  1. Some GPLers were speculating (or have inside info) that Fitzhenry & Schneider's advisors have told them to delay committing to wait and see what the landscape will look like. Would assume this means regarding potential NIL opportunities as well as the direction of Minnesota's program, assuming they're pretty interested in the Gophers
  2. 1-1 after 1. Fighting Irish outplaying the Spartans right now
  3. 80s night. Honoring their 1986 National Championship team, per Ben Holden on the B1G broadcast
  4. 1-1 tie. Notre Dame nice goal to even it up
  5. 1-0 State, Strbak goal to open up the night
  6. I would guess Chyzyk/Jackson have made contact, but there's no indication that North Dakota is or isn't one of the favorites for Fitzhenry. All insinuations have been that the recruiting strategy would be 60% CHL (most of which would be in the Dub due to Western Canada proximity and historical ties to the program, and 40% US (most of which would be Minnesota, North Dakota/Upper Midwest). A large majority of the current commits are from the States, although many of them committed before the rules change in November 2024.
  7. Do they just not have a huge traveling hockey fanbase? What's the issue there?
  8. Tonight's WHL Top Prospects Game:
  9. Valente had a very good 18 year old season of junior in the J20, just got buried a bit at Providence, good to see Ferschweiler turn him into a dude though
  10. Cannot wait for the day where CHLers going to the NCAA is so normal that major junior players don't even think about moving up to the NCAA when they're ready, they just do it
  11. Burnevik became that guy and Ingram hasn't progressed
  12. Would take the Ruck Twins at North Dakota for 2026-27 or 2027-28. They're tearing up the Dub for Medicine Hat
  13. North Dakota should never be done reaping the rewards. I expect North Dakota, Denver, & Michigan to be the 3 top programs recruiting the Dub/Western Canada, with others like Michigan State, Boston University, Boston College, & Penn State in the mix if they so choose. North Dakota and Denver have the historical and geographic advantage. With tons of program alums from Western Canada (as we see on the UND staff), both the Pioneers and Fighting Hawks have tons and tons of minor/junior hockey connections throughout the western provinces, setting both up for major recruiting success.
  14. Their problem is that they don't recruit the CHL at all. Would be very surprised if Steve Miller and/or Ben Gordon are up in Moose Jaw, Brandon, Prince Albert to watch Dub games or in London, Kitchener, Guelph to watch O games. There was zero reason to add Finn McLaughlin over the summer when you could have added a more productive defenseman out of the Dub for example. Doesn't take NIL money to add quality Tier 2 level players, you just have to go out there and recruit instead of falling back on convenience bias and/or insular tribalism.
  15. Just crazy how many Goofers supporters are still making excuses for Minnesota's horrific season. Considering how North Dakota had to completely retool/rebuild the roster in the offseason, there is little excuse for Motzko not using the portal & not making CHL additions.
  16. Just watching all of the Through These Doors episodes, it's clear that Jackson is an elite motivator. Had a lot of doubts when the hire was made, if he would be able to bring fresh energy instead of the staleness throughout the program, but I'm glad to have been wrong.
  17. Hope he's back for a sophomore season. Could do wonders for his development as it did for Werenski, McAvoy, Fox, Makar, Hughes, Sanderson, Faber, etc.
  18. Interested to see what he looks like next year, still just in his 17 year old season. Feel that someone (Arizona State, Colorado College) will try to get him earlier than the blue bloods
  19. AHAHAHAHA YESSSSS WHAT A COMEBACK!!!
  20. Gotta win in OT instead of the pathetic OT showings @ Colorado College and Minnesota Duluth
  21. Notre Dame 3 Minnesota 2, Gophers choke late, Irish get the conference dub in regulation
  22. Pretty hilarious hearing Heinert referring to Emery as a Compton California native, considering he's never lived there. He's a Surrey BC native (dual citizen), who used his dad's hometown to loophole into the NTDP.
  23. Really impressed with Tyler Young. Since he came into the lineup, he's given it his all every shift.
  24. Whew
