  1. If my uncle had boobs he'd be my aunt....
  2. Thanks all for the responses on the one ticket for both Friday games. Makes sense to me. As for the no selling of alcohol, I guess that's why I took Friday off!!!! To get good and liquored up before the game. Oh wait, I don't drink.........much
  3. I'm not debating that they won't make the tournament. It's probably mathematically impossible for them NOT to make the tournament. I think they could go one game and out if Elliott doesn't start saving their butts. I watched the games against them here in the Forks, and it looked to me like their men against our boys. But maybe Elliott is the only player worth his salt on that team.
  4. I bought my tickets on the first sale day. I don't have season tickets. However, I could have sworn that I bought the three game package deal, but I only have tickets for Friday's 5:30 game and Saturday's 8:00 game. Is this correct? I'm assuming the second game on Friday follows immediately after the 5:30 game, and that will be my ticket??
  5. Are you insinuating that he was driving the Jeep? Personally, I think it was someother Gopher player...
  6. I'm talking about this season. If they don't turn it around, and fall off the face of the planet this year, they will have blown a really good start to 3/4 of the season. Would it be enough for Eaves to get the boot?
  7. Please don't boot my arse for talking about Wisconsin!! I'm not trying to discredit Mankato, but things seem to be a little silly over at Bucky U. Doesn't it seem like a coaching problem when you lose a good goalie and the team starts to have issues? Granted, Connelly had big shoes to fill, and I'm sure Elliott has lost a little confidence being out for a while, but I almost feel sorry for those guys over there. It's never fun watching someone on a path of self-destruction. Do they have the skill, will, and coaching to turn things around before it's too late?
  8. Wow, I'd better get away from this thread before I find myself addicted to Geritol.
  9. It's never too early to start drinking. The question is, "Is it too late to quit drinking?"
  10. 6 of one...etc. I was actually thinking of 2002 when they had the FF in St. Paul. Back then they still had the first round bye in the regionals, and MN had to play CC to get home to the FF. Granted, they did have a much better team and a much better record.
  11. I give UND better odds against BU or Miami coming in as the No. 1. (Isn't that how Minny won her first champ in 2002 with a weak field at home for the regionals :-) ) I'd also like to see them kick some gopher butt for the chance to play in the FF this year too.
  12. I'm wondering who is scoring all of their goals. Carle and Statsny have 30+ assists a piece...
  13. Part of Marto's tenure in the USHL is a weight training program. Don't know how he is doing, but he's made quite a commitment to UND in terms of bulking up. I look forward to seeing him play next year.
  14. I have to pipe in here and say that some of my favorite goals have been scored by Stafford and Toews this year. Not to mention Oshie who just works his butt off for what he gets.
  15. This from a Steelers "fan" http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5310192
  16. I remember watching the super bowls growing up and how amazed I was that they let some stuff go in the past. This year, I think the officials clearly decided the game when they should have been a non-factor. The calls they made were very borderline. I don't care if they were technically correct or incorrect, they were so slight, that whatever influence the foul had on the play, the calls made a much bigger impact. It's like winning the lottery, but being disqualified because you folded your winning ticket. Honestly, I didn't have anything invested in the game either way, but I felt the officiating had a huge impact on the game. It shouldn't be that way.
  17. Ha! I get to be the first to thank PCM again for his fine job on this.
  18. There is something to what PCM is saying here. I did happen to watch the gopher game where Harrington got his DQ. Calling it "fighting" was a stretch, but there was no one else involved from the gophers. While they didn't review/rescind Harrington's penalty, I think in this case that they did right the situation where possible. To be honest, I don't think Harrington deserved the DQ either, but if Spirko had been DQ'ed, you just have to take your lumps and move on with it. BTW, everyone fully knows going into a game, that if fighting or an activity close to it goes on, they are going to be sitting a game. A guy I knew used to call Gary Valk (I think) a pu$$y for not getting involved in any "extra-curricular" activities, but IMHO, even way back then, that was the smart move. Of course, that's easier for me to say than do. When a game is on the line, a lot of emotions are involved. Either way, I always wish those boys the best, and hope that they can learn from their "mistakes."
  19. Why do you post trash like this?
  20. I'm expecting someone to say something about a "face made for radio". Not that I'm insulting you, PCM, but RW77's statement brought that to mind.
  21. That's the kind of mistake I was talking about...Watkin's clearing attempt, Mankato goal. What the heck is up with Rankin? What an arse all night.
  22. Denver 3-1 over Wisc in the 3rd.
  23. I have a lot of respect for Mankato. They seem like a dangerous team. Like the way the boys are playing this weekend. Seems like they are making some mistakes that a better team would make you pay for though.
