  1. They have a national title banner in the rafters, they built a new arena, they seem quite committed to hockey. Plus Sandelin? lol To keep this going, why CC? Never mind, every conference needs a doormat or two.
  2. I'll preface this by saying I'm fine with St. Cloud in the NCHC. They have been flourishing so far. However, their admission to the NCHC in my opinion made a mockery of the reasons/justifications of why the NCHC formed in the first place. They were the sloppy seconds that the NCHC admitted since the hot girl(Notre Dame) didn't join for even numbers purposes.
  3. Who cares if they are DII in other sports? This is about hockey. Especially when one could say UND is a mediocre FCS school.... I've already shared my thoughts in the thread about ASU but I'm all for Mankato joining the NCHC. Would love another easy weekend road trip plus Mankato has been fielding a competitive hockey team since Hastings became head coach of the program. The NCHC threw away their principles when they admitted St. Cloud.
  4. So there's a chance that UND will actually beat BC this season?
  5. Agree to disagree. While I get the whole "big brother" aspect of UND/Bemidji. I've always found Bemidji's style of play boring as hell. Do what you have to, to win but no thanks on having to play for conference points.
  6. I may be in the minority but I'd be all for Mankato joining the NCHC. The conference made a joke of their own principles the day they invited St. Cloud. I enjoyed the Mankato games and wouldn't mind having another opponent in the conference that is a manageable road trip. ----------------------------- Miami and WMU aren't going to be leaving any time soon. Are people forgetting the huge buyout price to leave? It's a pretty good hindrance. Are the respective schools willing to pay that price to only have to sink even more money to start up a new conference? A lot of risk for something that has no guarantee of success. At least with the formation of NCHC, there was equal commitment. Don't think Miami or WMU would get that with all the proposed members of the new conference they'd form. I haven't seen too many Miami fans complain about the NCHC. Western Michigan is a different story.
  7. So Wisconsin ends up having 2 players selected in the first round in current player Luke Kunin and now incoming player Trent Frederic at #29. Of course it was Boston going off the board with the pick.
  8. Haha and after posting this, a Denver commit gets drafted 23rd overall.
  9. Yep. Exactly. Put the logo on the shoulder. Keep North Dakota script with number on the front. What's the matter with that? BC and UMass Lowell do it like that. They can make an alternate jersey with the logo on the front if they really want to.
  10. UND should adopt a real live hawk that can fly inside the REA. When the Gophers come to town, REA staff should let loose a live gopher on the ice and then unleash the hawk to swoop in and kill the Gopher. Nothing like a little pre-game bloodletting to get the fans amped!
  11. Huge bummer to see Schmaltz sign. Can't blame him though. He's got an opportunity to jump right into playing in the NHL. He could've been a dominant player for UND next year but I think he's ready either way. It was fun being able to watch him these past two years. Huge part in winning #8. Good luck in the pros, Nick!
  12. I have noticed that B1G fans can't wrap their heads around this.
  13. I find it humorous that there's a CHL defender of the faith poster debating CHL vs. NCAA when there's a discussion on HFBoards about CHL vs. CIS where Canadian posters are saying CIS is better hockey than CHL! CHL is a great alternative for development but when it comes to the level of play, NCAA will be better overall but it's unfair to even compare the two considering the age gap being a huge factor alone.
  14. Been re-reading old game day threads from this season. Which has made me realize how fortunate and spoiled we were as fans. We didn't have to watch this team lose a whole lot and when they did, they bounced back. I think the biggest test was seeing how UND would respond to getting swept at Denver. There was that Wisconsin loss which was an anomaly but that was a small blip on the radar. And of course, there was the disappointment of the Frozen Faceoff. But with that said, I don't think it was a bad thing. Every NCHC team that has won the Frozen Faceoff tournament so far has went on to lose in the first game of the NCAA tournament. Enjoy that Frozen Faceoff banner, Jan!
  15. It was playing time, must've not realized that in NCAA, you have to earn it. He took the easy route to get more playing time. 16. If true, good luck in the NHL, LaDue! You were a solid defenseman for UND while you were here. Plus, always good to see local ND kids playing for UND. Crossing my fingers and hoping Schmaltz stays.
  17. Ask and ye shall receive: North Dakota vs Northeastern(Midwest Regional Semifinal) -- https://youtu.be/JIQX7j1upK0 North Dakota vs Michigan(Midwest Regional Final) -- https://youtu.be/c2SUErLnn9E I wanted to do a highlights video of all the goals that North Dakota scored in the 2016 tournament but I lack the patience for video editing.
  18. What info does the %gobc have? Get the scoop before Schlossman blogs about it, gf.
  19. Yep, I remember Prpich doing that as well. I always felt bad for the token player(s) that the majority of users would rag on. I hope Brian Lee and Joe Finley weren't regular readers.
  20. Good luck to Stecher with Vancouver! He was a big part in raising #8 and ending the championship drought. His presence will definitely be missed. Gotta strike when the iron is hottest though. I will continue to root for him and hope to see him get a shot in the NHL.
  21. There is no doubt his numbers are inflated because of playing Big Ten opponents. 43 of Connor's 71 points came from conference play while the remaining 28 points came from non-conference play. Just prior to the start of the NCAA tournament, Michigan only played 3 opponents that were in the Top 15 of the PWR which was Boston University(x2) and Michigan Tech. He only had 2 assists total in those 3 games. If you want to add playing Notre Dame and North Dakota then he had 0 goals, 4 assists total against teams in the Top 15 of the PWR. PS This isn't intended as a knock on Connor, he's an amazing talent but when it comes to his stats, they were definitely inflated. Who Michigan played wasn't in his control though.
