If you're a RB recruit and you see Santiago, Olivera and Smith do what they can do, I assume you think "I'm going to another school" or "I can try to play WR too."

Smith is the Jim Kiick of the group. Remember him? Of all the recruits we had coming in, Smith was the one I was most impressed with when watching the HUDL videos. Looked good today.

It's my fault. I was at the game. Over the last few years, I think I've seen only 2 W's. Luckily I only go to a couple a year. One was last year v Mankato (I think) and when we were down a goal with a minute and a half in the game I left. My buddy and I get to the hallway, see the tying goal scored on TV, thought about heading back in for OT, but decide to go to Red Pepper instead and when we get there, we see the winning goal scored. I'm a jinx.

I don't agree wholly with RD17 but I found his thoughts interesting and he put out some things I didn't know about Bubba. Full disclosure, I was one who wanted to rid the hockey team of Hak. Not saying get rid of Bubba, but the points made are significant. I like to be a loyal fan, but honestly I can't take the cool-aid some times and I think RD17 was a refreshing twist to that.

He CAN improve, but some QB's never get past that first target. IF he doesn't he is not the guy. Of course, the receivers can as well. I'm not sure I agree with the Idaho State victory if he's still in it. He was the QB during the 2nd half of the Drake game and the loss after and I don't mean SU.

Going forward, I don't feel Studsrud is the playoff level QB we need. He still has a high school QB mentality of locking on his primary target and there are NO progressions. Even our CB's and Safety's would figure that out. Once we get that, the young DBacks will mature and we will be in the playoffs for a long time. Though lets not forget every great team needs the OL hogs too.

This is a good point though as to what Bubba Ball is-run the ball on O and stop the run on D, but in today's game, the rest of the league is a pass first O and stopping the run is great but if you can't stop the pass EVER, what difference does it make to stop run? As for QB, I read Tom Miller's article today and he loves Studsrud to the point of making a note of his absence in the last two weeks as though that's why we lost. In my mind, he may be the "best fit" for this O, but he is still not a great college QB and I'd love to see what Mollberg can do. I think some of it does come down to "going with the guy you recruited" as an affirmation of your program building skills. GIVE MOLLBERG A CHANCE!

Forgive my lack of reading comprehension. Couple of beers will do that. Camy and Reed are JR's? I'm constantly looking to the future which I think can be bright. Not quitting on the present, but those last two games sucked some hope out of me.

Not sure if this is the place for this question, but who were the Redshirts from this year's class? I know they can still be pulled ala Studsrud last year, but I doubt there's more to come this year.
