Ahhh...looks like you are correct. From the 2006-08 Men's & Women's Ice Hockey Rules and Interpretations:

Three fights, done for the season.
  3. I agree with SIOUXELEVEN's post...I think I read the post that you're referring to and it said that the player in question needed a kick in the ass, not to get his ass kicked - big difference. In case it's still unclear to you, here's an example: You give your kid a kick in the ass when he screws up and gets an F on a test at school. You kick another guy's ass if he hits on your girlfriend/wife. Does that help? Is it too much to ask for you to let it go now? Maybe I'm mistaken in what I read about the ass-kicking comment, but if that's the case can you please show me (and the rest of us) the posting?
  4. He came out of retirement after the season had started, so hasn't played in many games. O'Connell Ends Retirement To Help Thunder
  5. Wow...was Shepherd's reply written in English? If anyone knows how to translate that reply to English I would appreciate it. Goon...did you copy and paste his reply or is this paraphrased?
  6. I hate to disagree with you, but I'm going to. I coached youth hockey for several years and some of the parents would do stats for us. When they asked what stats we (coaches) wanted, my reply was the only stat that I care about was +/-, and more specifically just the "-" part of +/-. I want to know who's in the ice when we're giving up goals. If you're on the ice for more goals scored for your team than what you're giving up, that's a huge "+" in my book. I could care less who was doing the scoring, as long as it was our team. Now, I admit that youth hockey is a bit different than WCHA hockey, however I think the priciple is the same. I'm not saying Finley is the best player on the team because he leads +/-, but if you're on the ice more when the Sioux score than when the opposition scores, you're doing your job...especially if you're a defenseman.
  7. How would Finland (2-2) get the last change vs. the US (4-0)?
  8. I'm listening to it, too...but where did you find a video webcast at? I'll give it a try.
  9. Any idea why the US game wouldn't be available to watch on this?
  10. USA leads 5-0 over Finland with 8:00 left in the 2nd period on goals by Wilson (3 - natural hat trick), Ruegsegger (1) and vanRiemsdyk (1).
  11. Speaking of character: "We're extremely excited about the possibility of Kyle joining our organization soon," general manager Garth Snow said. "He's a great talent, one of the most exciting prospects in the game. Kyle has the dedication and character we want for our franchise." Oh really? Hopefully he's a bit more dedicated and shows more character with the Islanders than he did with the Gophers. "While I'm disappointed Kyle is leaving at this point of the season, his dream has been to play pro hockey," Minnesota coach Don Lucia said. "It is unfortunate that the Islanders put him in a very difficult position. I think our team has made strides the last few weeks, and I'm looking forward to the second half of the season."
  12. YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSSS! Time to get my PTO request in at work!
  13. At first when I heard this I thought after the Chris Simon incident that the Islanders would be bringing him straight to the NHL - and that's what Okposo wanted, however after reading the TSN story he may play in the AHL or even the WHL (Canadian juniors). That, to me, says he just wanted out of Minnesota.
  14. Scott Burnside, an NHL writer on ESPN.com, is following Toews and Kane's progress throughout the season and doing periodic articles on them. Here is the latest. Rookie duo Kane and Toews growing on fans and teammates alike
  15. But I'm sure whoever it is that sits behind the Sioux bench that you are referring to will be pleased that he was compared with Kauker and Gretzky!
  16. From John Buccigross's weekly NHL column on ESPN.com. Question from fan: Hey Bucci, After your column about the Hall from a few weeks ago, I was wondering what you think about Zach Parise. The kid is on fire. It is very early in the season and in his career, but how do you project his career turning out? Happy Holidays, Kurt Simer Reply from Buccigross: Zach Parise is one of my favorite players to watch in the NHL. He should be a threat to get 35 to 40 goals and 80 to 90 points in the next five seasons. He has that beautiful combination of someone who plays hard, fast and smart, but is also durable. Some people are born to play hockey. Parise is one of them.
  17. Are you referring to Jeff Bredahl...Maurice Gibbs's defense lawyer?
  18. Why wouldn't you bring him in ASAP? That gives him a good month or just over a month to get acquainted with the team and the schedule/routine, feel like he belongs, get practice time in, etc. You add him to the team in January and now he's lost a month of practice time.
  19. Hennessey was just on PA and Dubay's show and they gave a plug for the Green/White weekend!
  20. Hakstol was just on the show...I just tuned in and missed it...anyone know what was said?
  21. I've always liked Hakstol - thought he was a good guy, good coach, etc. Now I admire him more than ever. FINALLY someone steps up. Not only that, but his comments are well-thought out, well-spoken, intelligent and positive. I heard a bit of his comments on the Dan Hammer show today over lunch, and Hakstol is a true leader. I'm not so sure that just because of this the Sioux will keep the name, but I do applaud and respect Hakstol for this.
  22. Exactly...I'm not sure that I'd be bragging about "owning" the Ralph after losing what was billed as the biggest college hockey upset ever at the REA!!!
