So your comparing Wisconsin's climate to Grand Forks. Interesting. Factor in tradition and school size and conference before you start telling us how the UND football program should run like a Big Ten School. Oh, and don't forget the 20 million dollars a year they get from the Big Ten Network when making your list.
-
You also don't see any bigtime programs playing in a climate or the weather that we have here. The wind and rain and snow that begins late in the fall is too much to overcome. There are only 6 home games and if one of them is in driving sleet and 20 degree temps there will be 3000 people there. There is a reason why UND and Fargo University both built indoor facilities.

I am sure Bin and Oxbow would be all for that. "Braden threw for 660 yards and 5 TD's, but he underthrew the receiver 3 times. They should split time next week"
-
Then say something positive about their team for the first time. Back handed compliments dont count. You are very quick to defend SU on here...we know that much. UND just threw for 660 yards. Any thoughts?
-
I watched the replay of the Braden Hanson QB sneak and he absolutely got at least 1 yard on that jump. What the hell were the refs thinking? The Montana NG got no push at all plus Hanson got a full jump in over the top of McGurran... and stretched the ball out fully as far as he could with no opposition. That was as good of a QB sneak as a team can get in that situation.
-
Sorry, but they don't have the mental capacity or the balls to do that. The first sign of adversity they had this year they completely folded vs. Poly and EWU, back to back. I hope your right but its not happening.

I may not be the biggest UND FB fan in the world but I am up there. If the team isn't going to try, isn't going to show emotion or care - why should I? And to be honest, even if they go out and upset Northern Arizona, there will still be a fundamental flaw with the overall makeup of this team. Sadly, it shows how good they could be if they laid it all on the line and played emotional football as a team.
-
With this group I am not sure they were embarrassed. They probably still think they are great - which is the problem. When the fans are more embarrased than the players, you have an issue. Towards the end of the game several players could be seen patting the opposing player on the helmet and being all friendly. They were not mad or embarrassed by the fact they were down by 31 points. Sad.

The last thing UND fans need to be worried about is FCS polls. Lets win 3-4 more games then worry.
-
Poly has been done with the transition for several years now.
-
South Dakota, so that helped. 2010 was SUU and 2011 was Cal-Poly.

Homecoming and a Top 25 team = 11,000. Check out the history of homecoming attendance: 2011 - 9,930 2010 - 10,215 2009 - 12,431

I think McFeeley said it best: "Thank God we had 4 games to see how good Crockett is so we could make an example of Ojuri." Interesting choice/timing in suspending Ojuri for his multiple infractions. All of the other players with multiple infractions have not been suspended (Beck, Williams, etc.)

We are definitely happy about being in the Big Sky and having a shot at the playoffs, don't get me wrong. This season has so much more excitement to it!
-
This all makes sense but my point was the teams actually have to get the "wins" to be considered. If a team ends up with 7 wins, than Yes, stength of schedule comes into play. But getting those 7 wins is a hell of alot harder when you have MT and MTST on your schedule vs. Weber and ISU.
-
No, its a break for them all the way around. Montana and Montana State are much, much better than ISU and Weber every day of the year. ISU and Weber are in 12th and 13th place. Substitute those two into UND's schedule and I am pretty confident we get 6 or 7 wins.
-
Luck of the draw. And on the opposite end, UND does not get to play Weber State or Idaho State. UND has by far the toughest Big Sky schedule.
-
There is alot of misinformation out there about the 3-4 vs. Veer and Triple Option, It was brought in to stop the veer, which is an entirely different animal than the triple option. Some principles are the same but what Poly was running yesterday is nothing like the veer. Yes, I will agree that the defensive line got abused yesterday.
-
Your a pathetic neutral little man who likes both UND and NDSU the same. Right?
-
Only for you big guy. Another FBS loss to the rest of the fan base.
-
No. Those only exist in the Moral Victory Football Conference.
-
So after all that, you are convinced that a 5-7 Ball State team is as good as an 11-3 Northern Illinois team. Also, Nate Davis wasn't the QB when NDSU played them, which is what we are talking about.
-
Yah, THANK GOD! I seem to remember Saul bringing his team to Canada in the preseason last year to get some games in. Not sayin...just sayin.
-
UND had their chance vs. NIU and Fresno State and could not pull it off. Simple as that.
-
You need to think before you type. Ball State was 5-7 that year. NIU ended up 11-3 and won their bowl game. Ball State has been good twice in the past how many years.....25? And it wasn't that year.
