WOW! BITE ME IN THE A$$! I've felt this way for awhile, just wondering if anyone has any info. SICATOKA=Kupchella?? Does anyone know the relationship between the REA and the Ath. dept.? What funds are supposed to go where?

The UND athletic dept. lost over $400,000 for the 2003-2004 academic fiscal year. I don't have the numbers for attendance although, I'm sure it could be looked up, but I'm quite certain these past few years have been much larger attendance-wise then in the past! Looking at the REA thing, look how much money is brought in with suite revenue, merchandise, etc. Sorry, hope that helps. I am well aware of the fact that UND is looking for an AD right now and my guess is this is the reason why a Purpur or other big-time candidates did not apply. We have the finest facilities in DII bar-none, some of the best teams, great alumni support, yet the position just doesn't seem to be highly sought after.

So what's the deal with the athletic department? Why is so much money being lost when we are getting the biggest crowds in UND history? IMO the REA has way to much say in everything that goes on. I know it is hard to hear this and say this but it has been bad for every sport but hockey. The AD job at UND is not an enviable position as you have little-to-no say in what goes on, as you are bound by the REA. There needs to be a major overhaul at that place within personell and figure out what the hell is going on. Why are we losing money? What needs to change? UND is a first-class institution with great athletics. We are the envy of most DII schools and no doubt some DIs. Some things, though, need to be changed so that the ath. dept. isn't losing money like this each year! I'm no expert, but when you are losing that kind of money I know something is wrong!

Just wondering what his contract is though, nothing to do with if he earned it. Comparing to other coaches.

What is Hakstol's salary? What was Blais'?

The coolest part of that story is the game at Lambeau next year! That would be great!

Where does he say that? I don't see anywhere in the post that Corella claims he will put up the same type numbers or anything related? I do know this, however, the defense in the NCC is much better then the defense in the conference the Bison are in

What about something with the SS? The name "Sioux" can be used without infringing right?

I've been to TRF many times in the past 4-5 years. There is not much as far as shopping/entertainment, although there is a relatively new waterpark/casino/resort just SE of town. I think most of the shoppers make the trek to GF to hit the mall. It has a very small town feeling to me. I officiate basketball up there and the schools seem to be pretty nice. I know a former teacher from there who liked it but was ready to move on. I've also been to Bemidji many times in the past few years enjoying the lakes. I like this area much more then the TRF area because I'm a lakes person and a golfer, that being said I would probably choose Brainerd as the best of the three. My brother lived there (Brainerd) for three years so I was there a few times. Great area with all the golf and lakes and outdoor stuff, plus you are closer to the cities, St. Cloud. Bemidji is great though, but I am not real sure about the schools there. I know some people that went to high school there and they seemed to turn out all right I hoped this helped and if you have any more questions I can help you with feel free to PM me and I can try to help you.

Not to be negative, I think he has done a great job, but the tv timeout thing...I don't think that is that great of a coaching move. Every coach should know when the tv timeouts are coming.
