Why do you have to assume anything? Does it affect you or your life? His problem doesn't affect my life, and I haven't made any assumptions about it either way. I try not to make assumptions about things, especially when it doesn't affect me. Kristo suffered an injury during his personal life. Luckily, it doesn't look like it caused a permanent problem. Whether he was drunk or stupid, I hope that he either has learned a lesson from it, or that he eventually does learn a lesson from it. But I don't know why you have to assume anything.

My quality has varied depending on the game (and the source). It isn't going to look like HD, but I have had some games look pretty good. I agree with moser, I get better video when I use Chrome than other browsers.

This guy could fit in very well with the NDSU football team, http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/ohio-state-backup-qb-thinks-classes-pointless-because-170704817--ncaaf.html.

I have heard that some people solved the problem by just rebooting.

A few people have mentioned the fact that he never really apologized. Maybe he was too emotional to remember that part of the statement.

The basic reasons for the UND-NDSU rivalry still being on hold were mentioned. It may help you to know that Johnboy is a NDSU fan. NDSU decided that when they weren't going to play UND any more, they had to create a new rival. They chose a school they had been playing for decades, South Dakota State University, and created a new trophy. They tried to tell everyone that this was going to replace the rivalry with UND. It has become a nice, secondary type rivalry. But many fans from NDSU refuse to admit that their major rival is still UND even though the schools haven't played a football game for several years. And because of that, they are going to make light of any efforts from UND to build up additional rivalries. They don't seem to accept that you can have a main rival, and also have lesser rivals. UND and MSU have history, and it only makes sense to redevelop that rivalry now that the schools are in the same conference. North Dakota and Montana have a rivalry between the states. I like the idea of playing for something between the schools. Some schools have multiple games each year where they compete for some kind of trophy, like Minnesota has with Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa. UND and MSU have instate rivals that will always be bigger, but I think most UND fans would also welcome a fun rivalry with our friends to the west.

Yes, they will play for the Olympic team next year. They talked about it before the last Olympics. They used that year as their redshirt year, and they would have 3 years with UND before playing in the 2014 Olympics.

College kids do a lot of stupid things, whether they are sober or drunk. Witness the NDSU football players forging signatures. That's why I don't assume that Kristo was drinking that night.

Code of Conduct issues probably can't be released. Athletic department punishments can normally be release, depending on what the punishments involve. NDSU could have implemented some kind of athletic department punishment that they could announce, which would have quieted the critics. They still have not treated this as a serious issue in the eyes of many people, including quite a few NDSU supporters.

If you are half way between locations, in the middle of a golf course and it's very cold, what are you going to do? His choices would be go to one location or the other, or spend time trying to find the shoe, in the dark and buried in snow. He may have decided that it would be better to go to one of the locations rather than spend time trying to find a shoe in a snowbank in the dark. As cold as it was, he may have suffered frostbite from having cold wet feet whether he found the shoe or not. I wasn't there, and you weren't there, so it is very hard to know exactly what happened and why.

I have never seen or heard anything official, or even a substantial report, confirming that alcohol was involved. It has all been unsubstantiated rumors. But a lot of people have assumed that alcohol was involved.

There are apartments right along the south side of Ray Richards. I believe that he was living in one of those apartments and his girlfriend lived in one of the many apartments west of 42nd Street and north of University Avenue. That would probably be less than a mile walk straight across the golf course, but over a mile if he followed the streets.

I was wondering about the same thing. Maybe they have trouble with communications between law enforcement departments in Fargo. The story in the Forum mentioned that an arrest warrant had gone out for him because of the August incident, but they hadn't received it in time for his appearance in court today.

I agree. The snap was high and it obviously affected the timing of the kick. Pretty much everyone sitting around me at the game had the same opinion. The longer the kick, the less room for error.

Depressed about what? I'm certainly not depressed that all of those NDSU football players plead guilty to committing a class A misdemeanor. After all, forging signatures on petitions is actually a crime. And those NDSU football players must have been both lazy and stupid to commit such a foolish crime. Even the judge seemed to think so. And today 2 former NDSU football players also plead guilty. A third plead not guilty, only because he is trying to work out some other legal problems so he can limit the damage that the penalties from this crime will cause him. Such upstanding young men you have representing your university. By my count, that's 5 offenses for young Mr. Carter so far this year. How many chances do these people get before they actually have to do time?

Lashing out at anonymous people and trying to cause trouble, such sad behavior. Do you lash out at people you really know, or do they just avoid you?
-
You must have a sad and lonely life if the best you can do for entertainment is to troll on a rival's bulletin board.
-
If you want to learn about UND football you might want to look at the UND football forum rather than the Community forum.
-
Not read, like the UND nickname thread that had more than 7,300 posts. You don't even come close to making sense. What do you consider the main board at Bville, the Football Forum? After all, nothing else really matters to NDSU fans.
-
You don't have to give a reason as a basis for an opinion on these forums. No, I don't think he came off as petty. They got in trouble all on their own, he was expressing an opinion on what they should receive as a penalty.
-
How do you know that Goon doesn't have a horse in the race? One of the petitions was to set up an Outdoor Heritage Fund. Goon is pretty well know to be very fond of hunting. That Outdoor Heritage Fund was going to be set up to support wildlife in the state. Maybe he supported that measure. I have no idea if he supported either measure, but you are making a large assumption by saying that he has no horse in the race. Or, maybe he is just tired of people getting off with little or no penalty and believes that they should pay for their crime.

See, there is a difference between "real world" and "the law". The law is just part of the real world. In the real world, there are often civil court remedies besides the legal system. You can win or lose in the legal system, and still face issues in civil court. The 15 people that forged documents and committed election fraud stopped a process on which hundreds of thousands of dollars were already spent, and more hundreds of dollars were going to be spent. The process was stopped as a direct result of their actions. Their actions cost people money. In the real world, the people that lost money because of those actions may have recourse to try and recover money from the people responsible for the loss. And that doesn't take into consideration all of the people that legally signed petitions or in some other way supported the measures. This is all part of the "real world". That is what can sometimes happen if you do something stupid, and why it is important to teach college students not to do stupid things.

Bohl made a statement in a public forum. He should be responsible for living up to it or should be called on it. No, I didn't bother watching the debate last night. I do hope that both candidates are called on any statements they made that are not accurate. But because political candidates make questionable statements doesn't give others like football coaches free reign to do the same. But it is nice to have it confirmed that Bohl is not always telling the whole truth and has a specific agenda. I never said that Bohl should get rid of anyone. I said that he should have done more to teach lessons to young people on their way to becoming adults, rather than set the example that winning is the only thing. He has not done his complete job, he has concentrated too much on the on-field competition side and not enough on the student development side. These are college students, and someone will make a mistake. But they don't learn not to make those mistakes if they are taught that winning football games overcomes all mistakes. Sorry if you can't comprehend that part. And I'm sorry if my standards are higher than yours, you just keep going with the old Al Davis theory of life, "Just win, baby". I don't know why I would be out picketing. I have made my point. I have a feeling that both the coach and the AD probably wonder if they could have done something differently also. I also have a feeling that part of the reaction to the party incident was a result of that. They took several steps after the party incident that they normally would not take, therefore, those were probably a reaction to the players not learning from before the party. So the coach and the AD have already made a correction and don't need me picketing.

I thought you said that the crime must not be serious because they didn't get much of a penalty from the courts. Being sued for doing something illegal is another potential result of their actions. They cost people and companies hundreds of thousands of dollars. Their actions were at least partially responsible for those losses. When you do that in the real world it can often come back to cost you money. I don't know if they would be found liable or not, but that is another potential outcome from this episode. But since they are NDSU football players, you don't believe that the real world should apply to them.

It just depends on the person. Some recover more quickly and get past the injury, some will have it stuck in their head longer. No way to predict it, although practice is usually a pretty good indicator.
