  1. just seems to me that minn always thinks that they go pee pee in a better pot than everyone else. I guess that arrogance is what irritates me about them. I dont feel that way about any other team though

Really? I feel that way about DU and BC too! Go figure they all have relatively the same colors!

  2. Here are a few numbers RE: the four starting goaltenders. UND and Gothberg both got off to rocky starts this season, but here is how Goth's & the other three FF starting goalies' numbers rank nationally in games played since Nov 30th:

    Gothberg: 1.71 GAA (1st Nationally), .934 Save % (6th), 18 Wins (2nd), .804 Win % (2nd), 3 Shutouts (T-6th)

    Stevens (Union): 1.92 GAA (6th), .936 Save % (5th), 21 Wins (1st), .846 Win % (1st), 5 Shutouts (T-1st)

    Wilcox (UM): 1.76 GAA (2nd), .937 Save % (T-2nd), 16 Wins (6th), .771 Win % (4th), 3 Shutouts (T-6th)

    Demko (BC): 2.05 GAA (10th), .925 Save % (16th), 13 Wins (9th), .778 Win & (3rd), 2 Shutouts (T-14th)

I'd say if anyone is a possible weak link, it's Demko.

  3. Hopefully these two weeks prove invaluable for injury recovery.

Parks had his wrist thoroughly wrapped up this past weekend. I really think MacMillan is injured just based on the fact that he was absolutely dynamic when he first came back from injury and is now relatively unnoticeable.

I'm sure there are a ton more that I just haven't noticed yet.

  4. Bryce van Brabant left QU to sign with Calgary.

Regarding Oesterle, I believe I read somewhere that he is the 4th D-man to leave WMU early in the past 2 years. Considering it generally takes longer to develop freshman D than F, that's brutal.

  5. I'd go. Despite what some say on here, the opportunity to see your favorite team play at the Frozen Four doesn't happen all the time. Plus, if you don't go, you'll take it to your effing grave.... Your effing grave.

Definitely agree on going. I can't rearrange my work schedule for Thursday but, if the Sioux win, I very well might make the 11-12 hour drive down to Philly Friday after work for the championship game.

  6. Great points. His speed, tenacity, and compete level are tremendous. His ceiling is certainly very high. I don't think you'd find many arguments if you said Rocco is the most skilled player on the team. I believe that myself. Would really like to see him chin up and just keep plugging away when it doesn't work. Easy for my lazy rear to say. He's all over the keep plugging away part, but I hate to see anyone in a UND jersey hang their head.

I actually thought Rocco did an excellent job of that on Saturday night. He was being clutched and grabbed and pulled every which way, yet he kept trying to power through it. I swear Czarnowczan made it his personal mission to repeatedly attack Grimaldi in that game; tripped him behind the net and then cross-checked him hard as soon as Ferris touched up (right in front of the official, though only the trip was called). And Rocco just skated away and kept pushing on the very next shift.

  7. Anyone else thinking that it helps to have Karl Goehring in there coaching the goalies?

Absolutely. I loved reading the 'File it Away' story on CHN from last night's game. It's one thing for a goalie coach to teach actual logistics. But it's clear from that story that Karl really helps them tackle the mental battle as well.

  8. imo the top end talent is at d, which will become even more apparent in the future

I definitely agree with this. For all the crap everyone gives Berry about the collasal failure of our power play, the improvement and growth of the D under his coaching has been incredibly apparent.
