I know there must be a difference between the Gopher and Leaf fan base but to this day I haven't been able to put my finger on it. Unless you would be willing to accept the stronger beer as an excuse for TO fan behaviour. The relationship between Montreal and Toronto fans is very similar to that of UND vs UMTC. Toronto fans are also convinced that they are the center of the hockey universe despite their lack of playoff success.

And if you are one of those thin skinned Gopher fans that I alluded to in my previous post, why in the name of hockey would you visit another teams chat. Do yourself a favor and stick with a site that only speaks highly of your empire.

Perhaps your post explains why Gophers fans are the way they are. If you are so thin-skinned that a taunt is still troubling you one decade later than you have my sympathy. Perhaps this thin skin is why Gopher fans always turn nasty towards the other team's fans when things don't go well in their barn. Woog's mention of the donnybrook (started by old man Olimb if I remember correctly) is a perfect example. Yet it wasn't the Gopher dad's who got tossed out that evening and they probably didn't have to pay for their tickets. I vowed to never spend another dime on hockey in the TC and I have a few knuckle scars as a souvenir from that one. I have travelled to quite a few road games over the years to watch the Sioux play at all the WCHA arenas except Houghton and, other than a few obnoxious drunks in Wisconsin, I have never witnessed the arrogant and unsportsmanlike behaviour anywhere else. I have been taunted by other fans when the Sioux stunk out the place, especially in the 70s, but giving and taking it is all part of both the game and being a true fan

In PCM's recap of the Coaches show, Hak stated he would make the trip but would be a game time decision. So perhaps he will sit Friday and, if any of the starters don't want to move their feet and hit, he would play in Saturday's game. Maybe some wishful thinking on my part, but I would really like to see Brian Lee have a breakout weekend, to see him finally take control of a game. It is about time for him to show everyone why he was so highly regarded.

I hope all the a$$#01e$ who ripped and questioned the heart and play of both Oshie and Toews in the first half of the season are feeling lower than a snake's belly right now. What both of these great young talents played through in the first half of the schedule is amazing and some of you owe them an apology. You know who you are!
