And if you are one of those thin skinned Gopher fans that I alluded to in my previous post, why in the name of hockey would you visit another teams chat. Do yourself a favor and stick with a site that only speaks highly of your empire.

Perhaps your post explains why Gophers fans are the way they are. If you are so thin-skinned that a taunt is still troubling you one decade later than you have my sympathy. Perhaps this thin skin is why Gopher fans always turn nasty towards the other team's fans when things don't go well in their barn. Woog's mention of the donnybrook (started by old man Olimb if I remember correctly) is a perfect example. Yet it wasn't the Gopher dad's who got tossed out that evening and they probably didn't have to pay for their tickets. I vowed to never spend another dime on hockey in the TC and I have a few knuckle scars as a souvenir from that one. I have travelled to quite a few road games over the years to watch the Sioux play at all the WCHA arenas except Houghton and, other than a few obnoxious drunks in Wisconsin, I have never witnessed the arrogant and unsportsmanlike behaviour anywhere else. I have been taunted by other fans when the Sioux stunk out the place, especially in the 70s, but giving and taking it is all part of both the game and being a true fan

I choose to discuss results that matter because it doesn't leave one scratching their head come March and wonder how the wheels fell off.

In PCM's recap of the Coaches show, Hak stated he would make the trip but would be a game time decision. So perhaps he will sit Friday and, if any of the starters don't want to move their feet and hit, he would play in Saturday's game. Maybe some wishful thinking on my part, but I would really like to see Brian Lee have a breakout weekend, to see him finally take control of a game. It is about time for him to show everyone why he was so highly regarded.

It wouldn't have to be this way if the quality of WCHA officiating had kept up to the improved quality of the league over the past several decades. I follow the CHL and Tier Two Junior leagues in Eastern Ontario fairly closely and when I go to a game I know that I can expect officiating that is both predictable and consistent. I have never heard fans from either team have to say "Oh no, we have Anderson tonight so the calls will be made up" or "It's Shepard and his marbles tonight". Do you know of any other league where this is such a blatant problem

If you read furhter back in this thread, when Lee got walked by a "PLUG", you will see that I totally agree with you. My message was aimed at the fans who chose to bring Finley into your exchange of viewpoints. My message to them is that the expectations of the two players in question were quite different.

I think we can all agree that the expectations of what we thought Lee would bring to this team were far different from the expectations for Finley. Given the upcoming weekend I say let's kill this thread and the player bashing. Save all that bashing for the dirty Gophers.

Regarding the first point, we all know that the Gopher Coffin is usually rolled out in late March. Regarding the second point, when UND wins we will all know exactly how the Gopher brass felt about the officiating if the inidividual in question disappears from next seasons WCHA official's roster. Regardless of whether he does a good job or not.

There is nothing decent about him other than the career he might have in the ECHL.

I don't care which night Lammy is run, we will get to watch another Gopher punching bag in action.
