I think I'm most interested to see how quickly CHLers impact NCAA teams in 2025-26: 1. Will the 2026 National Champion have any CHLers on their roster? 2. Will a CHL mercenary like Gavin McKenna lead a team to a National Championship, or will it be someone more like Oliver Tulk (Wisconsin) or Shea Van Olm (Penn State) who stays 2-3 years and eventually leads their team to a ship?

1. Miami will start winning some NCHC games but will still be bad. 2. St Thomas will remain in the CCHA for 2025-26. 3. Tennessee State will be pretty brutal in year 1. Their projected roster from what I gathered is not good at all. They should start going hard after some culture guys in the CHL with some scoring ability (before Dennis Williams and Bowling Green gets them lol) 4. I wonder how many new D1 teams get announced in 2025-26. I will forever want Iowa and anyone in Illinois to go D1. 5. NCAA D1 teams might schedule local ACHA teams for exhibitions to save costs. 6. Yes, I see UNLV announcing within the next year. 7. Lindenwood, as has been rumored, will join the CCHA and start there in 2026-27 after St Thomas leaves.

Ryan Beck (Colorado College) to Lake Superior State

McKenna is a powerplay cheat code though

First big time domino as 2024 Calgary 3rd rounder Henry Mews commits to Michigan, lots of higher end CHL commits to follow soon.
-
Wonder if Lindberg would be better suited going back to junior like Laurila did, play in all situations, big minutes, develop more offensively.
-
Might be good to help keep some US kids home, but the CHL franchises, specifically in the O and some in the Dub, have far greater prestige than any of the USHL franchises. Playing for the London Knights is far more prestigious than playing for the Dubuque Fighting Saints. (Go get Henry Brzustewicz, as I brought up the London Knights)

With Simpson, it comes down to if Jackson thinks he's ready to come in and contribute right away. Can he not be a mess defensively while chipping in a decent amount offensively?

Josh Zakreski might be a dude for UND

Recruits from all over: Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Sweden, Finland, California, North Dakota, Quebec, Pennsylvania, Ontario

Owen Michaels what a beauty

IIRC, Jay Hardwick (UMD guy and Warroad coach) steered Shaugabay in the direction of committing to UMD. I don't remember if the Bulldogs were the first to offer Shauagbay, but they certainly offered before UND. Pilgrim seemed like a fall back option later on.

Maybe $10-20k if that?? No clue what depth NCAA hockey players would get on the market.

Allegedly a lot of "Coach Dad" syndrome from his father meddling too much. You love when parents care, but you hate when they go over the top

Schloss has to toe the line or else he loses his sources or even his job. His hands are tied to some extent because the Grand Forks Herald needs to keep a good relationship with UND Hockey. At the end of the day, Schloss is still just a beat reporter, not an investigative journalist.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe NIL for Canadians would have to be earned through Canadian groups. Of course, that doesn't mean money handshakes and bags of cash aren't being given to NCAA athletes under the table.

Culture/PK/depth scoring. Could see Menghini's numbers bump up as an upperclassmen
-
Found this piece from Jason Feldman back in 2022 when Menghini committed to UMD, and taking a quick look at his EP page, he hadn't played much in the USHL at that point, so you had to do a ton of projection from his Northstar Christian Academy and NAHL days. I've given Berry plenty of !@#$ for things he's done with recruiting, but I'll cut him a little slack here. From Brainerd to Austin to Fargo, Anthony Menghini set to bring his abilities to Minnesota Duluth - The Rink Live | Coverage of youth, junior, high school and college hockey

90%+ of wordmark jerseys in all sports suck. It's what most of the NHL does best, crest on the front
