  1. Does anybody remember if PCM pulled a "Okposo" and left in mid-season? Maybe he's really a goofer.
  2. I remember back in the day when he was just a "sudo reporter". Once he became an unrestricted free agent, I knew the big deals would start to present themselves. I just hope he doesn't let the fame and fortune go to his head.
  3. I believe you're right. I heard through the grapevine that the national exposure and big payday from uscho lured him away from SiouxSports. It's kind of like the Gophers and Badgers kicking the WCHA to the curb for the big bucks and national exposure of the Big Ten Network.
  4. Back then, I believe PCM was posting on this board so I'm pretty sure it was either him or Star2City. They're probably too modest to come on here and brag about it though.
  5. As hockey fans, we're a spoiled bunch with The Ralph, the coaching, the players and the whole Fighting Sioux Hockey Program. Another area we've been spoiled in is with the coverage we enjoy. Brad's wrote a lot of great articles on Sioux hockey and this article is one of the best. Other fans can only dream about reading articles like this about their favorite team. Whenever there's a transition, you wonder if the next coach will be as good as the last one. Will Dean Blais be as good as Gino? Will Dave Hakstol be as good as Dean? Then the transition happens and each time they take the program to new heights. The same could be said with the transition from Virg Foss to Brad. We continually got the best coverage throughout Virg's time. Then Brad takes over and you wonder if we'll continue to enjoy the great articles 12 months each year. Just like with the hockey program, the print coverage continues to be raised to new heights. Thanks Brad.
  6. Star, I usually save my +'s for you or Chewy and today it will have to go to you.
  7. Depends who you ask. His wife gives a completely different answer than he does.
  8. You might be on to something there jodcon. I believe I've seen some posts that indicates that The Sicatoka has some connections or possibly lives in the Fargo area. I think you should get a "post writing expert" to see if there are some similarities in their writings. You never know, he might even be Joe Chapman in disguise.
  9. The only difference Scott is that his incident was alcohol related while yours was an involuntary problem.
  10. Chewey, I agree with most of your posts, but when I think of a new Super Conference, the name Super 8 doesn't seem to fit. If 8 Premier Hotels (W Hotels, Westin's, Marriott's, Hilton's, etc) were going to form a new alliance and they were picking a name, I think Super 8 would be quite a ways down the list of options.
  11. Sorry, but the Sioux Indians aren't part of the consideration anymore. That angle was tossed out the window the day Spirit Lake took a vote. Ever since that vote, we haven't heard a peep about how Indians are discriminated against and about how this whole anti-logo movement is being conducted to help our Native American brothers and sisters. Yes, once the vote was in, Mike Jacobs and Tom Dennis switched their editorials from the discrimination angle to the poor student athlete angle. As long as the belief was out there that the tribes wanted the name and logo gone, Jacobs, Dennis, Bernard Franklin, Robert Kelley and the rest of the anti's had nothing but sympathy for Native American's. Now, they don't want to hear about, and they no longer have any sympathy for, what the Native American's want because it doesn't align with their beliefs as Liberal white men. The Far Lefties want, and need, people to be dependent on them. It's what keeps them going in life. These are the same types of people who put Native American's on the reservations. They knew that that's what was best for them. So now, even though Native American's want their name and heritage remembered through the University of North Dakota, the elites know that getting rid of this disgusting name and logo is what's best for them. And, of course these people should know what's best for Native American's because they are highly educated academics. How could any low-life ever question the wisdom of a Dr. Bernard Franklin or Dr. Robert Kelley? In their eyes the only Native American's that know how "real" Indians should feel are the one's that have spent most of their life getting degree's. Guy's like Leigh Jenoette and Ron His Horse Is Thunder have the wisdom that perks up the ears of Franklin and Kelley. Any other Native American that lives on a reservation and doesn't at least have a B.S. degree, needs someone much smarter to make their decisions. Thankfully they have the smart white guys at the NCAA, the University of Wisconsin, University of Iowa, University of Minnesota and the University of North Dakota to make decisions for them. The name will have to go because so much damage has been done to UND in the eyes of academics. This damage was done by academics, not by the Sioux Nation within the borders of North Dakota. The sad part is that Franklin, Kelley and other elites have also done immeasurable damage to most of the Sioux Indians at Spirit Lake and Standing Rock. The very people they "used" to elevate their anti-nickname policies and then quickly cast them aside like two week old underwear when those people were allowed to voice their own opinions. Since that April 21, 2009 vote, the editorials have switched from the poor discriminated against Native American's to the poor student athletes. Prior to that vote, everyone in support of the name was referred to as a racist. I would submit that these people who cast the Sioux tribes into the ditch after the 2009 votes are the real racists. UND needs the Big Sky. UND needs elite student athletes to compete in the Big Sky. Unless some miracle happens in Indianapolis on July 25th UND needs to retire the name. It will be a sad day for North Dakota Native American's and a sad day for UND alumni. There is a bright spot though. Just think about the 10's (or maybe 100's) of millions of dollars that are going to start rolling into UND for academic programs, the new practice facility, and the new on-campus retractable roof football stadium after the offensive nickname is retired. Not only that but a whole bunch of fans who have been shut out from attending UND athletic events due the the offensive name will now be flooding into the new arena's and stadium's. Attendance is going sky rocket. And if you think this jump in attendance is the result of Montana's & Montana State's rolling into town on a regular bases, you'll only have to read the editorials to realize that it's the result of all these fans who were shut out of the arena's because of the offensive nickname. Nickname supporters, you can now lighten up on your donations because the anti's have all this built up support that's going to roll in come July 25th.
  12. I was informed that it wasn't the Student Senate that voted with Kelley, it was the University Senate which is mostly faculty and some staff. My apologies to the Student Senate members who I might have offended by lumping them in with "Roy Saigo" types. But, my statements above are probably more accurate when applied to faculty & staff except that I'd add "shoulder-length gray hair in a ponytail" to the list.
  13. I saw that was "BREAKING NEWS ALERT". I was totally shocked. Not shocked that the Student Senate voted to offer their support to Kelley, but that it was even news worthy. Sicatoka's news alert that the sun will rise in the east tomorrow was more news worthy. And a few weeks ago the NDSU Student Senate voted to side with their president and raise tuition 8%. Then you talk with some of their students and they didn't know anything about it. You put anything in front of the Student Senate for a vote and you can be assured that the student members with the spiked purple hair, posts stuck through their nose and studs through their lips are going to vote with their liberal presidents.
  14. So, no matter what the vote total would be you have to listen to the minority.....right?
  15. You have to realize that just because you're the one that's being directly affected by the flooding, there are always people much smarter than you who aren't affected by the flooding that know how you should feel about your property being under water. It's similar to the nickname/logo issue. Even though Native American's want to keep the name, there are some very smart academics out there that understand how Native American's "should" feel about their name. Just because 70% of NA's feel honored with UND's use of their name, there are Bernard Franklin and Robert Kelley types who are in a better position to understand what it's like to be an Indian and be discriminated against. Also, just because you and 90% of your family who live in Minot and are affected by the flooding, there are people on this board that are high and dry that have a better understanding of what should be important to you and how you should feel.
  16. Greg Page is also a UND Business School grad, been very involved with the alumni association and has been very generous in giving back to the Business School. http://www.undalumni.org/Page.aspx?pid=1631
  17. It's all been said. Anyone who feels they need more information on this topic needs to get a life.
  18. I'm wondering how you "figure out" ahead of time that the Michigan goalie is going to have a 40 save night? And, if the coaching staff had indeed figured that the goalie was planning on pitching a 40 save shutout, how do you coach around that. I guess they could have had some players take some runs at the goalie and get him knocked out of the game....and, they could have told Frattin to aim his shot 1/2 inch further to the right so it wouldn't graze off the tip of the goalies glove.....and they could have instructed Chay to put his shot a few inches higher.....and the big thing would have been if they would have told Dell that Glendening's shot would get deflected out to Dell's left and Winnett would have an open net so he better just forget about the Glendening shot and move over to the left post so he could stop the Winnett shot. Then Dell would have been pitching a shutout also. That one is probably more Karl Goehring's fault for not figuring that out ahead of time. I guess those are a few things that come to mind that they should have had "figured out", and then we'd all be talking about what a great job the coaches did. If we'd gotten shutout and only had 20 shots on goal and we didn't have Michigan bottled up in their end of the rink most of the night, then I think we could say that the coaches have to get this thing figured out. But we dominated this game, our goalie only gave up one goal, and their goalie pulled a few out of his rear-end. Even our esteemed panel of internet coaches would have had a hard time "figuring out" a better game plan than Hak and company had.

  20. He reminds me more of Matt Henderson. Henderson was from White Bear Lake and had talked to every program in the country about playing hockey.....even SCSU turned him down. He went over to Mariucci to see if the Gophers would let him try out for the team as a walk-on but Woog said no. Then Bill Butters called Blaiser and asked him to give Henderson a chance as a walk-on. Butters thought that Henderson would be able to play in the WCHA. Blaiser gave him a call and brought him in. Henderson made the team and I believe he was the MVP of the '97 National Championship Tournament. Maybe Davidson will be that person this year.
  21. Do I get an assist for setting him up?
  22. I caught this quote from the StarTribune and I haven't quite figured out what Mr. White is saying here: White opened the scoring Friday with his fourth goal of the season at 1:34 of the first period on a long shot that bounced off a defenseman's skate. His second goal, which gave the Gophers their late lead, came off a nice pass from Nate Condon. "He saw me streaking down and slipping behind their last guy," White said. "He saw me going back door and put it right where I could slip it in." Now, depending how you read that, White appears to be bragging about how fast he is compared to the Tech defenseman. Then again, you have to take into account that they were playing those pesky Beavers......although Mr. White didn't mention any Beavers, he was only worried about back-dooring that goalie.
  23. We don't see much of PCM around here anymore but back in the '60s he could really dance. You'll notice him here at the 25 second mark. Another little known fact is that he was one of the first people to do a line dance. You'll see that at about the 1:10 mark. From what I understand, he's been spending the last year or so teaching The Sicatoka some of his moves.

    Tear it down

I bet there are a few people like GF Herald Editor Mike Jacobs, Leigh Jenoette, RHHiT and others whe lobbied quite hard for ROK. Remember when Chris Matthews from MSNBC admitted that he gets a tingly feeling up and down his leg whenever he heard Barack Obama talk? Well, I suspect that Mike Jacobs gets the same feeling when he listens to Kelley.
