NTDP Announces 2025-26 U.S. National Under-17 Team Names to know for August 1 2025 Recruiting Season

“The Buzz is Loud, and It’s Real”: Gavin McKenna Among Names Possibly Playing In The NCAA Next Season North Dakota and Michigan listed as frontrunners for Gavin McKenna, the likely 2026 NHL Draft 1st Overall Pick.

Schloss insinuated that Michigan has multiple silent commits out of the O that they're sitting on until the summer. Wonder if they do anything more in the portal

Southern Minnesota, Sherburn to be specific. Small farm town right off I-90. I love seeing hockey players from rural areas in the States make it big, considering that's extremely rare in USA Hockey history. Guys like Musser, Hobie Hedquist, Brody Lamb & Jaxon Nelson all from the sticks, in what you wouldn't consider traditional "hockey country" Minnesota.

Looks like Isaac Howard could return for his senior year at Michigan State
-
Would expect him back at a Minnesota school, whether that be in the NCHC or CCHA.
-
Seravalli would know. He's from Philadelphia, McLaughlin is from the Philadelphia suburbs & is a Flyers prospect. Flyers Team President Keith Jones (went to Western Michigan and played with Ferschweiler for a year or two at WMU) is probably steering OMac to the Broncos.

Add Gibson Homer to the goalie list! -
That's a very solid get for Michigan Tech. Abraham was one of the better 2004s in the States coming out of minor hockey and has been very good in the O for Windsor.
-
Brendan McMorrow is the only realistic one. Would love to get Nick Bogas but he's 100% committed to State, his dad played for the Spartans back in the day.
-
Josh Zakreski GWG late in Game 7 to lead Portland past Prince George in the first round of the Dub Playoffs!!
-
"CHLer" is extremely broad. Major difference between a high end Dub guy like Ben Kindel versus a middle tier Dub guy like Eric Jamieson (Denver commit). A middle tier guy is just fine. A high end one is preferable.

Ugh, I wanted the Goofers recruiting woes to continue

I think they'll bring in Schultz. Simpson is raw but has the offensive ceiling. O'Neill is polished in ways that Simpson isn't, but if you want his offensive ceiling to grow, you send him back to junior for another year. Some tough decisions for Jackson and the staff. -

Schloss said last month they're working on finalizing a commitment from a middle tier OHLer. Really interested to see who it is since I follow the O fairly closely & then do a further deep dive -
Ben Robertson (Cornell) in the portal

Wonder who they got on their schedule, hopefully they got at least 1 blueblood on there
-
One of the Predators rinks, maybe their practice rink in the suburbs
-
Zellers and Simpson on the same PP for a year or two will be deadly
-
Clarke Caswell (2024 Seattle 5th rounder, unsigned, WHL, Swift Current Broncos, Brandon, MB native) would be someone North Dakota should at least call to see if he's interested in playing in the NCAA given the rule changes. Of course becomes moot if he signs with Seattle.

Under the table payments probably still happen too. Not sure how often it would happen in hockey but it most certainly is still the case in football

Confirmed per Schloss

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Boston University should be good again next year, especially with Yegorov, Hutson, & Eiserman presumably back & Boisvert coming in. Some solid recruits as well, plus the likely possibility of them adding CHLers too. Michigan on paper looks pretty bad right now, but they're recruiting several high end CHLers to come in for 2025-26. If they can get any or a few of Gavin McKenna, Porter Martone, Ryan Roobroeck, Jack Ivankovic, Henry Mews, Jake O'Brien, as well as other high end Dub & Q guys, they're going to win games on pure talent. Their issue comes down to reliable goaltending & depth.
