If Hak gets in a bind on D here is another Winnipeger he could possibly turn too. I know this family well as my son used to play with Wade. Father is in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. In fact Wade reminds me of a young Hak. http://www.wsblues.mb.ca/profiles/Poplawski.html

See the Vote for Toews thread. You got your wish as the NHL scouts have spoken and there is nothing left to debate or discuss regarding the two players in question.
-
Both of Toews goals were beauties and he was the dominant player in the first half of the scrimmage. TSN Analyst MacKenzie was saying that he talked to a bunch of the scouts who were in Grand Forks last weekend and they all stated that of the two prospects in the series, Toews is the complete package so we don't need to debate that one with the Skippies anymore.
-
He could be back as Coach Sutter intends to make some cuts tomorrow however, the remaining cuts won't be made until after the game against UBC this weekend and based on TSN reports he should make it at least that far if not all the way.

This doesn't really tell us anything about the UM Golden Gophers that we didn't already know. Remember nothing there is illegal or wrong unless someone gets caught and someone outside of the UM decides to do something about it. This time next year this will all have never happened, so back to what matters, Sioux Hockey

Looks like a concussion. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=146942&hubname=

The upcoming draft has already been labelled as being very weak and that only the first half dozen picks will be getting a bue-chip prospect.
-
He is only 16 but has amazing Stats that are on a par with what Crosby did his first year in the Quebec Major Juniors. Given that Canada's team will be so young anyway and that it could be considered an opportunity for experience I will not be surprised if both he and Toews make the team. Additionally, given coach Sutter's style and expectations I agree with TSN's assessment that Toews has the best chance of all.

This is just like last years posts all over again. In such a big and important series the freshmen did everything that could be expected of them but we did not get enough from the upperclassmen, some more so than others. Hopefully, like last year, the upperclassmen will show up every game to end out the schedule and the team will pull it out. In other words I expect to be a fan in pain until the end of January.

Regardless of the officiating where was Stafford this weekend.
-
Yes that is their coach
-
Actually, I thought Prpich played his game but this was another one where Stafford didn't deliver the effort we need from him. However, as has been stated and supported by Hak, their second goal was not a goal and if one of Toews posts had been an inch to the right we'd be the ones smiling today. The commissioner was in the stands and I hope he got an earful as to just how pathetic his officials truly are. Rinks are being filled to watch the top WCHA talent so why turn away marginal paying customers with officiating that you would expect at the midget level or lower.
-
Hey now, he can even write that M on his own now.
-
Taz, now you can make your comment about the Sioux as most of them don't seem to have anything left in the tank.
-
Just like the prototype dirty Gopher Vanilla to go after the Sioux 17 year old at the end of the period. Class Act.
-
Sorry Taz boy but you are wrong. The Goofs are good with the puck but they are only getting it more often because of the calls they have been getting away with in their own zone. In fact their D has looked shakier than ours from the feed I am watching.
-
Well how can this team beat both the dirty Gophers and the officials?
-
Kessel hooks Stafford, direct impact on a scoring chance. How is that letting them play?
-
Prpich taking them for the team.
-
One thing that is a constant in this universe. The Gophers truly are dirty!
-
I guess they had to call a penalty as there were three in that same sequence alone.
-
Evidence once again that officiating hasn't kept pace with quality players. Time to import some Major Junior refs from Canada to educate this pathetic bozos. Next time Parise should give him the old Eddie Belfour tomahawk.
-
It didn't work on Goepfort but worked nicely on Briggs.
-
You called that one. 1-1
