  1. More complaining on something that looks like a pretty harmless situation: quick read
  2. Where did you get that from, it's great!
  3. Sorry Star2 had to try it
  4. Patrick Ewing Jr. was at the Betty today with Randall Herbst. I saw them showing him the campus too, must be looking to move down a division!
  5. Sorry this was from earlier in the thread where you were talking about the "Sioux" name and your affiliation with the name. I will post it over the top.
  6. I'm glad you agree that I should not make the drive I don't want to come across as repetitive but, when you say you are discriminated against on campus is it by students or the school? If the case is students I think you will get that no matter the nickname and no matter the environment, kids are kids. But if it is the school, that is a totally different manner. You say that you are a part of these different organizations on campus, they obviously aren't discriminating against you. I just challenge you to prove one instance in which the university has discriminated against you because you are native. I do not want to be hostile, I would like to help you realize that many people feel as though they are treated unfairly by their school, if indeed that is the case.
  7. Looking at past posts you have been calling yourself "Sioux" and the "Sioux Nation"... Is that because the world wants you to?
  8. I have never considered myself a Fighting Sioux. Never called myself that either. I say that I went to the University of North Dakota, like most people I know say. If someone asks I tell them that our team name is the Sioux. When I went to UND people called me names once in a while too, not as bad as you claim it to be, but none the less people are people and many will act in uncivalized ways no matter who they are dealing with or what the environment around them is like. When you say that you cannot participate in all the things going on at UND what events do you speak of? Is it prejudice against me that I cannot join Delta Gamma? EDIT: I'm not going to drive 11 hours to sit and argue with you, when I can do it here on the message board.
  9. Acceptable, yes, but not very informative. Did you see their special sections on each state? The "scientifically accepted" practice also showed Kerry won! Good thing we don't live by these!
  10. I've thought for years that they should use the same brick skeem that they have for the arena and just put about a four foot high brick wall around the field, put some bleachers on the inside and it will feel more like a field and will actually be able to retain the balls from leaving the area. Not sure what this would cost but it surely wouldn't be anything the athletic department couldn't handle, or a small private donor.
  11. I guess you couldn't reply to the other threads where people were actually making good arguments huh? Get a life.
  12. Just to point out I'm not sure how good those SI polls are. They never seem to poll very many people, but then come out twist it so it seems like a very convincing argument. That being said, I agree with you so don't hate me
  13. so back to the signs that people will actually be making, any more good ideas? I think that someone has to make some about the Boston schools though no doubt! The Minnesota ones are just to easy, let's get creative here people!
  14. Yeah, I just emailed them and asked them to update the pics and possibly get one from a bit further away so we can see it from a different perspective rather then just very close. Thanks though.

    Big Dogz

I love listening to the Big Dogz but also love The Common Man on KFAN. They are both very good to listen to! The Drew Carey story is one of my favorites and one I tell almost everyone I meet that doesn't know much about ND. I tell them that one time Drew Carey drove through and the radio guys had everyone driving out on the highway to try and find him. Makes us look worse then usual, but don't really care! I'm also a big Kauker fan and love when they have him on as "The Sport's Genius"
  16. So now we need to also have natives at the positions within the institution, I am still waiting for you to give me a case when you have been treated unfairly and it is solely because you are native american. I doubt you can. If you can give me instances it would greatly change my (and many others I'm sure) views on the situation but I just don't see it happening. Almost everyone has it tough once in a while, but the strong step up and make the best of their abilities and opportunities in front of them. When the opportunities they have don't seem to be sufficient for the skills these people possess, the best make new opportunities while the weak complain about the ones they have.
  17. If anyone else is going to post this same thing that has been said 30 times please just put DITTO We all feel the same way. how about this one: "Guns don't crash into nets after games, Hirsch does"
  18. Why is it that the entire Lakota tribe is not out protesting the use of the name? I would think that if it was that bad they all would get out and let their voices be heard rather then just a small few doing so. As for your name, I could care less if you use the handle "kracker" I have never really gotten into the whole racial thing, I guess if the use of the name is something you want to fight about then all the power to you. I graduated from UND and have never said I was a "Sioux" I have said that I went to UND, or that I'm from North Dakota but why would I tell anyone I am a Sioux, they would look at me like I was an idiot (I'm pale as a ghost)! As for you being treated unequally at UND I can't say wether you are or not, but I know that I had many hard times there where I didn't feel I was treated fairly either but never complained that they were racist against Norwegian, german, Dutch, french people. Maybe you have had experiences way different then mine where you can prove that it was just because you are a Native American that you were treated that way and if that is the truth then I feel very sorry for you as that is not fair at all. I just wonder what these experiences were and if they were different then that of most other students at any university. I would hope not.
  19. I would think that his statement that the "most important thing right now is the Frozen Four" pretty much clears up that the kid is just immature. He did something really stupid and immature after a game and it has nothing to do with a mental illness, afterall, if he did have a mental illness wouldn't that be "the most important thing right now"?
  20. Here is an article from the FF today about Robbie: http://www.in-forum.com/articles/index.cfm...&section=Sports
