  1. It basically means your Cody Croal types are only 3 year contributors if not only 3 year players. That's the problem. Also, university is 4 years, we should just keep the eligibility rules as is, 5 years of eligibility seems so random & weird, Rules attempted at being rammed through because some basketball & football coaches complained., sad
  2. Keep the eligibility rules as is for hockey. The 5 in 5 is being rammed through for football/basketball purposes and hockey would be negatively altered if this goes through & applied to it
  3. Would hope this doesn't go through, at least for hockey. Hockey's developmental structure is through junior, not HS, in 98% of the world & 90% of North America. Would hate to limit hockey careers by putting a time clock on eligibility
  4. Canadian universities are the equivalent. "Colleges" in Canada are community colleges or prep high schools.
  5. Some will agree, some will disagree, but I'm hoping the NCAA's proposed eligibility changes either don't go through or men's hockey gets an exception to remain as is. The junior hockey development structure (& thus NCAA Hockey structure) would be knocked off its axis if you forced the NCAA eligibility clock to start at age 19. You'd limit careers quite a bit IMHO
  6. Portal: Potter to Michigan State or Burnevik to Minnesota Major Junior: Barabanov to UMass
  7. Several guys might wait until after the Draft
  8. Wonder if this will end up being a Minnesota, North Dakota, Michigan recruiting battle
  9. Hometown listed as Victoria BC on the Dub website
  10. Quebec born, raised and played all of his minor hockey in Western Canada
  11. Would like to be more than just Western Canadians and Minnesotans/North Dakotans. Would like to dip into the Ontario, Illinois, & California pool. Michigan, New England, Quebec/Maritimes if you can get them as well
  12. Exhibit A being Trevor Connelly who had a statline of 23 GP, 13 PTS and is now over a point per game in the A for Henderson. Providence College just doesn't like unleashing offensive skill
  13. Gavin Hodnett (2006, Edmonton Oil Kings) commits to Nebraska Omaha. Nice addition for the Mavericks
  14. Would like to start getting a few high end OHLers at North Dakota
  15. Wisconsin is much more likely to be a consistent National Championship contender than Cornell, plus you're able to get some NIL money at Wisconsin that you wouldn't be able to at Cornell. Makes sense to me
  16. They obviously can, most of them who are going to be in the NCAA for the next year just have decided to not officially commit during the junior season because they fear the backlash from their junior team. It's such a new thing for CHLers to go NCAA, so CHL organizations are still bitter/pissed when guys are now moving up a level to the NCAA
  17. To clarify, Hudson Malinoski is on campus this weekend, but also has B1G interest per Schloss' latest article
  18. Things eventually came to fruition last year. Important to not forget that Jackson has alluded to striking out on certain guys that they pursued (would assume this would include Martone, as well as guys like Kindel, Bear, Cootes, & Lakovic who signed pro; potentially McQueen who committed to Providence College late) before finding others to build the 2025-26 Team. Trusting that Chyzyk/Jackson have had Plan A, B, C, D, & E ready for 3+ months for the 2026 Offseason
  19. Jackson Blake 2 assists last night in Carolina's 2-0 Game 1 win over Ottawa
  20. Loranger to UConn
  21. Would be nice if it is Loranger, Alfano, Malinoski, or Poirier (assuming he's in the portal)
  22. Some bullet point thoughts that Schloss talked about on the pod with Feldy: - End of season Frozen Four discussion, North Dakota didn't handle Wisconsin's forecheck well, didn't get their 1st goal soon enough to seriously comeback. Returning players are super motivated to get back to the Frozen Four in 2027 and finish the job. - Transfer Portal talk, mildly surprising but also not that surprising to see Littler, Klee, & Strathmann in the portal. Lindberg, Boser, & Magnussen solid older depth additions. UND Coaching Staff isn't worried to lose guys in portal, they're more than able to find guys to fill voids - 2026-27 Roster looks to be pretty deep, some good players will be healthy scratches. Cooper Simpson should be able to contribute right away - Prospective Recruits: Carels (left shot) makes most sense as a defenseman recruit, but Rudolph & DuPont would be excellent additions - Denver and Nebraska Omaha have silent commits in the Dub, North Dakota does not yet, but should be able to get official commitments once the Dub season is over
  23. New UND Hockey Podcast with Schloss & Feldy just dropped, will listen to it now & give my thoughts after I'm done at the gym.
