I figured that you would be adding to the conversation at that point.

I recognize that, but when you say Arrowhead Stadium, people think of Chiefs.
-
Memorial Stadium should stay Memorial Stadium until/unless someone gives a large donation to renovate the facility, which would allow them to place their name on it. I prefer not to have Arrows associated with NA. As I have said before, arrows have been used for thousands of years by many cultures and the name cannot be claimed by the NA.

Wouldn't an Arrow finial look perfect on the top of the vertical pole on the top of the new Robin Hall? And it ironically points toward the north. UND Arrows. It is simple, strong and unique. I mentioned before that it is on the state flag. It is also on the state seal.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_of_North_Dakota#mediaviewer/File:North_Dakota_state_seal.jpg JackJD mentioned that he saw the ND logo and it looked just fine by itself. Take the ND and add the arrow and it looks even better. http://forum.siouxsports.com/topic/9644-random-nickname-ideas/?p=744879

Hate to see something like this written, even it is just from an opposing fan with no axe to grind.... http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=45821.0 UND was outscored 43-25 in the 2nd Half, after leading by 5 at halftime. UND seems to lack in the fundamentals. Is that bad coaching, bad listening, bad attitudes or is there lack of respect going on? When I read that comment from an opposing fan's observation, it make me wonder what it is going on. There is definitely a problem between the players and the coaches.

The person who registered it sits in Room 302 at Twamley.

Did a quick domain search and UNDSUNDOGS.COM is already registered. Originating from Twamley. The registration dates back to 2010.

Take a look through some old box scores and I bet you will find that UND gets outscored in the second half, more often than not. Other teams make adjustments, where UND does not seem to.

The Weekly Live Chat should be interesting this afternoon.

Why then and not now? Seems quite odd. Firing him disrupts the team?? Perhaps that is what needs to happen. Obviously the status quo is not good. With what "we" pay...? Maybe the reason UND isn't paying Jones more is because he hasn't earned more. "We" basically suck at everything. Maybe you do, but UND does not. The WBB and VB teams don't suck. The S/D teams have been competing quite well. You have already written off next season of football? Man, you really are a debbie downer. For those who think UND should cut different sports from the athletic department to redirect money, isn't this supposed to be about opportunities for the student/athlete?

Coincidentally, took the kids out to their first 4-H archery lesson this past weekend. Still liking the UND Arrows idea. The Aerospace program could be nicknamed UND Arrowspace.
-
Have the players already given up on Jones? I have to ask after watching the post game presser linked on this page.... http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=209808020

As recently as last week, I was in favor of giving Jones the benefit of the doubt. Over the last couple of years I have been reading message boards about what other fans thought about UND. The general consensus being good/great players with poor to bad coaching. I looked past that as possibly just "no nothing fans". After last night's debacle, I must say I agree. No, I didn't see the game, just followed it via the internet. When I read a tweet from a Herald sportswriter saying he saw the worst half of basketball he had ever seen, that's saying something. How do you not have your team ready to play this game? How do you not make adjustments during the game? How are you behind by 24 points at halftime to a team that almost lost to Crookston? Trailed by as many as 37 points??? How does that happen? I have been to Fargo many times to watch UND play, sometimes with success and sometimes not, even when UND had the better team. Never have I seen something like this. A change needs to made. Are you reading these comments Mr. Faison? Fans (well me anyway) who would otherwise be supporting Jones have reached the tipping point.

Changing my vote. I think he should now be fired. My dad played for UND and took me took a ton of games growing up. I don't think UND has EVER been embarrassed like this.
-
Another plus on using the "ND" with Arrow, is that it would further differentiate the UND logo from Notre Dame's logo.
-
One more tweak.

Hey, you are not offending me. I am not artistic enough to be offended. I just don't think you can take something like a north arrow as being offensive, as that is essentially what I have done, taken a north arrow from a CAD program and put on UND's existing athletic logo. Maps all over the world have North arrows on them. North just happens to be in the state name and the arrow seems to work well with the current logo.

They are not nicknamed the feathers, closer to the comparison.

From the NCAA website... "Colleges and universities may adopt any mascot that they wish, as that is an institutional matter," said Walter Harrison, chair of the Executive Committee and president at the University of Hartford. "But as a national association, we believe that mascots, nicknames or images deemed hostile or abusive in terms of race, ethnicity or national origin should not be visible at the championship events that we control." I don't see how an arrow can be assigned to a race, ethnicity or national origin. The idea of Arrows came to my mind while reading Robin Hood with my son.
-
Correct. I drew the logo in AutoCAD modifying a standard north arrow detail.

Looks better with black background.
