Pa-leese! I guess the 87-0 whitewash Pittsburgh St put on Panhandle St or South Dakota rolling Crookston 66-6 makes them MUCH better than UND because we only had a 4 point win. How does "Strength of Schedule" figure into the REAL ranking again?

I think they could play with almost any Gateway school and give them a game. Anyone who didn't see that game will assume UNI lost to a bunch of under-sized, inferior athletes. That was not the case. Those boys could do battle with the great majority of 1-AA."

I'm the first to admit that I am not as plugged in as many on this board, but up to this point of the thread nobody has even mentioned Walski. I'm not a particular Walski fan nor do I know much about him other than this is his second year with the team, so wouldn't that at least cause him to get a little more chatter on this board or maybe is that the problem, he has a year under his belt and he isn't up to the #2 spot. I just find it weird that everybody is simply handing the backup role to the newcomer Grieco even even though dedicated SS.com posters even have trouble finding info on? Just curious.

By the title of this thread I though John Hoff was writing again.

The student section started standing for whatever reason in the mid 90s in the old REA. It wasn't that big a deal but the radio and TV people would comment time to time that it made it difficult to see when the play was along the near boards. It continued after the move to the new REA but now they were obstructing the view of the folks that paid top $$$$$ for their suites located at the top of the student section. The last few years the REA staff and athletic department have been working on ways to try to make everyone happy, everyone but the students. The students don't stand anymore, just when the staff lets them. The next round of this will be fought in the next month or so is my guess as my ticket renewal is due by 1 Jun. The student section and the environment of the REA will be an education in itself.

Oh my freakin' god! Armed Forces TV is going to carry the semifinal games too! Tape delayed though. Now I'm debating if I am gonna follow the game here on the thread or wait and watch. I know there are at least 2 other SS.com posters here in the AOR so at 1100 hrs (Qatar time) on Friday the games will be shown on AFN Sports with the Wisc/Maine game immediately afterwards. I'm thinking of sliding off to the conference room and watch it on the projection system, 84+ inches with surround sound! When we advance to the championship, that game will be live at 0200 on Sunday morning. I also found out when I was talking to my wife that her parents and brother are going to Milwaukee, why do all the good things happen when I am over here? Since last Saturday night I too have been very anxious for the games to begin. I have been surfing only about 5 or 6 websites looking for college hockey stories and such. What's up with GPL, I still get that error screen when I try to get in? For all you going to Milwaukee, enjoy and have fun and be safe in your travels. For all you staying home and watching the games, post OFTEN, for some of us it is the ONLY way we can "see" the Sioux play, although this time we will have at least tape delay.

Is this day not the greatest day of the year for a college hockey fan? Yes, there are bigger games, conference rivalries and it is only a stepping stone to the biggest prize, but 6 televised games between 12 top shelf D1 mens hockey teams. I know if I was at home, what I would have been doing all day and where I would be right now.
