  1. http://www.ralphengelstadarena.com/new2/pd...pact_Report.pdf An interesting read off www.theralph.com
  2. http://www.fightingsioux.com/info/ticket/hockey.asp This is the link to the UND Athletic Dept. Just keep scrolling and you will see the fees to be a ticket holder, what it entitles you to, and where you can get seats. And I am almost the personification of what you mentioned, corner, top 15 rows, I make a little more than what you mention and I am damn glad to just be in the building! I asked my wife if we wanted to pony up another $440 a year some that when some become available, we could move down to the lower bowl at the ends (Varsity Club). We have two boys in youth hockey, one on a traveling team, takes a lot of time and we will probably miss some Sioux games. We decided to keep our current seats until our winter schedule stabilizes in say... 10-12 years! then, our boys tell us that we will be moving to the players parents section.
  3. You have to make a minimum donation fo $110 per year to the Fighting Sioux Club in order to keep your current seat or or apply for a new one. Different levels of giving are Diamond Club $11,000+ Emerald Club $5,500+ Directors Club $2,750+ Coaches Club $1,100+ Captains Club $660+ Varsity Club $330+ Century Club $110+. The more you give, the closer to the ice and the more preferable your seats are. At $1,100 and above, your start to get perks like reserved parking, socials and such. If you decide not to donate, you can watch the games on TV.
  4. Supply and demand. Empty seats in their arena is a "luxury
  5. What makes me interested in this series is that maybe this might wake up the eastern media that hockey exsists outside of New England (I can wish can't I?) Then I wanted to see the schedule outside of those 3 listed that were going to be on CSTV to make sure the WCHA gets some legit matchups. WCHA-7 games: 3 against CCHA, 3 against Hockey East, 1 against ECAC. How about any WCHA team vs CHA or Alantic Hockey? Looks like the upper echelon conferences will duke it out and split the points up and the lesser conferences will will rack up points in marqee matchups like Air Force (CHA) vs. Sacred Heart (AHA). Maybe it will be better in coming years when some games could be set up just for a Commissoner's Cup matchup. For those that care, here's the whole schedule: OCTOBER Saturday, October 23 Ferris State (CCHA) at Bemidji State (CHA) Rensselaer (ECACHL) at Army (AHA) Holy Cross (AHA) at Alabama-Huntsville (CHA) Wayne State (CHA) at Merrimack (HEA) Northeastern (HEA) at Colgate (ECACHL) Friday, October 29 Miami (CCHA) at St. Lawrence (ECACHL) North Dakota (WCHA) at Boston College (HEA) - CSTV NOVEMBER Thursday,November 4 Northern Michigan (CCHA) at Michigan Tech (WCHA) Friday, November 12 UConn (AHA) at Ferris State (CCHA) Saturday, November 20 Brown (ECACHL) at Minnesota-Duluth (WCHA) Friday, November 26 Air Force (CHA) vs. Sacred Heart (AHA)* Saturday, November 27 Massachusetts (HEA) at Denver (WCHA) DECEMBER Saturday, December 11 Maine (HEA) at Harvard (ECACHL) Sunday, December 12 Robert Morris (CHA) at Quinnipiac (AHA) Thursday, December 30 Ohio State (CCHA) v. Colorado College (WCHA)** JANUARY Sunday, January 2 Union (ECACHL) at UConn (AHA) Monday, January 3 Minnesota (WCHA) at Boston University (HEA) - CSTV Saturday, January 8 Canisius (AHA) at Niagara (CHA) Wednesday, January 12 New Hampshire (HEA) vs. Dartmouth (ECACHL)*** Friday, January 21 Wisconsin (WCHA) at Notre Dame (CCHA) - CSTV Saturday, January 29 Wayne State (CHA) at Nebraska-Omaha (CCHA) * At Houston Fieldhouse in Troy, NY ** At Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH *** At Verizion Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH
  6. Saw this on USCHO earlier, I'm mildly interested. What do you all think? http://www.uscho.com/news/2004/10/18_008845.php
  7. Briggs was the defensive player of the week? I have a 9 year old with a better save percentage!
  8. dagies, I'm not sniping at you, but your post hits on a lot of the things I have seen the last couple of days by various posters in various threads. Just under 3 months ago this entire board was up in arms about the hiring of Hakstol, recruiting was going to be tough, tough schedule coming up, players jumping to the pro's, Hakstol had maybe a year to produce - probably had to win the NC this year or he'd be gone and Steve Johnson would probably take over. Here we are today, an exhibition butt kickin', 2 quality wins in a tough barn and a #1 ranking in a poll and now Hakstol is looking pretty good. I want to go on record that I wanted Sandelin, but lurking here, I read what people in and out of the know had to say and I warmed up to the choice of Hakstol, after all, he was Blais' choice, and I hoped for the best. I'm hoping that this is just the begining of many banners to come, just had to comment on how much a fan really knows.
  9. Final price - $243.50! Section 315, Row I! That's even higher up than I am! Maybe I should auction off mine?
  10. In the 89 and 2000 references to freezing half to death, did Dominos still deliver to the students in line? in 87 I saw Dominos deliver a couple of different games. Since we have no parking lot to tailgate in, this could be the "new" tailgate for hockey! Get some local establishments to sponsor it, get the radio stations to do remotes, give away some prizes, through up a tent to warm up and maybe a pizza place could sell some product. You can bet at -20 below we'd make Sportcenter! Someone earlier said that in the day the line was as much fun as the game, why not run with it! REA might make a buck and maybe they will cave on something! Think about it, could be huge!
  11. Complain yes, but there is a fine line between complaining and whining. I understand I speak from a position of the "haves" because I have my season tickets and am in. But I have been on the out as I mentioned earlier. I have agreed that the students got shafted in the ticket distribution. As I said, I think it should be first come, first served AND it should be FREE, the students get gouged huge "activity fees" so why charge. Although the fee I'm sure keeps the fairest of fairweather fans away, but if it was free, that fairweather fan could instantly become a "diehard" if they were able to experience a game. The student government got flamed. I do not know them, but I remember reading in the Heraldo that only about 1,000 to 1,100 students voted in the last election. My understanding of the premise of student government is to represent their constituents (student body) so that they get that consideration in matters like this. I've been told that if you didn't vote, you have lost your right to complain. Now I don't know everybody's voting history here, but with less than 10% voting last year, I doubt everybody that is upset cast a ballot. One quote was to the effect of we don't want more seat, we want better seats. Great, I want better seats too. I sat in the lower bowl last year for the Subway Classic for the Brown/Findlay game, it was like being in a different arena. Complaining is good IF you actually get up and get 'er done, without action you are whining. Vote, attend student government sessions, volunteer and get involved. And another thing to do is when the students that give the student section a bad name at the REA when they violate the rules, right or wrong, they are the current standards of conduct, put them in check.
