DaveK, Wilbur, i think everyone saw tontie what ive been saying all along- rr is the best team in the state. and once again eric olsen proved himself as the best goalie in the state.

to everyone who has been saying that the two best teams arent playing in the championship tonite, well theyre just wrong. the best teams are the teams that show up to play in big games, and grafton (choked away a 2 goal lead), minot (got crushed by central) and south (game was over after 2 periods) didnt show up to play at all. everyone who thinks that stahl and mclean are the best goalies in the state better think again, because theyre clearly not (eric olsen earns that honor). the two best teams ARE red river and central.

as ive said once and again, wahtever happenes during the regualr season doesnt really matter. both teams were 0-5 vs. south, central got somked twice by grafton, and it was all thrown out the window tontie. red river dominated south, and central got themselves by grafton. look for a great game tomorrow nite, with the riders pulling it out.

eric olsen just proved himself as the best goalie in the state tonite. he outplayed mclean so bad tonite it was sick. tomrrow nite will showcase the 2 best teams in the state, no doubt. when it comes to tournament hockey, grand forks teams know how to win.

well wilbs, who do u think will win the games today? i could see century gettin past high but minot will prolly win.

moss is a good player, but not a great player. look at the great players in sports- jordan, gretzky, magic - guys who alone are good players but are great because they make their teammates better. never once has moss made any of his teammates better.

well wilbs i think that you are mabye gettin a little too touchy on this hockey subject. it seems to me that youre in denial taht your minot boys just cant put a game together when the time comes. sorry i have to go, but i need to recount how many times grand forks teams have won state.

yeah i played when i was younger and i tell you what, i was twice the goalie stahl is.

sure id love to play for minot next year. maybe if stahl could step up in a game that matters i wouldnt have to.

i dont know about that. if he wouldve played the way his stats indicate hes played all year he wouldve let in 2 goals. although minot sucks, i think some of the blame does have to be put on stahl.

to everyone who said that mclean and stahl are the best goalies in the state, congratulations for being complete morons. those kids really showed up to play today, and together posted a stellar save % of just over 67%. stahl was a complete veg in net today. i couldve put a 12 yr old girl in there and it wuoldve been a closer game. and for mclean, well 8 saves on 13 shots to a team that had a grand total of 0-count 'em ZERO players on the WDA all tourney team really speaks for itself. mr mclean u should buy your defensemen some steak dinners tontie because without them i wonder how many goals century wouldve scored. 15? 20? both mclean and stahl should buy a new pair of breezers for tomorrows games, seeing as how both of theres are covered in piss.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. thats really funny. for a minute there i actually thought u meant that there are real ice rinks in the western part of the state, because from what i saw today there obviously arent.

next year the state tourney should be cancelled and the edc should be played double elimination. im not even joking. when the undefeated #1 seed comes in and gets it absolutely handed to them you know theres a problem. the closest game of the nite was the rr game where, if the riders wouldve converted on a few scoring chances, it wouldve been a blowout. none of those west teams deserve to be in the state tournament. none.

can a team pack it in any faster tahn minot did today? probably not. even with a 2 goal lead that they werent able to hold in the first period, the looked just terrible. how can a team come in as the #1 seed and be as crappy as they were? PS-I wonder how many minot kids had to change breezers between the 2nd and 3rd periods?

that performance by stahl was absolutely terrible. everything central shot went in. which shows what ive said once again-eli rosendahl would start for every team in the state besides rr and south.

not saying these teams from the west are bad, actually minot and bis high are a couple of the best teams to come out of the west in a few years, and not taking anything away from the wins, but the games they did win were either all at home (all of minots east games were at home and bismarck played south on the road, but in the first game of the year) or too early in the year to mean anything. im just not sure that the east players had as much to play for as the west players because of the east's perennial domination over the west. saying taht i look for the west to go 1-3 in the first round, with minot squeaking it out over central.

doesnt matter if he was good a while ago the real question is what have you done for me lately and lately hes played pretty well, but it wont be enuf to stop the freight train that is the red river roughriders.
