  1. Seriously.....WTF on the no goal.....You have got to be fricken kidding me......INEXCUSABLE Three Stars of the Night 1. Dell 2. Levine 3. Frattin Unless Kristo gets another goal on the empty net here.....
  2. This is a good thing.....Hot goaltender....its going to take a dirty goal to get one by this guy.....we need some dirty ones.
  3. Agreed with all points.....you basically wrote what I was going to write.....wow.... On the point others made about the local media building up Robert Morris: Yesterday afternoon there were 1,000 tickets available for the hockey game. I think the local media was trying to do whatever necessary to try and get some butts in the seats. Whether it be through talking about that defenseman with over 100 career points, or building up the rivalry between the two head coaches who are friends. The sioux kind of forgot to play the last half of the second period (after the RMU timeout) and they still couldn't get a puck in the net. Robert Morris had the deer in the headlights look for most of the game. Part of that has to do with walking and playing in a place like the Ralph.
  4. Hey, two consecutive shutouts by our guy Dell. Anybody want to be that guy that does his scoreless minutes streak?
  5. 8-0 still. Close this one out with a clean slate, and think about tomorrow night. 1 down 5 to go.
  6. Two great saves on the breakaway by Dell. And then a glove save to boot. Goaltending wins championships.
  7. Good overall period for the sioux. I thought they were a bit sloppy in their own end, but Dell yet again made some nice saves to keep a clean slate. Roll four the rest of the way, and get a win.
  8. Dell needs to start on Friday night and the team can evaluate Saturday after that. Keep getting him the game reps he needs to get him ready for the gopher series, but don't over do it with his work load by any means. I think Hakstol has kind of hinted that Eids will get a start with his mentioning of how hard Brad has worked in practice (In coach speak, thats giving us all a reason for him to be in the net on Saturday). I would like to see Maris in the net sometime before his time is done at UND. I know he's not an all world goaltender, but even Ryan Sofie found a way to get a couple periods under his belt during his time in Grand forks. I was hoping they'd put him in against the U-18 team, but no way could they take Eids out of that one.
  9. Quote of the year. 100% agree.
  10. I'm anxious to see what the lines will be for this game minus of course the Pony Express. Of course both Bruno and Davidson will be in the lineup, and Brad said this week that both Marto and Gleason would both play defense against Duluth...... Here is my guess: Trupp-Malone-Frattin Kristo-Knight-Rowney Davidson-Lamoureax-Rodwell Bruno-Cichy-Simpson Blood-Genoway LaPoint-Marto McWilliam-Gleason I could see the Sioux going with an 11 forwards 7 defensemen lineup too. But Simpson has played forward before, and I'm not sure who else you put up there to fill a line with Marto and Gleason back on D.
  11. Had an inkling that Nelson would make the squad. Great on the draws and creative with the puck. Doesn't have to be overly physical because of the international game. Forbort is not a surprise at all. I think he'll be in the National Hockey League in T-minus three years.
  12. Woo hoo! Picked them all three right! My most underrated player award goes to Mario Lamoureax. The guy has been a rock in the lineup night in and night out. Even though he had a bit of a scoring slump the guy does all the little things right that helps the team win.
  13. With the importance of faceoffs, and the puck possession games a lot of the international teams play I wouldn't be surprised at all if Nelson made the team. I think with the goaltending they have, the forwards, and the experience that they bring back anything less than a top three finish would be a major disappointment for this hockey team.
  14. A great article. A lot kids would have probably just took the money and laughed at the fact that he got in trouble while in college. Now he is a Hobey Baker candidate having a tremendous season on a team that could do some special things at the end of the year.
  15. Very true. I'm a big proponent of the winners getting that extra time before they play next. The Robbie Bina incident occurred after the sioux won the play-in game against Wisconsin and were forced to go right away the next day. The same thing with Duluth a couple of years ago against CC after they beat the sioux. Or when Anchorage made the F5 for the first time, beat CC, and ended up playing North Dakota the next day in the afternoon. Yeah the past two years you had teams winning the F5 after winning the play-in game, but neither the sioux or the bulldogs had to win the afternoon game after winning Thursday.
  16. Agreed on 99% of your points. I gave my best player award to Genoway.... But Kristo did play well too.
  17. Hmmmm.....and if Grimaldi is a better player than Miller.......The cupboard shouldn't be too bare after this season.... Feel bad for Eidsness.....wish he could have gotten the shutout.....Understandably looked a bit rusty.....
  18. And that just ended the game...... Miller has been the best player for the U-18's. He'd be a great guy to have play with Kristo next season.
  19. I haven't heard the shots for a while, but Eidsness has to have around 20 saves for the game. Lets hope he doesn't let one slip by here and the fellas get outta dodge.
  20. Agreed, a number of guys haven't been moving their feet for a good portion of the game. Get out of this game healthy, and take a week off.
  21. You can just tell its a different Eidsness this year. He hasn't given up a goal yet, but he has been shaky the whole game. Trying to force the puck a number of times, and fighting it at times as well. Good to get him in the game though. They'll need him at the end of the year.
  22. Two threads in one week....I apologize guys and gals.... Anyways, with the new tournament this year having six teams and no third place game, and two games on Thursday I had someone ask me an interesting question that I didn't know the answer to. Lets say the top six current teams make it, and take their current seeds with them. 1. UND 2. Denver 3. Duluth 4. UNO 5. CC 6. Wisconsin Thursday nights games would be #3 Duluth vs. #6 Wisconsin, and #4 UNO vs. #5 CC. Here is where the question comes in. After the first round, do they re-seed? Like if Wisconsin beats Duluth, would they then play UND automatically if UND was the #1 team, and the winner of UNO vs. CC would automatically play Denver as the higher seed than Wisconsin? Of if Duluth won the winner of UNO vs. CC would automatically play the sioux? I tried to find this on the web, but couldn't really find anything....sorry for wasting your time Sioux fans.........
  23. You would think that they would bring him in next year so he wouldn't lose an entire year of eligibility. But I guess that his age puts him in a situation of sooner rather than later. Hopefully he's a good fit, and can fill in with Lamoureax on the third or fourth line.
  24. I read on Brad's blog that this guy is joining the team after semester one comes to an end. Does anyone have any info about why the sioux are adding this kid to the roster? Being the MJHL MVP is pretty impressive. I have a feeling that someone is going to come into this thread and put me to shame that we've all heard of this guy, and we all knew that he was coming in and would dress against Duluth in the HoF game... Please, take it easy on me.....
