  1. The main reason why this one hurts is because the pure/raw talent advantage was on North Dakota's side. Sadly, when your talent doesn't show up ready to make plays & handle pressure, you lose your advantage
  2. Both need another year to increase their offensive ceiling and round out certain defensive elements.
  3. Dude, there are so many great coaches who aren’t from Section 8. Carle is the best in the country and he’s from f**king Alaska
  4. Correct. Minnesota Duluth showed the blueprint and Wisconsin just did it better (at least arguably better)
  5. Hoping Calgary tells Reschny to go back for one more year and whoever drafts Verhoeff (could be my Blackhawks) tells him to go back for another year
  6. IIRC, you're right
  7. To get there was incredible, considering I felt they were probably a year away going into this season. But not showing up well until late in tonight's Semifinal was embarrassing, sadly
  8. Verhoeff didn't look great at all on the PP. They just put him in the Ovechkin spot expecting him to blast 1 Ts past the goalie which didn't happen much all year. Just vanilla PP design
  9. North Dakota didn't come out ready to handle a fast & physical forecheck, which was very clear. Idk if that's "not showing up", but it's clear they weren't ready to adjust to Wisconsin's style game, nor ready to impose their skill & will on the Badgers
  10. And? Ferschweiler and Carle aren't Section 8 guys, Pecknold & Carvel aren't either
  11. Michigan still 1-9 in Frozen Four games from 2000-present, but they have a chance to change some narratives in an hour
  12. UND looked like a team that didn't expect a hard forecheck. This was classic Minnesota State Hastings Hockey, but he has more talented grinders to work with.
  13. Wiebe and Rickwood looked brutal for a lot of the night too, Wiebe was gassed
  14. Hastings had his guys ready. They skated & forechecked so well. They earned it, hats off to em
  15. Not scoring on the 5v3 was the difference in the game
  16. Helluva career Dylan James and Ben Strinden, sucks it had to end like that. Ugh
  17. Still a chance for a Boston University 2009 National Championship Game esque comeback
  18. Wiebe looks gassed and terrible
  19. More talent everywhere else, but Hastings has his grinders forechecking all out tonight. Give em credit
  20. IIRC, Phil Esposito has said something to the effect of "If you don't score on a 5v3, you lose the game". Would make sense tonight
  21. At least that team tested Hunwick all night and he stole it. This is just lackadaisical, pathetic all around stuff. Especially with a 5v3
  22. 1st year as a head coach, but yes Hastings had his guys ready to fly & forecheck, Jackson did not
  23. No urgency on the PP, no real plan = no goals
  24. Embarrassing to not score a goal this far into the game in front of that many North Dakota fans
