UND up 2 with about 12 minutes left now..........

Ralston just said that Brekke appears to be done for the night..............
-
Decent 1st half by the Sioux, but had a pretty crummy stretch from about the 6 minute mark to the 2 minute mark. Led by 11 at one point.

UND MEN'S BASKETBALL: Green and White to play Bowling Green during conference break
-
LET'S GET BACK ON THE TOPIC AT HAND AND STOP WITH THE PERSONAL ATTACKS.
-
New Mexico St. has never really been a world-beater in football though, with or without Faison. I don't really see the correlation. New Mexico State's football record during Faison's 6 years as A.D. was 29-40. In the 6 years prior to his tenure they were 18-48. In the 6 seasons after he left the A.D. post, they went 16-58. But, again, he wasn't on the Aggie coaching staff or the active player roster, nor does he participate in either of those roles for North Dakota.

I don't feel that I've lowered my expectations, rather I feel I am able to look at the situation objectively and realistically. I was quite disappointed at how the 2012 season unfolded. I thought the team would minimally be a 6 win team, likely be a 7 win team, and best-case-scenario be an 8 win team. With a swiss cheese defense, a freshman quarterback, and a largely ineffective running game, I'm afraid that 7 wins next season would be quite a feat. Do I expect more from this program? Yes. But that is what I see right now. Personally, I would be very disappointed if 3 to 4 years from now we are not winning playoff games. 7-4................ probably 8-3.................absolutely

I don't believe that I censored anybody. Feel free to voice your opinion. I've been accused of being a "status-quo" guy, and a "duckies and bunnies" guy. I was just offering one reason why I don't blame every little thing that goes wrong on the coaching staff............. I'm just saying that, personally, since I am a farmer that has no NCAA coaching experience, I don't think I'm in a great position to say that the job that Coach Mussman, Coach Hakstol, or Coach Jones are doing in their occupation is inadequate. I don't think any of those 3 guys would be overly-qualified to tell me how to raise a good crop of soybeans. Obviously, alot of people here feel otherwise. That is fine. I was just pointing out why I am not one of the posters here that calls for a coach's head everytime we are behind in the score of a sporting event. As someone with an obvious vested interest in Sioux sports, I encourage you to continue to opine on such matters. I am also a graduate and current supporter of the University. Like you, I don't require agreement with my positions, but I don't think there is a problem with me expressing them, even if they don't fall in line with the majority....................

Personally, I have always been a bit reluctanct to criticize our coaches (although it does happen from time to time), since I have never coached athletics at the NCAA level so I feel rather unqualified to do so. I also rarely criticize pilots because I've never flown an airplane, and usually I refrain from admonishing surgeons because I'm not a doctor.

Good point. I believe SUU's facility is also quite a bit larger than the Sioux Center. The student section at our basketball games is almost always atrocious, whether or not they are on holiday break.
-
Surprised by the SUU number. Watching that game, it looked there were at most 500 people there, and that is generous........
-
The injuries are tough, but that happens. I can't get over the disparity between the talent of the Huff/Anderson/Schuler/Webb/Brekke class and the other classes. However, I think that if a player can recieve and MVP award for the first 1/3 of a season, ours should go to Wilmer. He has really been solid this year.............
-
Oh, that would suck...................
-
I knew we got off to a rough start, but I never would have guessed watching the game that we shot just 33%. We took 30 more shots than UNC, and made 2 fewer buckets all night. Not a recipe for success.....................
-
They've actually shot from the charity stripe really well all year with the exception of the UMKC game. 12/15 tonight. Major improvement there thus far.
