  2. DU 2 UofME 0
  3. DU up 1-0 on minny
  4. Motzko might be wise to bench Marvin now.
  5. You have absolutely no basis for such a statement. You don't know that the issue goes away, and you certainly don't know that UND gets into the Summit immediately.
  6. It is an embarrassment to the WCHA that this weekends results probably hinge on how effective Gwoz is in whining to the refs.
  7. Dang, I never made it this far before. Friday - Malone Saturday - Vandy
  8. The question of the day is: "Who the hell was in charge at NDSU if it wasn't Chapman?" You seem to think that it is a perfectly acceptable excuse that absolutely no one was in charge, that no one had a clue about a major construction project on the NDSU campus, and that the President's wife and assistant were on the committee and he knew nothing. Plain and simple it was Chapman's responsibility to know and to manage what takes place on campus. It is quite possible that no crime was committed, but that fact does not make it morally and ethically proper.
  9. I doubt that a different approach, since the NCAA settlement would have made any difference. Tribes move on their own schedule, called IT (Indian Time). We have many dealings with Native Americans, set up meetings, etc. They show up when they show up. It could be one hour late, two hours late, or not at all. It takes two to tango, and when dealing with tribes, it is often a one-sided dance. They will get to it when, and if, they get to it. That is just their way. It is difficult for anyone who hasn't dealt with a tribe to understand it, but that is the way that their culture works. It is simply fact. If UND had been more proactive over the past decades, that might have made a difference.
  10. Pointless?? POINTLESS?? I had Gregoire for Sioux Survivor tonight. That is not Pointless!!
  11. DU 1 WI 0 3:00 left in the 1st
  12. Cornell PP is 0 for their last 19. St. Cloud up 1-0
  13. We go for the hockey and to spend time with Sioux fans. The 2-2-2 format on Thursday - Saturday is just fine. I take the whole day off any way on Thursday to drive down (3 hours or so). Saturday morning brunch at Hoggsbreath (right MafiaMan!!) for Sioux fans is a great time. We sit beside a couple of great Gopher fans ( they won't cheer for the Sioux and we won't cheer for the Gophers). They can have a naming contest for the six team event. Even with low attendance at some of the games, this tournament outdraws any other conference tournament by far. It is all about the hockey, even if Dagies is trying to call security on me!
  14. It was just a few years ago that UMD had a senior laden team and Sandelin could get nothing out of them. He finally wound up benchming some of them late in the year. They had a lot of down years before this year.
  15. Friday - Kristo Saturday - Gregoire
  16. Gophers are 5-1 in their last six games. However, their five wins came against teams that have won a grand total of 8 games this year, combined. Michigan Tech (3), Bowling Green (3), and Harvard (2). The loss was against Northern Michigan, which has won 9 games.
  17. Hextall and Knight were sitting up by us last night, wearing matching ankle boots.
  18. I believe that the key to this team is going to be whether or not the inury parade stops or at least slows down. We know about the major ones such as Genoway, Zajac, Hextall (current one), but there have been a number of other ones. This is actually Hextall's second of the year. He played through the first one, but his current scoring hot streak coincides with recovery from an earlier injury. Zajac has obviously been playing hurt for some time. Van de Velde also had a significant injury, but played through it. Dell is now hurt. Others have been badly dinged up. I've also seen comments that LaPoint is not fully recovered from his broken leg. In November we had a week where we could only field 17 skaters for practice due to injury. Yes, everyone has injuries, but the Sioux had been struck down mightily the first half of the season. More than anything else, I think injury will define the last part of the Sioux season. If they get healthy, look out. If they don't it could be a struggle.
  19. Is there a reason my pick for today (Gregoire) is crossed out? Is it an oops, or do you just want to give me a second chance at today's choice?
  20. Saturday - Hextall Sunday - Gregoire
  21. Just be prepared to order how spicy you want your food, from 1 to 16, I believe.
  22. Mrs. Siouxman and I would like to wish a very Merry Christmas to all of the wonderful SS.com members and other Sioux fans that we have met through the forum and in person at the Final Five, home and away Sioux games, regionals, and the Frozen Four. Win or lose, these have all been wonderful experiences that we will treasure. God's peace and blessings to you all.
  23. NOTE: Make it the original Red Pepper on University Ave. It looks the same now as when I was in college in the 1970's. There is a shiny new glitzy Red Pepper on 42nd Ave. North, but it just doesn't have the ambiance of the original. Double ham, double cheese grinder with taco meat, extra mayo, extra hot. Nothing else like it. It will stay with you for hours!
  24. I PM'd you. I have two you can have for free.
  25. Friday - Gregoire I will deal with Saturday on Saturday if I get that far.
