All the entities rely on increasing property values for their increases. No need to increase the mill rate for more money. Would the world come to an end if the county would reduce their budget 2% for 5 years?

The dome has never had a lodging tax for it, if this passes it will have one for payment of the bonds not for the operating losses like the Alerus has. You are really struggling to be negative and why would you care anyway. We'll see what the Alerus needs after 30 years and what the city will do after 29 to support and do upgrades for it. Really - the dome has always been profitable except the Covid years. The Alerus has never been if you take the subsidy hotel and restaurant away. Did you even read the article? They're putting 30M of the dome money into it. By the way Fargo's tax will be 7.75 if it passes. Just wait for the sales tax for the Alerus goes away in 29, who's going to pay for the improvements? That tax will never go away.

IMO NIL is a terrible thing for college athletes and yes if a recruit decides on a school because of NIL then that school is buying their players. How do the people running the NIL know which players the coaches want or is after they offer them?

Love how you guys think that it's money that's keeping your sports teams from succeeding. Your hockey team is at the top in support (money) and FB is up there too. Success starts at the top with the president and then the AD. Getting coaches that are good and pay them. You have one sport that's so top heavy in salaries that it stifles all other sports. Point being is you have the money it's just not distributed like it should be. You have some coaches that would coach for free but are they the best coaches. Hell you have a radio guy coaching FB because no one would apply. Hockey is a great sport but it doesn't have to be the end all be all. Look at Duluth and St. Cloud, they pay a fraction of what you pay for hockey and have success. There's a reason your AD was run out of EWU.
