So the atmosphere at the Ralph is irrelevant. Great! Maybe now people will quit complaining about it, although they are entitled to their opinion.

I believe that you can be both a Sioux fan and a Gopher fan, if and only if: 1) you are a chimera (originally twins, but one absorbed the other in the womb and both sets of DNA still exist in the person) 2) you have multiple personalities that hate each other Other than that you cannot be a true Sioux fan and a Gopher fan. It's Newton's first law of duplicity.

Actually I am not upset about this at all and see it as a positive thing. First and foremost, to get any kind of business deal done with a tribe is like trying to pull teeth with nerf tweezers. Absolutely nothing happens. There has to be a near-term deadline. Setting the sooner deadline takes some of the negotiating time and position away from the other side. There are two possible scenarios to this situation. (1) The tribes, or at least RHHIT, have been posturing for money, personal favors, etc., whatever and drawing this thing out endlessly without actually dealing with it, before finally sitting down to discuss it, or (2) no way, no how is the Fighting Sioux name going to continue. If it is (1), there is now a deadline and the tribes have to act and get their butts to the table. They have a stake in this and the clock is now really ticking on getting it done. It is time to put up or shut up and get this thing done. And if there is substantial progress and light at the end of the tunnel by Oct. 1, the SBoHE can vote an extension to allow agreements to be finalized. If no progress, it is on to (2). If it is (2), it never was going to happen so let's get it over and move on. I am tired of the rhetoric, bison scat, and everything else that has been going on. Let's just take the woe-is-me pulpit away from the name-changers and let them go search for their next target of self-victimization. This is a hard and fast deadline to see if something can be done. We will now know much sooner rather than later.

Many Sioux fans live outside of Grand Forks. I live two hours away, and I do not read the GF Herald. Therefore I had no idea the concert was even scheduled. But even if I had known, I have to admit that I would not have purchased tickets. Not because of the act, but because we haven't bought tickets for any other act playing in Grand Forks, with the exception of Bill Cosby. Its a distance thing. I would think there are many other Sioux fans in the same position. Don't paint us all with your tainted brush.

I would support the tribes receiving financial gain from marketing of the Fighting Sioux name and logo, provided that financial gain was in the form of scholarships and educational opportunities for Native Americans from reservations in North Dakota or Native Americans who are North Dakota citizens. The granting of these opportunities and scholarships should be through an independent group not tied to any Tribal Council to prevent any appearance of favoritism or opportunity to funnel off the funds. And I would really like to see a Sioux cultural heritage center as part of The Ralph complex that is dedicated to the education of tribal history, culture, and traditions. The total impetus would be education: opportunities for North Dakota reservation or North Dakota citizen Native Americans (I don't know if Native Americans living on the reservation are state citizens or not), and opportunities for non-Native Americans to learn about the Sioux culture.

I will give you one example. Several years ago the Maine Black Bears came to The Ralph after losing their coach to cancer. There was a Sioux tribal ceremony on the ice for the Maine coach and all who had passed away during the prior year. I believe that the Maine people did get quite an education.

And some Sioux fans still haven't figured out that the days of that style of play are gone. Yes, big physical defensemen can be a plus, but in a manner of simply moving people. Laying the physical beating on BU and BC like the Sioux did out east in the regional a few years ago will result in a permanent power play. The times have changed, no matter what we think about WCHA refs. The inconsistency remains, just on a different level.

Best of luck to one of the best persons to ever put on the Sioux jersey.

There is no doubt that the DOT line was great, and I believe that DOT will have a better NHL total, but the Hrkac circus was absolutely dominant in college. Even having seen them play in person, when I saw a highlight reel a couple of years ago I had forgotten just how sickenly phenomenal that Hrkac line was. They absolutely toyed with people. Hrkac Circus has to be all time #1 UND line.

Great article. Thank you Sioux for the memories. Thank you Brad for the writeup. And I hope everyone truly appreciates the severe injuries a number of players were dealing with at the end of the year. That is incredible.

Do you realize that VT went 2-1 against BU this year. This is not a cakewalk for BU.

Good luck Joe. Thank you for sharing your hockey skills with us for the past four years. It should be good to get into a league where you don't automatically get a penalty because your elbows happen to be at the elevation of some of the other players helmets.

I am looking forward to the coming season, especially if VV stays. With him in the fold I expect the Sioux to do quite well. Most WCHA teams appear poised to lose a lot of talent and three of the top five scorers for the Sioux come back next year. Eidsness will be in his second year, so I expect a better start and a good year. I think that I am more optimistic going into next year than I was going into this year.

MTU has a long rich history with the WCHA. Because of that I would hate to see them leave. At one time they were a powerhouse. UAA on the other hand is a geographic challenge for the WCHA and does not not have a storied history in the WCHA. I would prefer to see BSU replace UAA.

BU gets to play Vermont, who beat BU 2 out of 3 times this year.

Nobody made me God! But Webster defines constructive as "building up; helpful and I haven't seen that expressed much at all. Whining is not constructive criticism. Comments that suggest it might have been better to play that last regulation face-off in a specific manner would be constructive criticism. Stating simply that someone is a slow pylon is simply criticism. I simply would hope that people would have a little more respect and appreciation for the effort of this team this year, what it went through, and the very significant injuries a number of them played through in just today's game. Those that want to criticize and lay blame, have it at it. It is too long until next October to be that bitter and when you can move on to someone else in the fall.
-
I will note "constructive" criticism when I see it. So far I have not.
-
Amen! People need to button it and appreciate what this team did this year!

It depends upon the refreshments.

Hold it - hold it. Ah, there it is, the FIFTH OT!

That is the nap effect of the lacrosse game.

Malone! 2-1 Great move.

No - it goes until someone scores or everyone dies!
