I was surprised that they praised Shepherd for the weekend. I guess I can't comment on the whole weekend, but there were two hits on Lamoureux on Sat, I believe, that in my opinion should have been penalties. The second, late in the game, Morin sure looked like he unnecessarily charged Phillipe. Am I wrong on this? I'm not saying it would have changed the game, but for crying out loud, is Shepherd saying that you can knock our goalie around without repercussion? Enough hacking on the refs, but does it take somebody getting hurt for him to make a call??

From what has been said, I assume that it is left up to the coach. I don't think there is an NCAA policy on it. I don't remember ZPar sitting out any games, and I don't remember any punishements in the Blarney ordeal. However, I do accept the fact that these three may have to deal with punishment, whether it be a slap on the wrist or game suspensions. We are all going to have to accept that fate. My biggest issue is that these kids jeopardized themselves being put in that situation when they went into the bar that night. There is no reason that they shouldn't know better.

I think it was utter stupidity on their part. I'm seriously disappointed in these boys. I know it happens, but if you really need to drink, do it at home! Don't go out and get caught, for crying out loud!

I can't begin to tell how proud I am of the boys. I figured that they were going to get burned this weekend, BIGTIME. After Friday night's game, I actually believed that they could sweep. To have them actually do it, I am SO PROUD to be a Sioux fan. Congratulations, Gentlemen!!!

I remember a Sioux goalie giving up a similar goal in the past. Was it Kollar? Or Dickson? or Couture?

I still don't understand the draw of going over to some other team's forums. I could care less about Holy Cross hockey or even Minnesota hockey. I care about Sioux hockey, and thus I am here. Can someone explain what I do not currently understand?

This is all possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard/read/witnessed... I would be embarrassed to be asking for the regalia back. Is it just me, or are these people playing the role of the spoiled child...

One of the things that I'm most ashamed of is that my negativity ended up directed at someone who is trying to do the best that he knows how and represent the jersey that he is wearing to the best of his abilities. As a parent, had I been sitting near someone boo'ing my child, I would have felt horrible for both parties: the sap doing the boo'ing/yelling, and my child, just doing what he knows. Either way, as a Fighting Sioux fan, I think it was reprehensible. Yes, it was done in the heat of the moment, but by God, these kids are out there doing the best that they can with the tools that they were given. That's more than I can say for my drunk butt passing judgement from the bleachers. Yes, I'm frustrated with the way things are going for the team, but boo'ing a college athlete is way out of line compared to boo'ing a professional athlete. These kids are mostly just that, kids. They deserve a chance to do their best in a positive atmosphere. I understand that opposing fans will be less than positive, but their own fans need not knock them down. It should be us who are cheering them on and raising them up to the heights that they are capable. As for my open letter, yes, it was probably more self-serving than anything, but I did it with the small hope that Phil might somehow reach word and know that the jacka$$ in the seats realizes how out of line he was. Enough out of me. I know I'll do what I can do give these kids my utmost support from now on, instead of the negative drivel that I was laying down on Saturday night.

Mr. Lamoureux, I owe you the most sincere apologies. You see, after you entered the game against Michigan Tech on Saturday night, I went so far as to yell, "You suck, Lamoureux," at the top of my lungs even after boo'ing at your entrance to the game. Yes, as you can guess, alcohol was involved. I am not proud of my actions and deeply regret my negativity and outright classlessness. There is no excuse for my behavior. My only reason is frustration, of which, over the past few weeks, I am sure you are familiar with. You deserve more respect than that, for you wear a jersey that bears the name of the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux. As we all know, hockey is a team sport, and no single player, coach or fan can take all of the blame or all of the glory for the actions of a group of people. I truly believe that I took my own part in disgracing the name on your jersey, and beg your forgiveness that I be allowed back on the "team" of UND fans who are proud and supportive. We all have our moments of weakness, and I ask that you be as patient with mine as I will be of you and your coaches and your team. Best of luck to you, Mr. Lamoureux. I guess my interpretation of a "skippy" is someone who comes in here and either talks overly negatively about the Sioux or talks about how their favorite team is the best in the world. Anyway, all of this is done to work up a storm of useless debate. You seem to have enough sense on your shoulders that it's hard to believe you are really a Gopher fan! All in all, I'm just kidding, and should probably go back to work...

I have a hard time with this. How do schools like Wisconsin consistently identify those goalies? I would think the common link would have to be coaching, then that develops those players. (No, I'm not trying to pick on the UND coaching staff.) Seems to me that we've had more mediocre goalies since 88/89 than good ones. Schweitzer had only 1 good year. Goehring and Parise could save games. That's 8 years out of the last 19, while it seems schools like Wisconsin have a stellar goalie year in and year out.

I'm not saying that they aren't going to drink and have a good time and party, etc., but if they are making bad judgement about the situations they are in off the ice, how do you expect them to make good decisions on the ice? All I'm talking about is a good butt-chewing...victims or not, they have to accept a little responsibility for what happens in these cases. There's a legal term for this that I can't think of right now... Anyway, being a coach, I'd be quite ticked when a player's actions off the ice take him away from playing...

Did I get this wrong? Was there a "party" involved? Despite the injuries, if I were Parker, I would be chewing some of my athletes a new one for even being close to the situation. No, I'm not saying any punishment should necessarily be meted out, but just because a person isn't doing anything wrong doesn't mean that bad things don't happen in these situations. And college parties are just ripe with the prospect of trouble. Whether it be this instance, Mn players in a bar, or ZPar in the bar, wouldn't you think there are enough examples out there for college athletes to realize that it's better to lay low and keep your nose clean?

As for the WCHA refs favoring Minn and Wisc, I disagree. I think they suck across the board. Period. No favoritism, just suckitism...

Plenty of dead deer along the road between Grand Forks and Devils Lake. I think I heard a quote some time back about having buck scent, a powerful rifle, et al, and not being able to find a deer, but put a brand new truck on the road going 65mph and I'll be darned if they don't jump right out in front of you...

Stupid Question # 1: What is beer pong, and what are the rules?

Lesson 1. A networked computer must have some sort of network card. Every network card must have a unique MAC address from the manufacturer. MAC addresses can be spoofed. Lesson 2. A computer must be associated with a public IP address to be on the Internet. IP addresses resolve in various ways to a MAC address. IP addresses can also be spoofed. Lesson 3. Spoofing is easy enough, both MAC and IP addresses, but gets more complex as more security measures are in place. Tracing and logging who and what are going where and when is also not that difficult if the effort is put in place. Lesson 4. I need to get back to work...

Seems pretty weak. From what little I did read, the NCAA is saying "we're doing this because we think we are right". On the other hand, UND is coming from a legal point of view. I foresee rioting in the streets of Grand Forks if UND doesn't win this one!
