  1. Martens makes the most of his playing opportunities
  2. The announcers just called St Lawrence a young team. Their average age is almost two years older than the Sioux.
  3. You mean was hot before electricity
  4. Pierre Maguire, has been commenting on various players in the game and their Pro potential His comment on Brian Lee is that Ottawa drafted him too high. Hard to disagree right now when you look at some of the players who were picked afterwards, like Luc Bourdon. The only good news is that Lee should be a four year player and hopefully he can still elevate his play for the Sioux. The bad news, he believes Chorney could be in Edmonton next season.
  5. Pretty PP goal by Kane to make it 3-0 USA.
  6. Watching the TSN feed on TV.
  7. Anyone else watching the game It is now 2-0 USA with a goal from Jack Johnson on a delayed penalty call.
  8. Team USA up 1-0 on Slovakia on a PP goal by Kane.
  9. Tomorrows game could get some TSN coverage in Canada as St Lawrence's McKenzie is the son of TSN analyst Bob McKenzie.
  10. They have a football team. We get all the bowl games in Canada and I don't recall watching them.
  11. Just having some breathing room feels good.
  12. I never would have guessed at the beginning of the season that Bina was going to be our goal scoring machine from the blueline. He scores because he shoots and I hope the other D-men are watching.
  13. Sioux are lucky the juicy big rebound didn't get knocked in.
  14. The officials clearly dominated the last few minutes of that period.
  15. Right you are, back in his crease and on his knees, no chance whatsoever.
  16. Lammy backs into his crease and drops to his kness giving the shooter plenty of open real estate to choose from. Not a turnaround to his game yet.
  17. So does Woog except when it comes to those phantom assists.
  18. But he must be their version of Woog as he says he is going to call a phantom play when he sees one.
  19. Oshie is on a mission tonight despite missing the Penalty Shot.
  20. Penalty Shot for Oshie.
  21. Kaip needs to do more of that in the WCHA We have a similar accent problem with our Canadian east coasters
  22. I just got back from a 48 hour marathon of hockey in high definition on my brother's new TV, three World Junior games, two from the Spengler Cup and two NHL games. Most of what I have read within this thread looks like a fairly reasonable assessment. IMO, Sweatt should have been the US player of the game vs Skille because he was the only forward who seemed to be willing to constantly pay the price to create the US scoring chances. In fact I thought he played just as well as Toews. If the Toews thread doesn't get the Skippies spinnning let me light the fuse. EJ is an impressive specimen of a lad but he is dumber than $&*@ which doesn't preclude you from attending UMTC. His two boneheaded mistakes (especially the stick toss ) snuffed out what could have been a US rally and handed the game right back to Canada. Other than his OT blunder against Germany, my family members agree that Chorney has been the best US D-man. Furthermore, Ogopogo may be chewing up the current crop of WCHA D-men but the second coming of Vanek he is not. Toews, said it best in his TSN interview, that how you think on the ice is just as important as your physical abilities and some gifted athletes lack the required vision. More Sweatt, and USA would be the team to beat.
  23. Not an NHL sized arena, which is what I meant. The current Pens arena sits about 2,000 more.
  24. As much as I would love to see Winnipeg get the team, it isn't going to happen. It lacks the arena, per capita income and corporate support that other cities have to offer. I spent nine years living in Winnipeg and loved the city; however, I didn't meet very many locals who would be willing to pay the current price for NHL tickets.
  25. Your short response shows that you definitely could care less.
