I agree CB didn't have a great game, but turnovers are what really killed the Sioux. Mussman's play calling is atrocious though. That's what led to Grossman losing the ball in the 4th. He caught the ball, but the DB knew it was coming so he got there the same time as the ball and just ripped it away and took it. How 'bout some play-action? How 'bout lining Dressler up in the slot? How 'bout some pump fakes off the short routes (esp. the bubble screens) for a big gainer down field? Dressler needs at least 15 offensive touches/game.

It's VERY early, no need to panic. Also, without being able to see the games, it's very hard to come to any real conclusions regarding the boys' play. We knew they were going to lose sometime, but as mentioned previously by others, I expected their losses to be of the 6-5 variety, not shutouts. Lots of penalties that really seemed to take ANY flow out of the game. Ice was said to be very bad, which can certainly lead to very unpredictable results. Hope the youngins learn from this and learn quickly, as the WCHA season is right around the corner, and it will only get more difficult.

Regarding the shot on the wide open net that Miami had change direction for no apparent reason: Tim H. and Hak talked in the pre-game about how bad the ice was. Perhaps this is the explanation.

With all that leverage, power and mass behind it, I'd love to see Joe develop a world class slap shot. Maybe he should use an Al MacInnis heel-curve stick. Having him wind up and let a wicked slapper go from the point would be a sure way to improve the PP%.

I would love to send a letter to the editor of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press, but I'm pretty sure they only take signed letters (or e-mails) and if my wife were to see the letter...well, let's just say going there isn't an option. These type of ill-informed pieces of tripe are just so ^%@%&^& maddening! These jackbags are supposed to be professional journalists, yet they can't be bothered with the facts. The NCAA is not accusing UND of having a logo and nickname that is merely "offensive", but one that is "hostile and abusive". An accusation that is clearly harder to prove and infinitely more ridiculous. The NCAA statement on the issue went out of its way to mention the fact that the 2006 regional will still be held at the unaltered Ralph. Then there's "It doesn't matter if a logo and nickname are offensive to one tribal member or 1 million. The fact is they're offensive and they're wrong." This is just so stupid it's beyond belief! THIS IS NOT FACT IT IS OPINION!!! When one reads something this monumentally stupid, it's difficult to resist the urge to hunt down the writer and beat some ^%*#^% sense into their #@^$%&*% moronic &$#^$& head!!!
