which two other sports should they have won (and dont say hockey)?

big game, all you think is taht red river kids are spoiled and rich, and that is simply not true. sure, some kids have money, but the way you make it sound is that all kids are loaded and that they dont care about winning or losing. why cant you get by the fact that red rivers kids favorite sport isnt football? have you ever thought that kids at red river maybe dont like football and instead choose to invest their time in another sport such as tennis or hockey? is there a crime in not wanting play football? who cares if they go home to a family that has some money, becasue last time i checked that isnt a crime. these kids do play sports other than football and there is nothing wrong wiht that. it is trashy that you think the football team sucks because kids who have money dont want to play. you are being ignorant to the fact taht they do not play football. maybe they are in cross country or tennis. i cant belive that you put so much of the emphasis on the football team not winning on money. it is stupid and you should stop making such a big deal about it. get a life.

i know for a fact that many of mankato's players do not come from rich families, so this means that they all work hard and love to hit. you just have to feel bad for a school like augustana, tho, who has kids who are from wealthy backgrounds. this of course means that they dont like doing hard work and hitting because they were raised in a rich environment

Game, it seems to me like you are just trying to stereotype the entire school. with kids i know from red river, if they dont play sports, they all have jobs. so yes they are going home to money, money that the kids have earned by working. it is also unfair to say that the kids are lazy because of their lifestyles, when red river won 3 state championships last year (hockey, girls tennis, boys tennis). sure the football team isnt very good, but the fact is that many hockey players are 1 or 2 sport athletes (the other sport baseball in the many cases), and having hockey as the main sport has worked, as noticed by their state championship this past year and overall successful programs over the years.

graham, how has the nickname affected YOU personally (and not because you are of Sioux decent, we've established that)? Do you feel disrespected whenever you pull on a UND t-shirt with a Sioux logo on it? Do you not appreciate the fact that thousands of UND supporters love and embrace the Sioux nickname? Do you face racial barbs at sporting events? Would your life have been any different if UND's nickname weren't the Sioux? What disrespect do you see in the Sioux nickname?

yes, i could get up and drive 200mph for 4 hours. i bet you could too. the only real factor would be boredom setting in. you cant tell me that a talent is being able to drive a car really fast. WHOOOOOEE! or maybe their talent is that they cant get bored. but, i suppose i dont really like racing because i dont fit in with the racing "crowd." i shower, dont have a mullet, dont have a confederate flag in my front yard, and am not drinking around the clock.

if the senator wants to change it because of an unfair advantage, then why not go back and change all the pitching records from the early 1900s when the mound was higher and when the fences were farther back. and while we're on that, why not get rid of all the .400plus batting averages because of the lack of african american ballplayers. the records shouldnt be changed becuase steroids were legal in baseball at the time that this happened. it shouldnt even be considered cheating because anyone could use steroids - even pitchers. guys like macgwire, bonds, sosa are naturally gifted athletes. sure steroids helps them hit the ball farther, but does that mean if i take steroids i could hit 500 foot moonshots? no. look at bonds's homerun numbers before, say 1998. from 1997 going down - 40 42 33 37 46. this was when the guy was still skinny. hes definately one of the best hitters ever and it is just a shame that his numbers will be tainted.

Non-sport? who are you kidding? other than in the north, people around the country could care less about hockey in general. why do you think taht a fricken dog show beat the stanley cup in the ratings last year (no joke)?

Not taking anything away from fargo souths championships, but moorhead has consistently better teams and look what they have to do to win their state championship. in north dakota the first game is always a pushover and sometimes so is the second. in minnesota the teams all have won their conference which means that moorhead doesnt play any bottom of the barrel teams.

when the west can compete with the east in hockey, then people can start talking about bringing the tourney west. how many people in bismarck are going to want to go watch 2 east teams play for the championship every year? the west has two strikes against them 1. They need a legitimate, primarily hockey facility 2. people in the west care more about basketball than hockey (it is the opposite in the east)

DaveK, people like you are the reason no Fargo teams ever win state. Your kids will grow up with you catering to their every need, you and all the parents telling them how great they are and how awesome theyll be because they rolled off 35 wins when they are 11. High School hockey is much different. When the best player in the state, Jake Marto, was young he could score 3 goals in any game if he wouldve wanted, and look how the Riders shut him down last nite. If you wouldve noticed during the state tourney, not all the players are the same age. So the "Years of Dominance" that you are talking about will probably be just one year of a decent team that will probably lose to a Grand Forks team in the state tourney.
