  1. Ha ha, hey it cant turn out any worse than your BCS game prediction.
  2. I see what you're saying. The point I am trying to make is this. Say you and I are hockey players and are on the same level. Say all you do is play hockey, whereas I run track in the spring and play baseball in the summer. Although I would have an advantage over you in some aspects (conditioning and strength of different muscles), when it came time to start playing hockey again you would be a better hockey player than me. Thats why I think its a little unfair to use the Elite League comparison when talking about these two players.
  3. Ooooh, so then if Jarome Iginla played, say, baseball during the summer for the Toronto Blue Jays he would the become a better hockey player come October? I have a really tough time seeing how not playing a sport and playing a different sport would then make you a better player at said sport. ND Pride I usually see your side of the arguement but this is something where you are wrong. If your side of this is true then why dont all players do track in the spring, baseball in the summer, and football in the winter? How good would the state be in hockey then? I suppose if everyone on Fargo North were 4 sport athletes, they would in turn be the best team in the state.
  4. My mistake on Wurden and other's point totals, I was looking on the state leaders section and I obviously didn't realize that South had played more than 5 games. My bad. Meland is also currently at 27 points, as he netted 3 assists last nite. As for the whole Elite League thing, does Tyler Klein play any other sports in the summer? It is not surprising that Klein outscored him, Meland spent the entire summer playing legion baseball. Had he been playing hockey the whole time I'm sure his point totals would've been higher.
  5. Cmon now, how can you say that? The kid is averaging 3 points a game, leading the state in both goals and assists. He's the best player on the best line in the state, and you're putting Klein, Wurden and Miller ahead of him? You could put 2 JV players next to Meland and they would have 20-30 points. Wurden and Miller COMBINED don't have as many points as Meland does.
  6. Not saying South doesn't have talent, but Red River has 3 of the top 5 players in the state (Galbreath, LaDouceur, Meland). I wouldn't be surprised to see Red River and South split this year, but a South sweep is very unlikely in my mind.
  7. Red River plays Central tonight...I see the Riders winning 5-0.
  8. That is wrong. If you watch ESPN or its parent company ABC, you would know that the majority of games they show are Big 10, not SEC, as CBS holds the rights to most major SEC games. Also, in regards to your bet, I did not state that Florida is better than Ohio St. I fully expect Ohio St. to beat Florida. How about this bet...whichever of the two conferences finishes with a better bowl record...or more teams in bowls...how about that bet? Also, BigGame, how is it funny that I'm using Corso as part of my arguement. I guess you missed the fact that not only was he a former D1 football coach, but has been on Game Day for close to 20 years. Yeah, I guess you're right saying his arguement is flawed. Oooh, heres a fun link...http://teamrankings.com/ncf/7confratings.php3
  9. Ohhh, well in that case just hand him the job...in fact if Saban wouldn't have taken the Alabama job I bet Bohl was next on the list. Great guy, wants to win, down to earth...all the makings of a great college football coach.
  10. Well I can't argue with an idiot. Nevermind the fact that Corso, Herbstreit, etc. have been saying that the SEC is the best conference all year long, no, you're right, the people who get paid to talk about college football are wrong.
  11. What does that mean, not the person to tell them. If losing to Jamestown at home offered any more hints to why they aren't a contender, I just made the point clear. And why can't I point out something everyone knows already? Didn't know you were the police.
  12. No. In the east as well as the state, theres South, theres Red River, and theres everyone else. Dont disgrace South and RR by grouping DL with them.
  13. First of all, you dont lost to someones JV team. How bad of a team do you have to be to lose to a JV team, especially in the West? Anyway, why was Bottineau playing a JV team in the first place? I dont really get that.
  14. Too bad you cant fight in high school hockey, or this pussy would get his. I'd look at this differently (maybe) if he had more than 2 goals. And didn't play on a West team. If he did this in the East, I'm pretty sure he'd get run the rest of the game.
  15. Oh, and USC is absolutely carving up the Michigan defense right now.
  16. Well you called Whistler an asshole, but thats beside the point. Just because you are a "Board Certified, licensed, health-care provider" doesn't mean you know whats going on with this situation. Neither do I, but I know enough to realize that they wouldn't kick a player off a team because he's having mental troubles. You obviously never played organized sports, if you did then you would know this. Besides that, couldn't the Gophs have a major lawsuit on their hands if this was the reason they kicked him off the team?
  17. Ha ha ha, that post is so so wrong in so many ways. First of all, yes, the top *2* of the Big 10 is the best of any in the country. Wisconsin won today despite being grossly outplayed by an overachieving Arkansas team. Wisconsin is so overrated it makes me sick. The only good (ranked) team they played, with the exception of Arkansas, was Michigan, and the Wolverines had no problem with the Badgers. Wisconsin played such a weak schedule this year its terrible. Now, asking to find who played a tougher schedule in the SEC than Penn St. is absolutely moronic. Heres Florida's schedule: Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, and soon to be Ohio St. Michigan will have played 4 quality teams by the end of the season, Ohio St. only 3. I'd love to see Michigan or Ohio St. play a SEC schedule AND the SEC Title game and get out undefeated. Absolutely would not happen. 8 of 12 SEC teams had winning records. 5 of 11 Big 10 teams had winning records. Top to bottom, the SEC is the toughest conference in America. Dave, would you feel this way if you lived in Kansas or New York? I highly doubt it. Oh and USC just scored to make it 25-11.
  18. Ha ha, I'm not even going to try and argue this one. You guys think the Big 10 is better just because that is the conference closest to us.
  19. Overhyped? Please. You cannot honestly say that there is a better conference in America. If you think there is I'd love to hear your reasoning. If you say the Big 10 is better, I really think I'll puke into my mouth. Same with the ACC, Big 12, Pac 10 and the Big East.
  20. This was the point I am trying to make, and I'll leave it at this: In sports, teams dont kick players to the curb because they have mental problems. Teams (college or pro) will do all they can to help the player through the time, as witnessed with the Hirsch situation a while ago. They did not kick him off the team, they tried to make sure he regained his health and then welcomed him back to the team with open arms. Why, if it was the same thing this time, would they just kick him off the team? The two may be somehow related, but I highly doubt that the reason he was kicked off was due to his mental state.
  21. Would that person be effectively fired, Sioux-cia, because of said illness? Absolutely not. And Lucia would absolutely not kick Hirsch off the team if this was due to his mental health. That's the point I was trying to make. You dont get fired because you have a (mental) illness. What would happen if someone went into their job and got fired because they had, say, schizophrenia. The company would probably do everything they could to help this employee recover, and eventually let them return to their job. You get fired when you become a detrement to the team/company. And this is clearly what happened with Hirsch.
  22. Whenever I hear of someone being kicked off a team, I lose most of the respect I may have had for that person. My view on it is that 20 other guys can follow the rules, why can't you? I felt sorry for Hirsch after the incident a few years ago, but I lost all respect for him after hearing this. I dont really think that you would kick a kid off the team because he has a mental disorder. The kid would probably be held out of a few games until they can figure the problem out, or in Hirsch's case, sit out a season. But you dont kick a kid off a team for something that isn't his fault. Clearly he was a cancer in the locker room and the coaches couldn't handle him anymore. No sympathy, no respect.
  23. You say they're a pretty good team, yet they only have a decent chance of going to state? Grafton is a pretty good team. North (can be) a pretty good team. Bottineau is not a pretty good team. They're bad.
  24. The final score of this game really does not do justice to the difference in skill level of these two teams. The first two periods the puck rarely left the FN zone, it was complete domination. Red River struggled to bury their oppurtunities creating a close game until the very end. It seemed that Red River was killing penalties the whole third period which created a little bit of momentum for North. Eric Meland had another great game notching the hat trick. I think this game proved how big of a drop off there is from RR and FS to the rest of the EDC.
