A bit different then. We were D2, things moved a little slower. Also, the only candidates were three former/current UND coaches and some other guy from out west. It was pretty clear who was going to get the job from the outset.

Who is trashing anybody? Read the posts. Mine was about what Faison has been "rumored" to be thinking. Has nothing to do with the qualities and history of our coaches.

I am not saying anything bad about the former UND coaches, I know them all. Relax. What I am saying is he does not feel like he has to appease the masses by hiring from the UND network - what some on here refer to as the "good old boy" network. That is why I termed it that. He has been said to want to hire his own guy, his own stamp on the program that would bring in fresh blood. Also, I am not saying he is right. Just passing along what I heard, and its reliable.

Unfortunately, that is our bush-league D2 style hiring process for a FB coach. This is the same process they went through to hire Lennon back in 1999. Search committee, long length of time, etc.

I have heard from many people that Faison is not overly fond of the good old boy UND FB network. That tells me we will more than likely be seeing an outsider being named.

I sure as hell hope not.

Spot on, like I said last week. Also, the new coach can recruit during dead period over phone lining up visits for January, which are going to be huge just to get a few players.

Also heard about Pflug's not making the final nine. If that is the case, then they really, really did not want to deal with any issues he had at MT. There are not nine better coaches than him on list. Maybe 2-3.

No worries there. He is more than taking his time.

Lighten up. Don't take everything so seriously, it's a joke in the middle of a drawn out search. Treat it as such. Nobody is looking down on UND for this, they have nothing to do with him sending in an app for a joke. If anything it's media exposure for the university. Anybody can send one in and the University has to accept it.

I would love for UND to beat a team like Notre Dame. Or even Bowling Green, for that matter. But, we would need to get them at home to do it, unfortunately.

Talked to somebody familiar with Deboer, as he coached with him. Told me he would not be a better candidate than the one's that have already applied. Great coach, smart guy, but not a real strict disciplinarian. Kind of laid back. Which is fine, but not for this program, right now. UND needs somebody who is going to command respect and clean this thing up.

UND won 6 road conference games last year. Non-conference, nope. They will be just fine in the Big Sky.

If NDSU came to the Betty this weekend, UND would win again. Great at home, terrible on the road. Facts of life. If the game was at BSA, UND would lose by 20 30.

I don't know why everyone cannot get over that UND lost on the road. It's what they do. Now, they will come back home and kick the sh*t out of SDSU. Just the way they work. Would love to know why they cannot win on the road but whatever, their home games are fun at least!

Exactly what I was saying a couple days ago and got ripped for it. The process is not moving forward - its sitting still, idling in park. Now, 23 days later, he is "considering" doing some phone interviews. What a joke. This isn't D2 anymore and it isn't bush league NMSU.
