i'm guessing the only reason he's a first line guy or healthy scratch is because he's not tough enough to be on lines 2,3 or obviously 4....he's able to get away with it a little more up there and try use his skills and speed and not hit as much.....which is also why i don't like him up there leaving oshie as the only one on that line that can run into a corner balls out, knock them down, and take the puck......it makes him the obvious odd man out.... btw...stop putting marto at forward...leave radke in the flippin lineup...radke is to the sioux what boooooogard is to the wild...with more emotion and leadership...other teams take note and not as many liberties when they know that the end result might be getting their ass handed to them by 26

prolly a good thing that it was a short walk to white castle so when white castle was done with you it was also a short but very quick walk home!!!! gotta love the sliders!!

stupid over acheiver!!! hahaha young kids and their dreams....and the ability to live them out....selfish is what it is!!! i personally like kozek cuz he gets in the corners and does the dirty work.....miller is more offensively "gifted" or "smooth" but i've noticed he's a few steps slower without the puck.."lazy" comes to mind but prolly isn't the right word...and he shy's away from the physical, which is not what that line needs...duncan and osh get tackled too often and duncan seems to have lost a step or defenseman are faster this year...so that leaves osh with all the hard corner digging and fantastic rushes, but also needing to finish more....tough league, tough defense, garbage officials=lower scoring and need for a kozek on a first line... ....but since hak is the one makin 250k to make that decision it's tough to second guess from the armchair...

i understand your point and i'm not disagreeing with you but it makes sense up here with that rivalry...it gives them both the opportunity to represent the section and their communities...A and AA up here all play each other in the section...so they do get to play the better competition...and it's not often that it's a laupsided contest either....at least with the top 3 or 4 teams from a and aa...at least in section 8...i don't know how scheduling works down in the cities... i personally like the 2 tier system as it adds an extra day of awesome hockey and it gives twice as many teams the chance to repressent themselves and their communities in front of the entire state....... if anything...they should have the winner of A play the winner of AA and see who reigns supreme....it would add another day and game to the tourney...Sunday is wide open!!!!

why not hang a banner in each town?? when there is a realistic chance to do it almost every year (at least as of late and in the past) why wouldn't they?? they have there home and home battle every year and it's fantastic...but why jump up to beat the crap out of each other in sections and then only one go to the X??

no such thing as "freshman" anymore!!! they both need to step it up

on the power play i think the reason chay has been able to do that is a biproduct of their breakout..they come out of their own zone 4 wide...almost every time the dman gets the puck off to one of the wingers and they either rush it in and set it up or they dump and chase....in the cases where chay has been able to rush it in and get a shot is when the other team takes away the outlet to either winger and leave a seam for chay to walk through...i think it helps that he is lickity split quick, but it doesn't happen that often so i can't say that marto or lapoint or finley couldn't do it, cuz we've seen bina do it too....it's just a 3rd option that's rarely there with the power play breakout they run and it's up to the other team to provide that option for them...often times the other team has a penalty killer that will press the dman with the puck so they dump it to the winger a little sooner in most cases

it looks like it was his own stick that hit him in the face as he didn't let go of it with his bottom hand as we braced himself to get hit...it came up and whacked him pretty good....lost a tooth and 50 stitches...that can't feel good!!! he's a trooper though..good for him to not miss any time!!

he's probably not adjusting to the speed of the game, or the physicality of the game....i've said it before, i thought he was extremely over hyped when he came here....he WOULD NOT go into the corners in high school, he avoided the physical contact as much as possible....and once he decided to take a hit..he got hurt in the state tourney 2 years ago, i'm sure that sits in the back of his mind every time he goes in the corner with his eyes closed....sorry for being negative about a sioux player, but he is one that i see having part or all of his scholarship taken away and winding up somewhere else next year....IMHO.... if the sioux were to have a mulligan on who to take off of that theif river team that year, it shoulda been bendickson...he was the workhorse on that line...forney got the glory...

toby..hands down my favorite...i also liked it when vickar would do that rapid fire!! that was pretty cool

but if you listen to his show he constantly bashes the players and the lack of anything they are doing....he's called out barriball more than a handful of times...he's not afraid to rip the gophers on the radio...i don't think he's allowed to get carried away with the ripping on fsn but i've heard him speak ill of the team there too....in the same breath, he has some solid ready-made excuses for some of the players too. all in all i think that some people hear what they want and will hate him just cuz he's a gopher fan...overall i like him and their 3 hour program (sans the constant viking talk year long...they could stand to mix in MORE hockey during the viking offseason and more baseball in the summer)

do you need therapy?? the saddest thing is that if this "non call" woulda went against central or grafton or south or any team from out west or east grand forks or roseau or crookston...pretty much any other team in the area..it would be chalked up as a loss, congratulate the other team on a good game and it would be forgotten....but since it happened to the silver spooners on the south end it's a fricken life changing moment and there lives with be affected forever....it will haunt their nightmares in 25 years of how they got "jobbed" in a f'n hockey game...you spoiled cry babys need to just accept that it was a well played game....because regardless if you feel like you got screwed...you still had around 30 minutes after that tying goal to pot one of your own and skate around with the trophy...both teams had plenty of chances and it took into the 3rd overtime for someone to finally cash in.....

what makes him an asshole??? he might "hate" the sioux program but he respects the hell out of it, give us credit when it's due, and LOVES the rivalry between our beloved team and his beloved team........so i repeat...what makes him an asshole??

they scored and piled into the corner!!!!! i don't care where it happens...there's no excuse for it....when you score a goal that big the absolute LAST thing you're thinking about is where you celebrate!! to say it was "red rivers glass" is just silly... had they skated around for a minute and made it a point to do RIGHT in front of the red river students (ala danny irmen in front of the sioux student section a couple years ago) then that's just piss poor on the players part....this was not the case saturday night however

i understand that but as i sat and watched these kids throw things, they weren't just throwing it onto the ice...they were aiming at the grafton players..i even saw a grafton player catch a water bottle as it hit him in the chest.....its a deplorable act to begin with just throwing it on the ice, but to be doing it with malice towards the players or officials....
