Obviously TCU's defense isn't as good as Stony Brook's.

I know it's really short notice but would anyone be interested in doing a Sioux Sports group in Yahoo's College Football Pick'Em? I could hurry and set one up. Has anyone done this in the past? I vaguely remember it being brought up a few times. http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/college

Hopefully he isn't so sad that he cries. His mascara will run. Don't want to ruin that eyeliner!

The title of the thread is "what do you think of the logo now??" And you're complaining about people stating what they think about the logo now.

The football team out drew the women's hockey team. They better hang a banner for that in the Al.- 2,150 replies

Idk. Maybe their goal is to offer free admission for a season or two to increase the fan base then go back to charging $5-7. Maybe their goal is to get the attendance numbers above Duluth's and closer to Minnesota's and Wisconsin's to help in the recruiting battles. I personally would charge $7 adult, $5 teens, 12-under free. Offer $3 tickets to groups of 15+ and market it towards high school teams, community groups, etc.- 2,150 replies

Men's and women's S&D are obvious choices to cut. They are associate members of the WAC, produce no revenue, and eventually the Hyslop pool is going to need to be replaced. There has been some small talk of building a new pool/aquatics center attached to the Wellness Center. But there has never been much support for increasing student fees to pay for it. And there are plenty of other facility needs that would take priority when trying to fundraise that type of money. And once phase two of the HPC gets built, S&D will be the only sport still based out of the Hyslop. Softball also seems like an obvious choice. Hardly any fan support. No history of success. And they currently play in a rented facility that is a glorified beer league field. Softball just became a Big Sky sponsored sport but is not required. Soccer is very similar to softball. Hardly any fan support. No history of success. To call the grass in front of the bookstore a DI soccer facility is a joke. And it is currently ran out of the Betty. So eliminating it would open up a bit more space in the building for the basketball and volleyball programs. It is a Big Sky sponsored sport but also not required. As far as women's hockey goes, I want to see that sport kept. From an existing facilities, recruiting, fan interest, and potential to compete nationally standpoint it is a sport that makes sense at UND. Besides men's hockey and FCS football, this is the only other sport that UND has an opportunity to hang a national championship banner. Obviously the budget needs to be looked at for any potential savings (as do all other sports). The first thing I would tell the coaches is to quit trying to turn the team into a European All Star squad. But it is a sport that makes sense at this school. On a side note, I feel that volleyball could grow into a consistent top 15-25 ranked program in the nation. But it will still never win a national championship.

To say that one has fans and the other doesn't is false. From a football standpoint getting 8-9,000 fans at home games is nothing to brag about. Pretty sad actually. Women's hockey draws virtually the same as men's basketball, women's basketball, and the volleyball programs. To say that one has huge national exposure potential and one does not is also false. NEITHER program has huge national exposure potential.- 2,150 replies

Why is women's hockey expected to draw 11,000+? The football team doesn't even draw that. The basketball teams draw virtually the same size crowds as women's hockey.- 2,150 replies

The only way I'd be uninformed was if you were actually providing facts and real information.

There are plenty of UND fans that find it annoying too.

Big Sky Conference to join Western Officiating Consortium Hopefully this will increase the quality and consistency of officiating that we see across the conference.
