As big of a UND fan I am, I don't think UND fits the criteria of what the Big Ten is looking for even if it is just for an BTHC-only affiliation.

Cool news but the rivalry isn't going to be like it ever was when they were conference-mates. Games against Denver and most likely Miami are going to be more hyped. Still, it doesn't hurt to continue playing the gophers. Won't be the same though.

Lol this is the best explanation I mean excuse you got? Most people don't even know Ohio State has a hockey team! Hell, just look at their attendance at home games. OSU students don't even know! National exposure and Ohio State hockey....haha! Funny. Also, if I recall UND hockey games were the highest watched games for the NBC Sports Network. Trumping games of Michigan and Notre Dame that they aired. I mean come on dude. It's bloody hockey that we are talking about!

A alternative option to the webcast is to consider investing in a Slingbox. There are some stipulations before it is a viable option. Namely, you need to place the Slingbox in someone's home who gets Midcontinent cable. In my case, it's my parents' house(I'm a DirecTV subscriber). Secondly, you need to make sure they have a high enough internet upload rate so that the HD channel quality won't get degraded. Recommended would be an upload/download speed of 1.5 Mbps or higher. You'd also have to be sure to connect the Slingbox to a DVR or HD Receiver that isn't frequently used otherwise you'd be battling for control of said device. Otherwise, could place a dedicated DVR/HD Receiver in their house and simply pay an annual(or monthly) fee for the receiver lease. Set-up is really simple as well. Either way, I've been using a Slingbox for over a year now and I get the HD channels in crystal clear quality. The initial investment is a bit steep but I think in the long run is worth it.

Their decision to draft Stefan Matteau at #29 last year is looking even more worse for the Devils. They should've forfeited their pick that year but stupidly decided to use the pick when now it is very likely the Devil's are going to be forfeiting a higher position 1st round pick. Doh!

The first regular season of the NCHC hasn't even started yet and the current commissioner leaves for a different job. The conference has been fumbling ever since leaving the starting gate.

UND losing out on Garrett Clarke wasn't a bad thing, losing out on Steffy Matteau wasn't a bad thing either. Talk about an immature brat. He's how old? 18/19?

I hope Forbort doesn't go. He really stepped up this season. If he stuck around he'd be a huge anchor for us on the blueline. Who will be the incoming freshies? I can already say I think scoring is going to be hard to find...I think a lot of pressure is going to be put on Grimaldi and Mark MacMillan to produce. Hopefully Gothberg gets things going next year though I do tip my hat to Saunders' effort against Yale. Dude is the only reason that kept us in the game.

If only UND could do that. UND continuing to show they can't go all the way to win another title. Once again the clamoring for Hakstol to be fired will be bigger.
