It looks like they have been recruiting heavily in western Canada and I notice that they are the team that picked up Wong. However, other than Cashmen there isn't anyone in their lineup that should be capable of matching up against the UND roster.

I don't know much about basketball and normally I stick to posting on the hockey chat, but if the basketball team is looking for some talent when they go D-1 then I suggest they check out Kyle Smendziuk of All-Saints here in Ottawa, Ontario. I work with Kyle's dad and he informed that his son wants to pursue pilot training in university. I told his dad about the UND Aerspace School and the kid was impressed with what he read online. Just do an online search on Kyle's name and you will see that he has been a factor both provincially and nationally. As a 16 year old he made Ontario's U-17 team and they won the Gold at this years national championships. Kyle shut down the 6'11" British Columbia center (Robert Sacre a Gonzaga recruit) in the final game. Webcast is not up yet. Actually the 2-1 record was Manitoba's exhibition record. They started their regular season this weekend and split with Regina so they are 3-2 overall.

Which Dogs, UMD or SCSU?

Manitoba won last nights game 3-2. They tightened up defensively from the previous night and limited Regina to 21 shots. They worked really hard to avoid getting swept at home and my prediction still stands, they will have one good period then nothing left in the tank.

Has any D1 team ever had a player that young as one of its Captains. The Sioux coaches know what they have and now the rest of the NCAA is about to find out.

Manitoba lost 6-4 to Regina last night in Winnipeg and have to play them again this evening. They may give the Sioux a good first period but I doubt they will have anything left after that.
