  1. I'm sorry for playing. I'll resume ignoring you now.
  2. Yes Rock...Fords do, in fact, rule. Now it goes against all my better judgment to communicate with you directly because I know you're just playing a character, but I'll play along this afternoon. If you're really headed down to the Cities -- I assume to watch the Sioux game -- why don't you tell us where you're seats are so we can all stop by and say hi.
  3. Make sure to put your crash helmet on...the roads could be slippery.
  4. LOL! As good as Stiffler's mom?
  5. Answer 7:30. I agree with you. I wouldn't mind a 7:00 for Saturday's game, but hope for a 7:30 start on Friday. I voted 7:30 just so they hopefully get the message to re-evaluate the starting times.
  6. I wouldn't mind paying for a webcast (video) IF it's reliable, has good quality, and a relatively big picture. I wouldn't pay 2 cents for what WDAZ has offered in the past.
  7. Vote 7:30 start time....it helps those of us who live out of town.
  8. Interesting comment by Jeff Sauer on the INCH website: "To be honest, watching the CCHA championship game here in Bristol last night, I wasn't all that impressed with Ferris State." Also, it really annoys me that the UND-Ferris game is the ONLY game that can not be picked up on DirecTV. TV schedule according to INCH
  9. I agree YaneA, I find it hard to believe UND officials would leave it up to the fans to call Midco and beg and plead to get the game on the air. If UND can negotiate the Fighting Sioux Sports Network contract with half the regular season games televised, you would think they would be able to twist a few arms over at Midco to get the tournament game aired. I have a feeling that this will get worked out and people in the FSSN area will get the game and those of us outside the FSSN region will have to watch via satellite. But I still think it's too bad that FSN didn't step up to air the game. The NCAA should market this tournament as a package, not as individual games.
  10. It's really hard to believe how the NCAA is selling television rights this year. I remember watching most/all of the regional games on FSN/MSC for the past few years. This disorganized/decentralized approach seems to be a major step backward for college hockey.
  11. Greyeagle, you're an aberration...so my statement still stands. I'll be there Friday...and if I hear Gopher fans cheering for the Sioux, I'll next look for the opening of the seven seals. Seriously, maybe the majority of fans there will simply be looking for a close and exciting game. I'm not quite sure what to expect. All I know is that the Sioux have to win because I don't want to be in a bad mood for the night game where I'll be forced to hear the rouser about 15 times.
  12. From what I understand, the regional sold out before the selection process, so it will be tough for Sioux fans to get a ticket. We may have a few more fans there than Ferris State but, unfortunately, there will be many more people cheering for Ferris than UND. Very few Gopher fans will cheer for UND under any circumstances. But in fairness, I suppose the Gophers wouldn't be fan favorites if the regional were at the Ralph.
  13. I don't base my underachieving opinion on pre-season predictions. I base my opinion on the talent levels I've seen from the teams this year. Arguing the Sioux overachieved this year would be conceding that Mankato, Duluth, Denver, and St. Cloud have more talent than the Sioux. I firmly believe those teams do not have more talent than the Sioux. That's my basis for the underachieving comment. Actually, underachieving is not exactly the word I'm looking for. The team played hard every game I watched this year and often outplayed their opponent. But for one reason or another, they just couldn't get the job done. I'm used to Sioux teams that maybe didn't have the most talent, but found ways to win nonetheless. And I agree...the season is not over. Come Sunday, I hope to have a reason to get pumped up again and put the end-of-the-season analysis on hold.
  14. I'm tempted not to post a negative comment in an inherently positive thread. But 14 hours after a loss is not nearly enough time for me to cool off and sit this out. So...at risk of being a wet blanket, here goes nothing: I love the enthusiasm, but I just can't join you right now. The final standings were not horrible for the Sioux, but faltering down the stretch leaves a real bad taste in my mouth. I honestly feel this Sioux team is the 3rd most talented team in the league and that they slightly underachieved this year. I'm not used to Sioux teams underachieving. I'm hoping for the best next year, but keep in mind that there are a lot of young teams in the WCHA...so things will not automatically go better in years to come. But...as always...once the sting of a loss starts to wear off...my optimism will come around and I'll be completely jacked for the beginning of next season. ...and of course we need to remember that the season is not quite over yet.
  15. Don't kid yourself...there were plenty of Duluth blowhards at the pre-game and game last night.
  16. McGoverns - 225 W 7th St. It's on the same street as Tom Reid's and all the other bars. It's on the opposite side of the street as Tom Reid's and a little closer to the X I believe. It's on a corner. I'll probably be at McGovern's before the game as well. It'll probably be okay on Thursday, but getting there early is a good idea because it's usually a pretty popular pre-event pub.
  17. Forecheck, the last time I checked, you needed me to play. I'm driving our goalie to the game so I'll be there anyway. As far as a jersey, I have a black jersey but not a green jersey. It would be nice if we could simply be "darks" rather than specifically "green." The number on my jersey is 18. I'm pretty sure I have an extra black jersey if somebody needs one.
  18. You're probably right, but I'm not exactly sure why. They allowed "real" tailgating at Memorial Stadium. Have policies changed since I graduated?
  19. After reading the article more carefully, I think the answers to my first two questions are obvious. It's still a cool idea I guess, but I probably won't go. I just saw "tailgating" and envisioned an atmosphere like at the Alerus for football games. It appears this is a completely different type of deal designed to make $$ off beer sales.
  20. So I read they are allowing tailgating at the Ralph this weekend. I believe the Ralph did this for the Tim McGraw concert this fall, so I thought some of you might have some insight on how it works. I notice that they will have a beer garden. I assume this means that we can't bring our own beer with us. Anyone know for sure? Assuming they don't allow you to bring your own beer, do they make you stand in the beer garden area and drink your beer or can you take it back to your tailgating spot? My assumption is that you have to stand there and drink it. Anyone know how much a beer costs at a Ralph tailgating event? I like the idea of tailgating for a hockey game, but I would MUCH rather have the Alerus rules (for football) than what the Ralph seems to be doing here. Thanks in advance for any insight.

    Prpich

I've been saying for quite some time that Prpich is slowly becoming my favorite player on the team. I really enjoy watching guys who work really hard, are physical, and have the ability to score. And there's just something I like about his on-ice attitude. It was tough as a fan to lose Bayda early, but Prpich has really softened the blow.
  22. My group is headed to State Street Brats before Friday's game. Hope to see some Sioux fans there.
  23. It looks like Nitty Gritty, State Street Brats, or Babe's are all within walking distance of the Kohl (somebody correct me if I'm wrong). For those that are familiar with these places, which would have the best pre-game atmosphere for Sioux fans?
