I was informed that tickets for the BU series won't be available until late September (no specific date yet).

What's with all the marijuana logos?
-
If only you'd done so a few months ago; I could have put that on the back of my new Siouxsports hat!
-
Come on...we all know you try to pick these little fights just so you can get your post count up. Crap. Does that count as a joke? And I just promised that I'd try to stay away from those!
-
Nope, I don't. I was just attempting a joke. I will never do so again.
-
Because you're not allowed to be a Sioux fan and question whether or not disciplinary actions are adequate. Heck, you're not supposed to question anything related to the program. Come on, MafiaMan, at 6,000+ posts you should know this by now!

Got mine yesterday (thanks Siouxman for not making me wait til Christmas). It's absolutely awesome!

There are a couple bars right by the DU campus (can't remember names), but your best bet for going out post-game is in the downtown/16th St mall area. It's a quick and easy lightrail ride from DU. For hotels, I strongly recommend either staying downtown or somewhere very close to a lightrail station. It's significantly more convenient (even if you aren't drinking) when you don't have to worry about driving everywhere.

That was actually an Eddie impersonator

Hopefully the fact that this is a Christmas present doesn't mean that Siouxman is going to make me wait til Christmas to get it! It sure would be a great piece to wear around BU in November! (*hint hint)

Aaron Rodgers bet his salary for this upcoming season (a mere $4.5 million, I believe) to some random guy on Twitter that RB was clean. Somehow, I'm thinking he won't be following through with the payment of that bet...

This crossed my mind, too. When you're being brought in at the last minute because someone like JT Miller bolted, is this something that gets discussed? For all we know, the coaches talked to them about the opportunities available right away (with the open roster) but made it plainly clear that getting playing time might prove to be more difficult once more top-tier recruits came in a year or two down the road. Some might get restless and jump ship, but I wouldn't be surprised if many of them stick around just to be part of the program. I remember being surprised when Cichy transferred because he had said during his freshman year that even without playing in games he was getting so much better just by practicing with a team of this caliber. That ended up not being enough for him, but it very well might be enough for some of these guys.

I would consider the 2012 injury-plagued team to be an underdog. They won a TON of games, but based on paper statistics/shortened line-up, etc. they technically shouldn't have won near as many as they did...especially as the season wore on.

Granted, I only saw one game in Salzburg, but I would put the quality above the several Colorado Eagles games I've attended. Definitely not up to the AHL, but above ECHL. I'm not saying Europe has anything on the NHL...I realize how different the talent level and schedules are. I guess I never really expected to see Duncan in the NHL. I expected him to be a career AHLer or Europe player, primarily due to his size. So, I think he's done fairly well after college. I'd be more likely to apply the "didn't do much" label to someone like Brady Murray (who has roughly the same experience now as Duncan...one year AHL, several years Europe), merely because I expected more out of Brady in the first place.
-
He's played in Salzburg for several years and played a year for the Portland Pirates in the AHL. It's definitely not the NHL, but I hardly think that qualifies as "didn't do much."
-
By the time the playoffs reach the finals, I think you'd be hard pressed to find many players who aren't battling injuries. I just love the willingness to battle through (as opposed to basketball players, etc).
-
Agreed. That game was one heck of a way to start a series!

Fargo isn't ideal because of the smaller arena. But if it's the Xcel, then Minnesota hosts, not the Sioux. And while it's likely the NCAA would throw us both in that regional, it's also possible that the Sioux still get sent out east when there's a regional there.

This seems as good as any other thread to put random thoughts in: Major props to the Chicago Steel for drafting Jack Jablonski in the USHL draft yesterday. What a great experience for him.

According to Brad, Mike Cavanaugh is in the final stages of talks for the UConn job. Which means Gwoz is still available to Maine if they so choose...

Thanks for posting that video. Funny to hear Kristo pronounced "Cree-stow" Good comeback win for the US after going down 2-0 in the first 6 minutes.

Danny with 2 assists at the World's this morning.

According to the BDN, Gwoz is one of 3 finalists for the UConn job. Also notes a player who decommitted after Whitehead's firing. http://bangordailynews.com/2013/05/02/sports/ex-denver-coach-bc-assistant-among-three-finalists-for-uconn-hockey-coaching-post/
