Clarke Caswell (2024 Seattle 5th rounder, unsigned, WHL, Swift Current Broncos, Brandon, MB native) would be someone North Dakota should at least call to see if he's interested in playing in the NCAA given the rule changes. Of course becomes moot if he signs with Seattle.

Under the table payments probably still happen too. Not sure how often it would happen in hockey but it most certainly is still the case in football

Boston University should be good again next year, especially with Yegorov, Hutson, & Eiserman presumably back & Boisvert coming in. Some solid recruits as well, plus the likely possibility of them adding CHLers too. Michigan on paper looks pretty bad right now, but they're recruiting several high end CHLers to come in for 2025-26. If they can get any or a few of Gavin McKenna, Porter Martone, Ryan Roobroeck, Jack Ivankovic, Henry Mews, Jake O'Brien, as well as other high end Dub & Q guys, they're going to win games on pure talent. Their issue comes down to reliable goaltending & depth.

Is Komzak really going to stay around to be the 7th, 8th, or even 9th defenseman?

Linked to Gibson Homer, nothing since one way or another. Are the coaches debating whether or not to bring Heil in or send him back to junior for another year? Homer would be a nice addition. I guess we have to wait and see about if Hedquist is back, but as time goes on, I think he's staying.

Wouldn't think so at least right now. Motzko will let LDP and Airey battle for the starter's job. If Airey loses it and barely plays, he'll transfer in 2026.

Watched the interview Jackson did with Taylor Budge, honestly more excited about him now, just a different voice gives me some optimism. Berry had gotten quite stale so this is nice at least for now.

Schloss was told by several scouts that Simpson needs a full year of junior before coming in. Schultz should be mostly ready.

I'd be very surprised if both O'Neill and Lindberg come in for 2025-26. I actually think both need to go back to junior for another year before coming to UND

In terms of Dub guys, here are the high end draft eligibles who should be serious UND targets: Jackson Smith (LHD) Roger McQueen (C) Carter Bear (C/LW, likely out 1st half of 2025-26 season due to injury) Ben Kindel (RW) Cole Reschny (LW) Cameron Schmidt (RW) Lynden Lakovic (LW) Blake Fiddler (RHD) Josh Ravensbergen (G) Braeden Cootes (C) Nathan Behm (C/W) Everyone else in terms of the WHL draft eligibles are tiers below those I mentioned IMHO. Of course, you'd love to get high end guys from the O and the Q, but UND just doesn't get Ontario or Quebec/Maritimes kids very often and doesn't recruit those provinces/areas as much.

Even with a poor O Playoffs right now, Misa has a legit shot to go straight from junior to the NHL (of course depends on who drafts him). A team like the Boston Bruins, who strongly supports NCAA route development, might steer him in the direction of 1 year in the NCAA for better development & steer him to Boston University or Boston College for ease of access. Like I've mentioned before, I expect Michigan to make a serious push for several CHLers, Misa probably included. Michigan has opened up a ton of spots and still has plenty of space after Perron committed there, they aren't slated to bring in too many freshmen right now and can defer some of their guys a year by sending em back to junior.
