I don't like it. IMHO, even the worst logo from SS.com members was better than this one. There were some really good ones posted, too bad one of them didn't make the cut. Oh well, this is only my opinion. Many others undoubtedly will disagree. edit: It's only the logo I don't like. The new format is awesome.

That is so true. I think, but I may be wrong , that the NA's that meet with the NC$$ are NOT tribal members of any Sioux tribe and perhaps not with any of the tribes involved in this current NC$$ fiasco. Or is they are, they are not 'leaders'. Does anyone know if this is the case?

The Sioux Nation most certainly has more important issues to deal with Rising number of teenage suicides and suicide attempts, Poor high school graduation and post high school education rates, High unemployment rates, Elder abuse, Poor health care, Alcohol and drug abuse, etc., Strong supporter that I am of the Sioux name and loge, I don't believe that it should be a priority for the Sioux. If Pearson is truly putting her time into the above and other issues important to ALL the Sioux people, I can't find fault with her not wanting to bother with our Sioux name and logo.... as long as she doesn't find the time to oppose it, of course.

I had dinner with Siouxman, Mrs. Siouxman and keikla in Flagstaff this past Friday. keikla is starting Phamacy school in Phoenix and another Siouxman child, Southpaw, has moved to Colorado Springs. I just pulled out the calculator. If a person is paid every two weeks, the cost to them for a $500/yr contribution would be $20. per paycheck. If an account were set up for the scholarship, a person could set up an automatic withdrawal from their account to the scholarship account and not feel the 'lose' writing a $500. check may produce. Yeah, I agree with you in part, airmail. I was just putting forth an idea based on what I'm seeing on the Navajo rez. There are, I believe, three or four colleges/universities that offer free tuition to Navajos. The problem is housing, transportation, food, etc. that the kids' families can't afford. There is a very talented young artist here who just graduated from high school whose drawings blow me away!! She was all set to move to Phoenix and go to school but the housing, etc. costs were much more than her family can afford (even after her loans). She's going to work 'just for a year' and then go to school. I have to wonder if she's going to get off the rez. I know I had that same problem as 99% of college students also have today and those of us that 'really want it' can make it. It's just that I see first hand how hard it is for these Navajo children to leave. Their way of living is so much more traditional than I ever imagined!! If the transition could be made easier perhaps their futures would be brighter. If I didn't travel for work, living in one area for a few months then moving to another, I would offer her room and board in my home but I travel for work...... I guess this is just a 'put your money where your mouth is' suggestion in response to our stated beliefs in the name and logo threads. I'll go along with the majority.

Great idea, Doc! I'm down for anyone of your suggestions, pending Jim's approval. One suggestion (only a suggestion), given our strong feelings regarding our Sioux name and logo, etc. how about we further specify our scholarship go to a Native American athlete, a Sioux first, if a Sioux does not qualify then any other NA secondand if a NA athlete does not qualitly then to any other minority athlete who qualifies. We'll have to specify how one qualifies. Just my $0.02 worth.

I'm a five hour drive from Cedar City (that is where we play Utah right?) and planon going to that game. Any one else going to that game? Or others?

Those three obnoxious, loud, rude, misbehaving children were sitting in a booth right next to HockeyMom, Siouxmama and me with their poor grandmother and their mother. Candy and free puppy signs would have made things, impossible to imagine, infinitely worse.

65 mph speed limit, two lane deserted highway, pitch black night, Northern Arizona, 10:30 pm and the truck in front of me is going slightly less than 60 mph. I pass the car. AZ highway patrolman pulls me over and tickets me for going 75 mph while passing the car even though I slowed down to the speed limit after I passed the car. He also was going to give me a ticket for passing in a no passing lane which was impossible to see before I passed the car and I was only in it a foot or two before pulling into the right lane. $95.00!!!!!!!!!!!!! He then follows me 32 miles to my destination. Biggest surprise of all? He shows up in my ER a week later with a prisoner and starts flirting with me!! As if......

Those of you that go, PLEASE, take lots of pictures and post them here so I can steal, copy, hum, er, see them! Thanks in advance!!! If I could have scheduled my short trip home for that week end, I would have. My bff's live on the bank of the Rainy River and staying with them and playing golf with the 'celebs' would have been fastastic!!

I stopped at the ticket office at the Ralph to check on tickets this afternoon. They were all stacked on the floor behind the ticket agent. She said they play to mail them out next week Thursday! The football and hockey tickets will be mailed out together as per usual.
