I think everyone loves Studs' grit and leadership. He's playing hurt a lot of the time and I'm sure his teammates appreciate that. He's a great Senior. But he does not throw a great long ball. Is it possible the O coordinator knows that and hasn't "opened up the offense" especially when the HC wants a ground control, manage the clock type of O that can go on long drives (not quick hitters) and give his vaunted D a rest. Not defending the whole predictability of the O, but I bet when Z or another QB with long ball capabilities takes over, the play book will reveal it and it opens up the running game. Why not stack the box when you know the QB isn't a bomber? Next year McKinney, Greibel, Izzy could be forces. Would love to see what Cloyd do and really no excuse for not using him more now though he is not blessed with blazing speed.

It's been noted, but Bud Grant, Tom Landry were old school and stoic; I guess it just depends on what you're looking for.

Do you see Belichick as fiery? I think he looks stoic. A story: He's coaching the Pro Bowl. Opening KO and Tony Gonzalez is on the KO return team. It's the Pro Bowl so Tony isn't really into it and misses a block. His guy makes the tackle. He gets to the sideline and passes Belichick who says, "Nice F'ing block." He can't believe it. It's the Pro Bowl. C'mon, gimme a break. He's pis#ed. Next KO and he just nails his guy; flattens him. Heads to the sideline right to Belichick and he gets nothing. He's almost out of earshot and hears, "Nice block." That's not fiery coaching, but it's highly effective coaching.

He also said UND should have all 3 of its RB's on the field at the same time. Get your best players on the field!

I still feel the Heidelbaugh decision is more on Bubba than Rudy. The HC may delegate positional depth charts, but he has veto power especially at QB. I don't think any HC is giving someone else the power to choose the starting QB and I don't think Bubba can avoid the blame on this one. I won't mind seeing Rudy go, but yesterday near the goal line, he made two calls for runs. On the one JJ got the ball, but the NG beat his man and nailed him. Literally, the rest of the blocks were made and if that one is too, JJ is in. On the other, Geaux pointed it out, that if Santiago shifts to his right, he has a TD. So we settle for 3 but could have had 6 if there was better execution. I didn't hear anyone complain about the call on Studs' INT in the end zone. It was a good call; he mixed up the plays and I think Studs, as he did all game, was behind the WR. That said, the bigger issue for me is, if the QB sees 9-10 in the box, let the QB audible out of it. Shift players around so the D has to spread. That's on Rudy.

YES, yes, a thousand times YES!!

PSU D isn't that good either. Studs was short on many passes (as Geaux noted) and if we hit on those, it's even more of a blowout.
