  1. Just 4 of the 11 commits today are 2009s. The rest are 2008s. Apparently, it's common practice for many New England kids to repeat a grade when move from public/normal private HS to prep schools. So a lot the normal bday 2008s from New England aren't graduating HS until 2027, hence why they were only able to start committing today.
  2. August 1 news is for the future the vast majority of the time. More likely to get finalized roster news on some random day like August 6.
  3. George Komadoski (2008, St Louis, MO, OHL, Flint Firebirds) commits to Notre Dame
  4. Literally all Eastern kids going to Eastern schools with the exception of Notre Dame so far...
  5. New Brunswick kid. A lot of the lower tier Hockey East & mid to lower tier ECAC programs will be buoyed by more Quebec/Maritimes talent going from the Q to the NCAA.
  6. Last year, the trend was most of the August 1 commitments were from east of Lake Michigan. Guessing that trend will continue, although plenty of Western Canadians could commit.
  7. Wonder if Sheahan revamps their system/offensive approach.
  8. Cannon Thibodeau (2009, NTDP, dual Canadian/American citizen) commits to Notre Dame.
  9. Merry Recruiting Christmas & Good Morning to all! Hope to see some bat signals from Chyzyk soon
  10. SGC seems like a Denver lean. Utah kid
  11. Not disagreeing with ya there. Gotta balance your roster with an elite plan every year. There's a reason why Denver has won 5 National Championships since Minnesota won their last.
  12. Assuming DuPont does go NCAA, I'd be quite surprised if he doesn't end up at Denver, North Dakota, or Michigan. Maybe Michigan State, Boston College, Boston University, Penn State make a serious push for him, but I really think it's one of the 3 I mentioned.
  13. If DuPont commits to UND, Chyzyk needs to tweet a picture of this for the bat signal precursor:
  14. Considering that goalies at 17, 18, 19 years old are complete projections & most are wildly guessing on pro potential, most 15 year old goalies are even bigger unknowns. They'd have to put up godly numbers in minor/HS/Prep hockey to really be on the radar of the mainstream
  15. Nope. He's been eligible to commit since last year. He's (essentially) Canadian as he grew up in Saskatchewan & all Canadian 2008s graduate HS in 2026. IIRC, Beuker & his advisor/family wanted to take a measured, patient approach about where to commit for the NCAA.
  16. Of the NTDP 2008s, the only uncommitted players are Wyatt Cullen (likely to commit to Michigan State on August 1), Luke Carrithers (not a great goalie), Brady Knowling (not a great goalie), and Dayne Beuker. Everyone else of that NTDP team has committed now.
  17. 2025 August 1 Recruiting: Top 10 Europeans from Schloss
  18. As Schloss mentioned, his brother Wilson Bjorck is committed to Colorado College. Imagine Viggo, a likely top 10-15 pick, ends up at Colorado College. Would be wild
  19. The great thing now is that there really aren't any excuses to have down recruiting cycles. Talent pool is huge and North Dakota has tons of advantages in Western Canada. There's pressure knowing you have to hit home runs in recruiting every year, but you love having that high standard. New staff is poised to have a big August 1 cycle.
  20. Letang wasn't anywhere close to the progression point of becoming Letang when he was 16. DuPont's floor is Letang, his ceiling is just below Makar IMHO.
  21. Tyler Martyniuk (2008) commits to Michigan State. Solid defensive defenseman who should be a 3-4 year guy for State.
  22. 2025 August 1 Recruiting: Top 20 Canadians from Schloss
  23. This should be 80% of the commits for the average cycle, would like to see Chyzyk & Jackson break through in Ontario, get some solid players from Illinois, California, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, New Jersey when possible. I think New Englanders will be extremely hard to ever get as first time recruits since their cultural ties are to the Hockey East programs for the most part.
  24. There aren't enough further right conservatives who care about hockey to really push for it. And it would get thrown out in court anyway IMHO. More high end Canadians (from the CHL) in the NCAA is better for the sport. Too many mediocre NAHL guys littered throughout the NCAA, especially in the CCHA & Atlantic, it's very underwhelming.
  25. Really interested to see which Canadian 2009s commit on August 1. Brock Cripps (WHL, Prince Albert Raiders) has always been intriguing to me, supposed to be pretty high end.
