What are the supposed advantages of major juniors and the other Canadian leagues over going the college route?

I'm looking for 26" goalie leg pads - ideally used and in very good condition. Not much selection here in Bemidji. Looking for something similar to RBK 7K, Vaughn's or Bauers. Also looking for a youth chest protector. PM me if you have any coming up for sale or if you've seen any around. Thanks.

xl hammer is right. The important factor is refresh rate. For watching puck, you'll want at least a 120 refresh rate. Generally, the higher the contrast rate, the better the picture quality. If your room has windows, you'll want an LCD (glare on plasma). For brands, be sure to compare apples-to-apples/model # to model # when price shopping. I personally prefer Samsung, LG, Sharp and Mitsubishi. Do not buy a $100 HDMI cord - they all relay a digital signal. Go to Menards, or wherever, or on the web and pick one up for $30.

I've plugged my laptop with the Sioux audio into the stereo. It was about a minute behind the TV broadcast. We have a DVR, so I paused it for about a minute or so, tweaked a little and it was spot on. Ah . . . the joys of being a Sioux fan.

I don't mind Wooger, but I don't know if I've ever heard Frank really ever complement an opposing team - especially the Sioux. I think you could have a drinking game every time those two take a dig at the Sioux!

Is reffing for the WCHA (or college hockey in general) supposed to be: 1) a gateway to reffing for the NHL 2) a very good achievement/accomplishment - respected way to highlight/end your career as a ref 3) seen as a purgatory - not a full-time career goal/not the final place to end a reffing career

I just looked through my channel guide. My FCS Atlantic shows the OSU/UND game. FCS Central and FSN North has UM/UMtc and NHL has SCSU/DU.

I was there for both (gotta love DVR's). There were a few soft calls, some non-called interference and they really wanted to see BSU in the box Saturday. They had BSU in the box for most of the 1st and 3rd periods. 8 minutes for UAH vs 29 for BSU. Maybe the UAH coach has been at Gwoz'es seminars? Being a Sioux fan and seeing our beloved WHCA refs, I thought Albers fit right in and really wasn't that surprised. It will prep BSU for this weekend.

According to tvguide.com - For Friday, NHL Network: Ferris/Miami, FCS Atlantic: UND/SCSU, FCS Central: AA/WI and FCS Pacific: MI St/MI. Last time I looked at the NHL Network, they were highlighting the UND/SCSU game - now they are highlighting Ferrris/Miami - something may have changed? For Saturday, FSN North: BSU/MN, FCS Atlantic: UND/SCSU, FCS Pacific: BSU/MN For Sunday: FSN North: BSU/MN Not a bad weekend on the tube, eh?

They would have to drop scholarships (from 18 to 11), but at least they'd have a conference.
