio) Phantoms. -
I agree...if you're a recruit and you've paid any attention to how Eaves handles his roster and number of players coming in, I'd say "Thanks but no thanks" to Wisconsin.

Leigh Steinberg? Arn Tellem? Drew Rosenhaus in an NFL agent who I think is a scumbag.

The Wild better hope Havlat stays healthy. This past year he played in 81 games, but here's his stats since the lockout: 2005-2006 played 18 games and had 16 points 2006-2007 played 56 games and had 57 points 2007-2008 played 35 games and had 27 points 2008-2009 played 81 games and had 77 points Looks like he scores about a point a game, so if he stays healthy he could be a nice pickup. He's only 28 years old, and the Wild saved 7.5 million. Gaborik got 5 years, $37.5M and Havlat got 5 years, $30M. It'd be interesting to compare these 2 guy's stats a few years down the road to see how this turned out for each team.
